Challenge failed, you couldn't beat two bosses and wouldn't have beat neo-exdeath without cheating. By cheating to get to Exdeath doesn't mean you beat him. You lost, stop trying to call it a win.
The Galuf shenanigans were easily remedied by just reverting to my old save and taking a knife off of someone. Omniscient is totally optional and I explain why I do it every single video. I put the stamp down because its funny. Maybe don't take things so seriously.
Btw dancer gear doesn't change sword dance to 1/3. It changes it to 1/2. There are 4 options when dance is called for Sword dance Jitterbug duet Temptango Mystery waltz When dancer gear is applied it doesn't remove the temptango slot but rather overwrites it with another sword dance. (The more you know graphic)
Out of an entire ballroom of dance puns "turning 360 degrees and moonwalking out" was the one that got me best :D In older versions of FFV the "sword dance up" gear makes Sword Dance replace Tempting Tango, resulting in a 2/4 chance rather than 1/3. As usual I can't speak for the PR's programming. Normally I never have more than one Dancer in the party. Seeing a full squad of Dancers get whiffed on by every status ailment really makes those ribbons stand out. Almost as if status resistances were a legitimate 4th defensive stat, like m.def and hp. _Almost._ I am almost as excited as you for some impotent White Hole spam! Dancers always have it rough against Almagest, but I'd be worried if a level 47+ character couldn't take it. The exp curve gets _so_ brutal in the 40s that mid 40s is what I'd call max level even in most challenge runs. ( But not Berserker DX ) Now you have me guessing which job peaks at Karnak. My first instinct is Red Mage, but I could see an argument for the Thief's fancy new spinny weapon + movement speed + back attack prevention all working together in the burning castle.
I don't understand why they didn't make each dancer equipment cancel 1 of the dances for sword dance. There's 3 of them, lamia tiara, rainbow dress, red slippers. You could say each of them removed one of the other 3 dances, so equiping all 3 garantees sword dance. Sword dance isn't even that op. If you don't want other classes to abuse it with better weapons, just make dance like kick so no one can ever learn it outside of dancer. Then you could only use it with low attack daggers.
Minor nitpick: the red dress et al don't just remove Tempting Tango, they actually *replace* it with another Sword Dance, making the odds 1/2 rather than 1/3
I wonder if there's a randomizer tool or something for the remaster to change either the starting class or one of the wind crystal jobs, so you can start the challenge immediately. Though, equipment availability might be a problem for some classes.

This is making me curious about the GBA jobs like Cannoneer, Gladiator, Necromancer, and Oracle for this challenge. though, they are such late game jobs that, maybe it wouldn’t really matter unless they were modded to unlock earlier?
"Maybe I could've danced Omniscient to death" Theoretically possible, but thank you for not actually doing it; we want you to actually upload once in a while :P
@@veghesther3204 Did not know that! I thought the absorption abilities would be classed as spells for the purpose of that battle. The more you know!
I believe they don't and while Sword Dance is SUPPOSE to count as a MAGIC attack it doesn't for that boss since it will still use Return heck even all of the GEOMANCERS Random moves still count as PHYSICAL for the same boss and it would use return as well.
Lamia's Tiara can be picked up in world 1 but it is harder to get imo than Gaia Hammer from Titan is. Granted a rare steal in world 1 when the foe has a common drop as well before you get reset magic is just hell no matter what. Wonder how much fun the thief is gonna be? All that cool gear you can steal but not use (besides twin lance at least)
Thief NOT fun at all ie the Fire Ship boss is pretty much immune to EVERYTHING BESIDES ICE rod breaking/Ice 2 spells and the thief can't do EITHER so even at lv 30+ good luck damaging that boss even AFTER STEALING 99/buying 99 hi potions BEFORE you fight it. Also the class can't SELF heal by using Flame rings to hit themselves with Fire rods.
