I recently did a run using Bolt of Gransax and a pre-planned outfit, but I had this drop for me in Limgrave and couldn't help but put it on until I had my main weapon and armor. I wore it with the battlemage manchettes and legwraps.

YES! Octopus heads for life! Literally my first character I beat the game wearing it.

And Arcane increases any existing status effect, so if you have Bleed or Poison already on a weapon (such as with Hoslow's Petal Whip) then Occult will still dramatically increase the status effect. At 80 Arcane, Occult weapons come very close to Blood/Poison weapons in status buildup but have a lot more damage on top.

Actually this helmet was one reason for me to play the Elden Ring Reforged Mod, where you get a special currency, if you start a ng+ cycle right at the beginnning, that allows you to buy every item in the game. 21:45 I have "killed" Adula in her first location only once before because I was curious, so I used a hypermode build. Can confirm she is unkillable at that location and is scripted to fly away no matter what. She's only able to be killed the second time you fight her.

This is one of my favorite helmets in the game. It was the first armor piece I obtained in my first playthrough of Elden Ring, so I am extremely surprised to hear that it is actually extremely rare. Cool to see you use such a silly looking headgear!!!!

Ok, I gotta come back to comment this. During my fight with Theodorix in the Consecrated Snowfield, he did his charge attack, accidentally aggroed one of the Giant Octopuses nearby, and got his shit absolutely slapped. The octopus brought him down to one-shot from a little over half HP too. I have witnessed the might of the octopus firsthand.

As far as I can tell it is impossible to kill Adula before she teleports. She becomes immune to damage once she reaches half hp. It may be possible if you one shot her with an attack that is actually one shot, and not something like comet azure which does multiple ticks of damage. But the wiki says that is also impossible. Wiki is probably correct but they don’t site their sources.

I've always really liked the dual whip moveset, but whips in general have one fatal flaw that keeps me from using them much, the inability to backstab/critical. Sure I could carry another weapon to swap to for those moments, but often when I carry another weapon I have to keep swapping to, I end up just using said other weapon.
