Jason stops being a horror character when you imagine him pouring drinks through his mask, smashing food through his mask and chugging water from the sink just to survive in a panic when somebody aims a gun at him
I dunno, I’d be pretty freaked out if I shot a dude and he just ate some shitty food *through a fucking hockey mask* and suddenly he’s just okay again??
I still think about the time where he destroys a gang's boombox, gets pulled aside by them so they can chew him out, and he responds by just pulling up his mask and showing them just what they're messing with.
Fun Fact: Jason was meant to kick/stomp a dog as the director wanted him to be "irredeemeable evil" but Kane Hodder refused so cannonically Jason does not harm animals
it would be fitting, although using either charisma stat seems out of character. Jason tends to not be charismatic. But also, an intimidating presence is not really talking. Debunking prev commenter
@@phantom_jay13 I only said that because I remember one specific interaction with the powder gangers where you don't say anything at all and they attempt to flee from you in terror
Vats would the since in 3 and new vegas you can actually move , with melee weapons, for example, you have 3 raiders behind each other, you vats the first one, second one and third, your character will "jump" towards them, attack, jump to the next and attack and repeat, ultimately moving your character, kinda like blitz minus the range bonus, great with the grim reapers sprint perk, if you manage to down all 3 you can get your AP back and still vats another Incase you need to. Only thing I don't recommend for cats is anything that's reloaded one at a time, because of that one vats bug, besides that glitch vats is a great way to move around in a emergency. I like to press the vats button randomly and cancel it as a "aim bot"you '/can even get perfect headshots using that strategy, it's great for sneak attacks to since vats automatically agro's whatever you target when you get a vats hit. Not sure why that happens. I guess it's very loud?
@@admiralhipster9583 I like the fact in fallout 4 you have to teleport in this giant teleporter and after you join you can literally just fast travel but they call it teleport just because lol
@@I-AM-EL-ZOZO well, fast travel is canonically not really actually teleporting, the game actually calculates how long the distance would be (if you walked) in I think a straight line which, imo is an amazing fact
I feel like hot blooded totally fits for a slasher villain like Jason; they usually do get more aggressive when the hero actually manages to wound them or otherwise put up a meaningful resistance.
Im actually glad you allowed yourself to use the typical movement speed, since depending on what meta youre discussing, Jason is just a ludicrously agile and fast runner...or teleports. Regardless, glad to see another video from you all the same
17:40 So what we learned from this video is that Nerbit has ascended to such a status that playing a New Vagas challenge run is so easy and boring to him he just fell asleep. Truly the man we all wish we could be
@@nunull6427 His brain tumor didnt affect his intelligence, but conciousness, thats why he blacks out or has random fits with blood coughing. When you remove the tumor he aint more calculated nor smarter.
Suggestion for a Christmas special! Can you beat [insert game] as Santa Claus? In a game that has player inventory and droppable items (like a Bethesda game), before you complete the game, you must decide who the "nice" characters are, break into their homes, and leave them a thoughtful gift without getting caught. Optionally, you may also leave coal (or a coal substitute) behind in the homes of "naughty" characters. The scope/number of characters you do this to, and the game the challenge takes place in is up to you!
my guess is that the super slam problem was actually a broad machete problem. id imagine that the devs had to enable all of the melee weapons individually to work with super slam and the broad machete being unique was overlooked.
Having looked at other perks with similar omissions, I can say that's exactly what happens. In the GECK, a program used for New Vegas development, each perk that applies to certain weapons has a list of all the weapons it applies to. The pre-order and DLC items aren't typically on these perk lists, leading to things such as the Broad Machete not working with Super Slam.
Actually the slow moving slasher would be perfect for fallout 4 with the Blitz perk: constantly moving slowly but suddenly appear behind/near the victim is a classic horror trope. Excellent video as always!
i think the Dead Money Jumpsuit is the one that looks the closest, and you can get one by simply heading into the bunker and taking it from the dead headless dude to the left of the stairs as you enter.
Jason actually runs and jogs a lot in the Friday the 13th series. Never understood why people say he never runs. Sometimes the way they shoot it makes it look like he is going slower than he is but we see him run quite a bit even dead sprints.