It'd be nice if the Thief Knife was available earlier, but like most of the good stuff in FF5 its hard locked to the end game. If you could get some rare steals early it would adjust a lot of the runs.
I wish but no by default any job class that can't equip rods by default even the PIXEL remaster won't allow you to use them as items to break them so the Magic Side Forking Tower boss all 4 Dances would cause it to use the Return spell..
Samurai, Dragoon or Dancer only? So either you aren't doing a Chemist run or your Chemist run up to getting the job is going to be very different somehow?
Chemist is doable as long as you get like 99 items TOO bad the Prototype enemies world 1 for Dark matter drops are nearly impossible to KILL IN the Chemist job itself for a 100% dark matter drop
@@BacklogBuster No big deal! It was just how it was presented that struck me as odd thats all. Thank you for the videos you make and the work that goes into them!
Honestly more surprised that you didnt start with freelancer only, pragmatically forking your save after every crystal and mime, than i am that you forked your save after the earth crystal. Though i suppose this way does offer the chance to have less repeated pre job challenge content, so hey.
FFT will be on the menu at some point. I have Monk Only banked for once I'm done FF5. I don't really want to use mods so I'd have to do something else out since Ramza can't be a Dancer. 4x Dancer with Ramza Bard is usually the concession I've seen so I may try it. Who knows maybe I go back and figure out something from FFHacktics.
I know he keeps telling us to skip ahead for specific challenge beginning, but i keep watching the opener parts to see if he just recycles the old audio and video or if he goes through the process of rerecording the start over and over again
gonna be honest. if you cheat and get the job early in the start of the game i wont judge. its sad having to wait till the 3rd and 4th crystal to even start it
@@BacklogBuster you do a great job all around. i dont know why i cant put myself in the mindset of trying to do one of these challenges (in any older game really) because ill spend 10s of hours grinding to ridiculous levels so theres either no challenge left or i get burnt. but i really enjoy this series and your content and wish you nothing but the best
Two corrections 1. Self-Destruct is blue magic. It CAN'T be silenced. Don't try it on Purobolos. 2. Omniscient is doable with any class that can equip Knives and Bone Mail+Reflect Ring (common steal in Phoenix Tower). Have one character hit the Bone Mail character with a Mage Masher. If mute doesn't proc, just try again next turn. If mute procs, the Reflect Ring throws it at Omniscient. If it lands, swing as hard as you can with your other characters. It's slow, but not MP-drain slow, and very safe. (Monk can't do it)
Two corrections. 1. I'm not trying to silence self-destruct. I'm trying to silence Arise so it doesn't revive the other bombs when I kill it. 2. Risky strategy that's not worth doing. Running omniscient out of MP is free. Seriously, you guys seem to be so hung up on Omniscient. Maybe I should just stop bothering to kill him at all since he's 100% optional and the only jobs that would even care to kill him are: Black Mage, White Mage, and Mystic Knight for Flare/Holy and then Time Mage so you can get Meteor from the Undersea Trench.
EASILY however the MAGIC SIDE boss is immune to nearly ALL the Dancers so you would need to either STEAL Reflect rings Phoenix tower and while the Thief Knife is WORLD 3 only I'm normally not even sure the DANCERS can equip it the Magic Side forking tower boss would use Return against EVERY DANCE MOVE. For the Reflect KNIGHTS even at lv 45+ WITH ALL BUT Monk mastered and using 4x Free Lancers I NEVER had them DROP a SINGLE one so I had to STEAL them In the Phoenix Tower BEFORE fighting the Magic side Forking Tower boss since ALL the dances cause it to use Return Mage Masters ONLY cause Mute 30% and ONLY last for 1 turn so its NOT reliable only reflecting its spells until it dies is the best way to kill it.
Don't swing at the Omniscient. Swing at your Bone Mail+Reflect Ring character. With Bone Mail it's always 0 damage. If Mute procs and lands after reflect, swing with your strongest attack(s). It's slow, but it's reliable.
