Everyone saying about getting the Cryolater with Dogmeat, that glitch doesn't work anymore, and hasn't for a while source:fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Cryolator_(Fallout_4) Also Dogmeat isn't in the Vault so he is not allowed anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The outfit's going to be tough. Chef Hat yes, but...there's no apron that I know of. At least there'll be lots of food buffs you can use. EDIT: The Swedish Chef has, in canon, used a black powder weapon before. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hLqohiMy_CU.html So, we might be talking mod territory for full authenticity.
You should consider a Kellogg Run. Access to a 44. Mag which you can find very close to Sanctuary, the clothes and armor he uses in the Memory Sequences, and then finally his Outfit and Pistol
@@Norheath if you go East from Sanctuary, the southern side of the nearby pond has a water pump on the shore. Follow the small water pipe up the hill, and the .44 Snubnose is next to a Skeleton on the ground
@@Dubs7ep_PandaThis is run changing info. This is why I love fallout, coming back to these games I have thousands of hours in and I still learn something new. Big thankies.
The trigger man sequence is truly a thing of nightmares and would probably make for a decent horror story. You and your friends are just minding your own business in your home when some deranged lunatic barges in and just starts beating your friends to death with a police baton. Your pumping bullets into him as fast as he can but nothing is stopping this blue monster from dragging your friends off. Once you do manage to catch him you just see him devouring the corpse of your friend you were just chatting with only moments ago. Your bullets seemingly having no effect before he finally turns his attention to you.
I would love to see a Chef run lol. Using only rolling pins and wearing a chef hat would be obvious plus only healing with cooked food could be a part of it too
@@remington2884 yeah, but that was a mod. This would be vanilla. Also, he would be able to go "borky borky, bork........ Bork?" Throughout the video, just like the muppet. (The Swedish Chef)
Not just food. Food you MUST COOK OR HUNT YOURSELF Go foraging, or hunting, or even buy things if you plan to cook it, but NO picking up any old food off the ground. It's unsanitary
"I then went outside and ate the rest of her friends so that they may all be reunited in my stomach" Not gonna lie, that unironically sounds like the kind of thing a batshit cannibal NPC would say in a Fallout game.
I think Kellogg was reloading his gun at the same frame as you disarmed him, meaning the texture for reloading stayed in his hand while the actual item dropped.
@@AC1.0_5 or better yet. (Idk if nerbit wouod even be tempted to play any of the older games) canyou beat fallout 1 with only the items in vault 13 and your person or can you beat fallout 2 only with the items in the temple... those sounds impossible
I was thinking he should reprise his character of the chef from the frying pan run, but it'd be interesting to see him play as an old lady. Either way a rolling pin run could be awesome. I never knew that was a weapon, thought it was junk.
Especially when doing it in FNV, considering there’s a group of old ladies that’ll jump you which I believe are a reference to Monty Python along with the Holy Hand grenades you can get with Wild Wasteland
I wonder if the intimidation perks would have been good for this run or not. If I remember correctly, you don't need ammo in the gun to pacify a target, you just need to point it at them.
Hey Nerbit, ever thought about attempting to play Fallout 4 as yourself? I was thinking the premise of the challenge is (Can you beat fallout4 as Nerbit, aka yourself). The catch is you have to make your character resemble you irl as well as your special stats that you think is appropriate. Also, I was thinking that you make it a perma-death, survival run (Survival difficulty where if you die, the run is over). Just a video idea that I thought would be really cool for you to attempt, anyway love your vids.
You brought up doing a rolling pin only run, but I'm doing my own personal challenge run right now I'm calling "grandma run" where for weapons I'm only using a rolling pin and a walking cane. I can only wear stuff you'd stereotypically see a grandma wear like glasses or some of the casual dresses. And I can only heal myself with cooked food. I think it's a bit more interesting than the standard challenge run and wouldn't mind seeing you play through it.
i get the feeling doing a rolling pin run in new Vegas would be the most entertaining because of the number of enemies that would be comical to fight against using a rolling pin.