Jason, when you can see him on screen in some of the movies, actually sprints! Fun fact, there was one part in one of the movies where the actor for Jason kept catching the survivor he was chasing! So the producers told him to slow down.
I copied your Leatherface playthrough last Halloween and had an absolute blast with it, so I'm looking forward to trying out this challenge too. Thanks for all the hours of entertainment!
@m i either miss clicked to post that reply on the wrong comment( i don't quite think that is the case 🤔) or the comment got changed by eldritch black magic, ps i think you comment got shadowed because of the "azi" word
As regards slow movement: Jason is a horror movie monster, he's either able to teleport, or he absolutely _books it_ every time he's offscreen. Which could be an interesting caveat, maybe can only run when not detected? Would need to mod a way for the detection geegaw to always be onscreen...
I love the idea of Jason hotboxing himself, like it's the one thing he does to relax, but also does it with psychoactive drugs in order to wipe out a whole military base. perfection.
You're all good on the "no running" thing. Jason ran in the 2009 reboot. Which personally I loved that about it cause frankly him booking it after people was siiick.
LOL! The old "falling asleep while playing" thing is one of my trademarks... The best is when you catch yourself nodding off a few times before finally falling all the way asleep. It's best when playing with controller. You look up at the screen and the camera is facing the sky, or floor, spinning around at high speed... Good times.
I think the broad machete has the same issues as some of the other opening Courier's Stash items. Like the Sturdy Caravan shotgun's ability to not register as a shotgun.
Another twist to this that could have been fun is only being out at night time. Obviously it wasn’t required, but could have been a nice touch. Great run!
There is a lot of discussions about if Jason can teleport or not considering how he always seems to disappear and reaper out of nowhere. So fast traveling kinda works with the character.
I think Jason's supernatural ability to keep resurrecting to appear in new movies every Halloween does give you an unfair advantage, though dying and having to wait 12 months would be a touch annoying.
Jason sure is an intimidating force, speaking about intimidation, that would make an interesting challenge! Can you beat fallout 4 using only intimidation or pacifying perks
Banger as always, Nerbit! Have you ever done a Fallout 4 run using only the Charisma perks like intimidate and similar? No companions or weapons yourself, just making enemies fight enemies
Well this was great timing, I just started a slasher run of NV couple days ago after re-watching your leather face run and was wondering if you'd do Jason or another horror character. Happy Halloween
Thing is the cyborg implants make sense with Jason x although I’m surprised the machete doesn’t work with super slam considering how many times it activated in Freddy vs Jason
After the upcoming special episode, Can you beat fallout new vegas while being chased by Vulpes Inculta? If you run away from him in nipton whilst he approaches you,he will chase you forevor
The Broad Machete bug is pretty simple, actually. Master files (usually the base game and DLCs, but also can include certain mods) can't modify plugins, and the plugins themselves can't modify the base game since the engine by default overwrites conflicting mods with the lowest priority one. As in, the ENTIRE mod. For example, if I installed an unofficial patch that fixes THOUSANDS of issues, including changing the name of an item, and then put a mod below it that changed that same item's name, the lone mod would more than likely prevent the ENTIRETY of that patch from activating. That's why compatibility patches are so popular. So the Broad Machete didn't activate Super Slam because it wasn't included in the list of Super Slam weapons. They couldn't add it since any lower mods that affect Super Slam would overwrite the ENTIRETY of Courier's Stash. The Machete Gladius worked since it's included in the base game. You can't overwrite a Master file, after all. And this issue extends to some other weapons, most notably Cowboy not affecting the Police Pistol.
Sweet Halloween special! Would love to see the Agent 47 run someone suggested back on the Lincoln 4 video, but I'm guessing the mystery video is something a bit more _metal,_ if you know what I'm saying.
Now that I think about it, a Voorhees run in fallout 4 would actually work a bit “better” because of the blitz perk which basically makes you teleport to people in VATS melee. But that would turn the vid into a VATS run, which probably won’t be fun.
