every time I watched "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" as a kid 5th grade or above, there were always several questions that I was like "I was literally not taught this in any of these grade levels, what are they smoking?"

Can’t wait for Jaiden to appear in real life Family Feud and freak out at the even dumber survey answers.

The worst thing about the vision vs eye sight and distilling vs distillation is that the original game show hosts would have given you that one as correct the problem is the coding and limited programming.

I was so excited to see Robert Fulton as one of the answers cause he was actually my great-great-great-great-great grandfather. He invented the first working american steamboat that helped revolutionise water travel. His mother-in-law's third cousins were the Schuyler sister (yes, THOSE schuyler sisters). I was so excited when I found out about all this cool family history I had.

My family had a version of are you smarter than a fifth grader that was an interactive DVD that you played directly with the DVD player remote, and it wasn’t animated, it was just a bunch of recorded clips of the host and kids with basically just a set of menus for the questions. It was great (and honestly really clever how it worked, they fit a lot onto basically just DVD menus)

Alexander Hamilton is an answer that'd make Steve Harvey go "Huh? B-But he's not even a president.... I guess he is on the $10 bill but the prompt specified presidents... ALEXANDER HAMILTON!" *ding!* And then he just throws his hands in the air like "Alright, sure!"

You know the most infuriating thing about that Vision vs Eye Sight thing? Steve Harvey would have absolutely given you that one, because they're the same answers. The limited programming of the game is the issue, demanding the exact answers.

On the actual Family Feud show, they are VERY generous with whether or not what you said counts as an answer (in the infamous "naked grandma" incident, they gave the guesser the answer of "occupant"), so "vision" would absolutely have been accepted as "eyesight". Wouldn't have saved you from the ending part with "bus", but still. Same thing with saying "distilling" instead of "distillation".

Never thought I needed a Jaiden X Family Feud X Breaking Bad crossover in my life.

“Name a tree” “Salt” “WOAH! YOUR RIGHT!” That’s what I think when I saw the family feud section.

That vision/eye sight part is so relatable for games like these. It’s like those online math classes where you give the correct answer and it says you were wrong. Then show the exact answer you just gave! You know why it did that? I learned years later. You probably put a space somewhere in the answer… automatically makes it wrong and there was no warning that would happen.

My mom was actually on both the Price is Right AND Wheel of Fortune. She won a car in PiR but sold it, and won only $1000 from WoF. She has a little "mini museum" of some stuff from her games, like Vannah White's signature and Bob Barker's as well. She said she wouldn't trade those experiences for the world.

Having participated in local quiz competitions, it's actually criminal how many times a "technically correct" answer is rejected. And I can imagine higher levels of competition are even more petty than that honestly.

I miss these videos. I know that a lot of people really like the live streams, and I know that live streams might be easier because you don't need to animate every frame, but there is something so nice about the story telling and the exagerated jokes and gestures. I really like this.

Loving the shout-out to the "KILL!" Family Feud meme, it always kills me whenever it comes up.

A thing to note is that for the IRL versions of these game shows they do give the hosts a lot of discretion regarding whether to accept close answers, so saying "Vision" instead of "Eye Sight" in Family Feud, or saying "Distilling" instead of "Distillation" in Are You Smarter probably would have actually been accepted.

Evil Jaiden is probably the most adorable thing to exist. It's like when a baby cat tries to antagonize a full grown python and the python just doesn't have the energy to care.

6:29 fun fact! I went on the Price is Right, two days before my birthday, and two days before Drew Carey's birthday. I didn't get selected as a contestant, something that I have been training for since I was a child, but Drew Carey talked with me during the commercial break (because they film the show with the commercials playing for the audience to determine timing) and then I won a door prize after the show, which was the Price is Right video game and some money that was lower than the taxable prize threshold. I guessed everything that came up while there and only one of the prizes did I not guess closer than the person who was up there. My brother and I used to watch the Price is Right every day in the summer as kids and he's even better than me. He can guess most showcases within $300 of the actual retail price. I don't know if he'd ever be able to compete though as he runs corporate events and has done events for CBS.

As a UK viewer, the only gameshow that kept its name over here was The Price is Right. Family Feud became Family Fortunes. The two hosts I know being Les Dennis (Who lasted for 15 years on the show) and Vernon Kay (who mainly ran the Celebrity version). 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader' was done as 'Are You Smarter Than a Ten Year Old?'. That was a little after my time though. You want to see British Wit though? The Weakest Link. Anne Robinson's era was legendary for that.

You could totally do your own version of family feud, where you had someone poll your audiences, then use the percentages as points.

I like this series where you come up with a random idea and then try to test it. It’s like the random thoughts with a twist. Also my g-ma alphabetizes spices, and I could totally see myself alphabetizing spices too