Actually sounds pretty fun, but to simulate a real Grandma, you'd need to drop Str to 3, Per to 2(bad eyesight), End to 3 or 4, Cha would probably be 7 or 8(everyone loves their Granny), Int would probably be 6 or 7 as well(Grandma knows a lot), Agi to 2 or 1(probably), and you'd probably max out Lck(because she always seems to have what you need to feel better). This is based on a stereotypical or cartoonish version of a Granny, but I think it fits. Oh and add glasses, because most lovable Grannies have them. Not sure on the perks part, if you wanted a stereotypical Granny, you'd probably pick mostly Luck based and those not entirely based on weapons or combat. Mysterious Stranger should be one, because some nice young Man wouldn't mind helping a kind old Granny out of a spot of trouble.
I absolutely love the technically correct interpretations of the story youve given, like your description of virgil's lab and you telling shaun (the sequel) to "get a good close look at the fireworks." It's funny on it's own, and it's funnier to me as someone who knows how the story actually goes, because I can remember "oh yeah pseudoShaun does get blown up" and see that your descriptions are pretty accurate and a lovely interpretation of true events
The baton is a surprisingly effective weapon if you invest in sneak and critical perks. I once decided to keep it as my dedicated melee weapon and name it Slappy.
FYI, it is technically possible to build the teleporter without picking up any of the items. You’ll need to find ones that spawn outdoors and drag them (outside your inventory) all the way to the settlement, then use workshop mode to store them.
That is true, but he would still have to pick up kellogs brain stuff and the fusion pulse charge as well, so he would still end up violating the rules.
Also they're not found in the vault, if anything you'd have to drag them back to the vault, somehow drag them to a loading screen into the vault then pick them up.
12:54 Alright, you said it, but a funny New Vegas run COULD be one where you play as your own version of the "Maud's Muggers" Wild Wasteland encounter. You'd be limited to the Pre-War Spring Outfit and a Rolling Pin (/Switchblade). However you'd also be allowed to have up to 2 companions, but both must follow your same equipment restrictions (edit: either through the glitch that allows you to do so, or through a mod).
Just letting you know that when you do the "Can you beat Fallout New Vegas using only items from doc Mitchell's house" you'll have to drop all the items the Doc gives you because they technically came from outside the Doc's house. He says they were your belongings from before you got the lead implant from Benny
@@shard7549 Hmm tough to say. I'm leaning more towards a yes, but I could also see why people would choose to say no. I believe that a nice compromise would be to not count items bought from Doc, but count items obtained from him through dialogue checks (the stimpacks and doctor bags) or from pickpocketing
@@Mr_KuKy I mean, if you don't accept money from outside Doc Mitchell's house then there's only so much you can get from him anyway. Sell him his own books, use that money for stimpacks, and that's about that
@@nikoincroatia With how some quests give you caps you might have a hard time keeping the count of what you got from the doc's house and what was obtained outside. Selling everything you are allowed to and buying most of the things early on might solve that issue.
I like the idea of a “bowling for soup” run, where you can only use the striker to kill and healing is only available using soup (plus sleeping and drinking) It would be more interesting if there was a mod where you could use a bowling pin as a melee weapon, but I’m not sure if there is one. Love the runs too !
I've also been watching for ages, can't remember when I started. Never thought I'd find a fallout based channel as good as mitten squad, but Nerbit has proved me wrong! Anytime a RU-vid notification pings me with the next ridiculous challenge, I'm thinking hello there!
That was lame as F. Mid at best. I thought of chucking a Warthog at NPC's like in InfernoPlus's Cursed Halo Mod. Call it the "Warthog Run", MF do better.
I love the counter balance in Nerbit vids of the Gunners in Green Tech either being a cake walk or slog, and it's usually obvious which is which, but it keeps him humble.
This video gave me a similar idea. Can you beat Skyrim using only item's from the Helgen tutorial? Maybe on the survival difficulty that requires you to sleep, eat, & stay warm?
Now do the same thing in FNV with only items from Docs’ house. I’m wondering if the courier stash items will be valid since you technically “get” them there.
I think a rolling pin run would be hilarious!! You would need to play as an older lady and you’d have to wear a pre-war dress 😉 They can be upgraded with ballistic weave and I think it would be a really fun run to watch!