I ended up recording a full ladder play through with Jason, if anyone wants to see it here you go: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--5LnM0e7fJM.html Ps it is age restricted because RU-vid can't distinguish Mortal Kombat violence from real violence lmao
Well, i gotta ask you again. I have a verry intresting Fallout 4 playtrough in-mind that you might like to do, since it has some unique dialoge options. "Can you beat Fallout 4, as the Silver Shroud?"
Let's brainstorm and see what other slashers you could do Freddy Krueger in Fallout 3 is a possibility. Ghoul Mask, Deathclaw Gauntlet and the Mr. Sandman perk. Console commands to change the player scale could let you do a Chucky run, but that's probably too similar to your baby run. The meat hook in Far Harbor could let you do the guy from I Know What You Did Last Summer. Or Man Door Hook Hand Car Door. I can't think of anything that would really match the Ghostface mask. Maybe a Dragon Priest mask in Skyrim?
There's a mod I've always used for Tale of Two Wastelands called "Limitless Stats". It allows you to raise Skills beyond 100 and SPECIAL stats above 10, and uses custom Perks to make sure those higher values still have an effect on gameplay when the normal system doesn't know what to do. (For example, once Strength goes beyond the normal limit, a Perk increases damage roughly the same amount that your higher stat would, using the new higher number to calculate the amount) It also edits the Intense Training Perk to be able to be taken as many times as you want. Rather than using it to surpass the normal level and stat cap, it seems it could be used for some unique challenge runs, if you restrict yourself to only ever taking Intense Training and using it to boost a single SPECIAL stat, you could try things like "Can You Beat Fallout: New Vegas Only Boosting Strength?" See what happens when every other practical ability is as low as possible, and dumping every single boost into a single aspect of a character. I'd imagine it would lead to some rather ridiculous character builds, with a Strength-based character eventually slapping enemies over the horizon, or an Agility-based character able to clear all of Hoover Dam in a single extended VATS round while being near-useless outside of VATS.
Just imagine seeing a man with a hockey mask and a jumpsuit tearing through the large, explosives wielding robots with a machete. That image is both absolutely hilarious and terrifying at the same time
In regards to the "all slasher villains just seem to murder without talking to people", would love to see a more charismatic horror villain next year like Mick from wolf creek or something!
If we’re doing characters that have been featured in Mortal Kombat, can you beat Fallout New Vegas as Sektor? -You can only use the rocket launcher and full reinforced metal armor -You must alt+F4 the game if you’re about to die, regardless of save status
Okay I have a FNV Michael Myers Run for you. Only use the kitchen knife, fists. Only wear a blue jumpsuit (Got it from Dermot) and to make it extra spicy I dont engage into Dialoge. (Except Yes men because you have to finish the game somehow). So basically you cant actively engage into Dialoge with Npcs which makes very very spicy. I did the run a year ago and its not easy but I managed to only "talk" to roughly five people and only actively engaged into Dialoge with one. Would love to see you try it. Great Channel Mate and keep up the good work.
Gotta take Rad Child. The health regen, along with the implant, gives you that big boy regen. I actually played as Mr. Voorhees myself with big regeneration energy :)
You forgot to have an old lady's head in a room where it won't despawn. Had it be his mother's head. This is still the best God damn series I've ever fucking seen. Godspeed, Nerbit.
Can you beat Fallout 4 as James Bond? Basically, can only use The Deliverer and any other James Bond styled weapons, and you have to wear a suit in Fallout 4, tackle any situation or quest you find yourself on in how you think James Bond would. Also, getting the Lady Killer perk is a MUST.
For this run, it might have been a good idea to raid the Sunset Sasparilla factory and go to Big Mountain for the cybernetics perks you get from getting your organs back
I only found this Channel 4 days ago and I’ve seen all the fallout videos new vegas and 4 videos, currently on my first play through of fallout 3 so I haven’t seen them yet but I’m loving these challenges
For those who are wondering, the notice he gave at the end of this video was for the week he spent recording the footage for "Can You Beat The Metal Gear Saga Before The End Dies of Old Age?".
The Prospector sitting next to the corpses of an old woman and her four dogs when he sees a man walk up with a blood stained machete, jump suit, and hockey mask: Howdy 🤠