Fun as always. Suggestions: Party Girl run. Must be under the influence at all times, if you're not drunk, then you can't progress until you are. If you run out of booze in the middle of a dungeon, you have to retreat and get more booze. Bonus points for only using Vodka and Bojrbon for healing. Extra bonus points for getting Buddy to make ice cold beers. Charisma perks only. That might be too easy, since you could use Inspirational to make companions play the game for you. I'd suggest Intimidation, Animal Friend, and Wasteland Whisperer only, but you can't make humans turn on each other before lvl 23. On the upside, without damage and crafting perks, every new weapon has potential, without worrying about type.
Can you beat Fallout 4 without experiencing any “oversights” from the developers. Play it on survival, and if any glitches, oversights, etc. come up, you have to immediately restart the game from the beginning. Also play it with the minutemen because they are the most glitchy faction. Love your vids man!
That’s going to be longer than the Metal Gear video if he gets what I like to call, The Curse of Sanctuary. Basically, it auto-cancels all dialogue in Sanctuary.
You know, hearing Nerbit talk about how good VATs is makes me really curious how hard a VATs Only run would be. As in, the only way you can deal damage is in VATs. Might not be hard, but I am very interested in how good it could become by the end of a run.
It's very doable in all three modern titles, but 4 is built around VATS existing as an entire playstyle and not just a panic button. 3 has the hardest time because of the worst accuracy AND your weapons degrade quicker (Fun fact, that's a thing). New Vegas is somewhere in-between.
@@jordanthejq12 *3 has the hardest time because of the worst accuracy AND your weapons degrade quicker* Actually it could be one of the easiest. With Grim Reaper's Sprint your AP are instantly refilled every time you get a kill in VATS and (if you allow exploits) you can get unbreakable guns from Operation Anchorage.
@@jordanthejq12 NV would be harder, less damage resistance in it, some enemies like spore carriers can't reliably be targeted in VATS, nor can Dead Money speakers, and Grim reapers sprint was nerfed.
@@stm7810 While that is true there's a few more perks and powerful consumables to boost your VATS so I'd say its easier if you try a bit. 3 isn't very hard especially if you get GRS but for most of the playthrough it might just be a tad boring to (same in early NV tbh) as you'd spend a bunch of time in cover or running in circles waiting for your AP to come back
@@FreshMint1527 good point. though at least for the Fallout 4 1 it could be that you have to also only move in VATS using VR, so you only move when you have the AP for it, like the FLASH with asthma.
Re the rolling pin run, you should do a "could a chef survive a nuclear apocalypse?" And wear chef clothes/hat and only use culinary weapons like knives and rolling pin. No stim packs, but become a master chef but cooking all the recipes.
I love these use only vault item runs. Not only are they very challenging but having Nerbit improvise and come up with unique ways to solve problems is very entertaining.
Is Nerbit bready for that though? They'll be fine travelling as long as they head (y)east. If he doesn't concentrate on melee he'll be toast After siding with the institute, the railroad will baguette what's coming to them If you're on survival, making sure you (wh)eat well will be a matter of loaf and death Lol i could keep going but I feel like I should apologise for these puns now haha
The rolling pin run idea got me thinking about chefs. You should do a Julia Child run - she lead quite an interesting life, and I’d love to see how you interpret her in stats, abilities, and gameplay. Bon appetit!
So Kellogg was technically in Vault 111 during his mission, and the challenge was to only use things that were in Vault 111. . . Kellogg and all his stuff were in the vault. Honestly, I think his items could have counted. 😆
Simply can NOT wait for the throwback video: “Can You Beat Fallout 111 With Only Items from Vault 4?” . Only seven-hundred years and one real-world nuclear fallout to go before Todd Howard XVII reveals the release date!!
After watching all your fallout challenges and a vast lot of your other videos I've been cooking up my own fallout challenges to be made into videos lol the rolling pin run is on that list, made me laugh when you mentioned it. Yes do a rolling pin run let it be a follow up/improvement? To the frying pan run. lol
Swedish Chef run You dress as a chef, use the rolling pin and, can only heal with food and things you cook Bonus points if you do an entire episode with scrambled speech
It's actually pretty easy to get the Cryolator before level 20. Just ask Cait to pick the lock for you. I'd argue this doesn't violate the run either if you just recruit her, take her to open the case, and the dismiss her afterwards.
When you suggested the Rolling Pin Run I immediately pictured an Irish Mami Run, allowing only the following items. (aside from Quest related items of course) Rolling Pin Chef's Clothing Prepared meals (both crafted and looted, no other consumables)
Happy Nerbit day. 🎉. It took me longer than I thought to realise that I really look forward to Friday due to your videos, in manner I sort of rely on them to get me through. Thanks man, have a good weekend.
If you do that rolling pin run, I think it would be funny if you did it as Muriel from Courage the Cowardly Dog. Maybe you could use Dogmeat as a companion since it would be thematically appropriate.
> Refused to use the Vertibird minigun to kill the Fort Strong Behemoth because it would fail the run > Activated a Protectron to kill the Fort Hagen Synths, failing the run Confirmed, Nerbit is far more scared of literal skeleton robots than gigantic overmuscled mutant-cavemen (...understandable tbh) Bonus points for "This ring is completely useless" when it raises Charisma and you just barely lucked out a Speech check with the Sentinel Site guy xD
Would love to see a rolling pin run in multiple games. Would also love to see "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only The Gainer?", "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only Baseball Grenades (being a pitcher)?", "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only Predator grenades?", "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only Kremvh's Tooth?", and "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only the Rockville Slugger?"
Given the size of 111 compared to 101 I think this challenge should have included using Sanctuary as well. Just can't do any settlement stuff beyond building the teleporter, and you could trade with Carla as long as she was on the right side of the bridge.
I have thought of the ultimate run: "Fallout 4 without" the entire run you are not allowed to have any items in your inventory (except those needed by the main quest), you can haver no armor and must use bare hands in all combat. This would prove all possible "without" runs possible which I find funny also the idea of a random naked vault dweller taking down the institute to be quite funny
Technically, other than items to build teleporter to institute, you need to pick Kellogg's brain to go into his memories, items to build prime, and berillium agitator to complete the run, but alas nice challenge
Pretty sure Kellogs .44 is like companion guns (CG). You see it more prominently in fo3/NV when a companion dies, they will not drop their gun. He also has the regular gun and ammo on him and it's likely equipped by default. My guess he doesn't have companion ammo, and since CG force equip when you don't have another weapon, and he swapped to melee at the same time, it equipped both the CG .44 and his fists.
someone else said he may have been reloading while in stealth boy mode, and he was disarmed on the same frame as the reloading animation, so he had it stuck on his hands
Here's a challenge for you. Can you beat Skyrim as Artemis, the goddess of the hunt? You would play as a female Imperial. Your outfit will be hide armor, with the Savior's Hide you get from Hircine. Your weapon would be the golden bow you get from the Saints and Seducers pack. Your main objectives are to hunt one of every kind of animal and monster, and beat the main story line to hunt Alduin.
23:40 finally, after all those years, background fallout music that isn't the same droning fallout 3 exploration music that's in every single video playing all the time.
A rolling pin run would be interesting but only if you make it a character style run, maybe a grandma run? Low endurance and perception but you gave that old man strength
Take the rolling pin a step farther and make it to where you have to play as a chef. So basically you have to use the rolling pin and your only healing supplies are items you cook. And chefs are always working so you can't sleep to heal.
Someone in the comments here mentionned a granny run and I think I'd love to see such a themed run. If however you wanted to focus more on "just the rolling pin" I'd recommend Fallout New Vegas for its large variety of consumable items you can use to boost your melee capabilities: poisons, drugs, not-quite-drugs and perhaps even alcohol with Cass although I'm not sure she'd be willing to use a rolling pin with you though. Heck there's a video on RU-vid of a guy clearing Quarry Junction on Very Hard with a rolling pin. Above all, keep it fun, the adventure is more fun than the pain.
I feel like a killer cook run would be really cool a character that is only allowed to use cooking based weapons and get this mainly focus on cooking the best cuisine in the oh yeah and he will be a cannibal
Angry Grandma Run? Rolling pin, dress + other grandmotherly artifacts only restricted run? Do it in New Vegas with Wild Wasteland and take out Maud's Muggers?
I would love to see a rolling pin run in any game. Most of these really restrictive challenges are the best to watch, just to see how you planned out a weird route through the game.
I'm *very* glad you mentioned the rolling pin, my friend. Can you beat fallout (new Vegas, 3, or 4) as a grandma? New Vegas would make most sense with that encounter where you find all the grandma's. The rolling pin is literally the main part of that idea.
