One theory why early bosses seem to be hard-coded to attack Yosuke more is to avoid frustrating the new player when he or she would find out the hard way that Yu dying is instant game over. Then, as the player gets more comfortable with the game, they don't do that anymore.
I'd believe it! I kinda wanna learn more about the AI in this game as a whole cuz to me, some of the bosses can def be a bit strange with some more excusable(the early ones) than others.
@@moonielivee4836 yosuke broke Chie's trail of the dragon And yosuke tried "the amagi challenge" aka asking out yukiko for a challenge So they would probably have more negative emotions towards him that to the new kid that just appeared
that almighty hand really said "oh i can't heal my guy ? fine then, fucking die", pulls up one of if not the strongest physical skill of the game, MISSES, then ragequits. glorious.
The null poison skill card never seemed too useful and I'd honestly forgotten it even existed, but it really came in clutch here. That's what makes challenge runs so interesting, it gives you a new perspective on the game.
@@TatsuHaven Personally, I would probably have farmed for a Healthy Homa at some point, and maxed the Sun S. Link in advance to get Asura before the Hollow Forest, giving access to the Unshaken Will skill card. This could make the minibosses there slightly less annoying by blocking Gorgeous King's Makajam, for example. With a final skill set of Megidolaon, Diarahan, Debilitate, Debilitate, Null Poison, *Unshaken Will,* Resist Wind (or Null Wind if upgraded), and Firm Stance, plus the *Healthy Homa accessory,* I'm pretty sure World's End would have been no more threatening than just being another strong attack. (I chose Healthy Homa in this theorycrafting because there doesn't appear to be a Null Exhaust skill card, unless there's an undocumented chance to get it from Shuffle Time or something).
I love these challenges because its SO FUNNY to think about them in-universe. "Thank you for helping me face my inner self.. I'll fight alongside you with all I got!" "That's great and all but I'm gonna need you to wait outside while I fight everything single-handedly. Welcome to the team!" Like, you just know Yosuke & Chie were chomping at the bit, begging to PLEASE just be allowed to do SOMETHING and Chadinagi was just like No
So, kinda off topic, but I love talking about my own experience in figuring out who the killer was in my first playthrough several years back, and how that made P4G my favorite video game of all time. So when you get to the point where you have to figure out who the killer is, you're literally given a list of just about every named character in the game, including the victims, party members, and all other social links, which was a great tool to throw me off since I had only played golden. A detail I only learned very recently is that you can apparently get the answer wrong like 2 times or something, which would have made it a lot less stressful for me, but I thought I had only one shot. So, I looked through the list, and made my own copy. Writing down every name, and working through each and every one of them. Long story short, I ruled out Namatame and the Party members on the grounds that they were victims, and then worked on the rest based off of whether they knew where I lived, and if any were present in the main story. Those two details narrowed the list, until my eyes fell on one of the few names left: Tohru Adachi. When I looked at his name on the list at that point, a thought occured to me. His social link... Was rank 0, the Jester... but wait, rank 0 is the Fool, so a question occured to me: "What is a jester?" My answer came to mind surprisingly quickly, likely due to me liking to study European history "A jester is a *professional* clown or fool in a medieval court. Historically, jesters were also often a cover used by spymasters and assassins in medieval Europe." From that, it fell into place. Adachi knew where we lived. He was present all throughout the main story. Hell, he was even in a position where it would be easy to deal with any evidence that could lead to him being found out. Honestly, when I chose his name, I was worried it was a red herring, but no, my reasoning, while not perhaps the best, lead me to the right conclusion. I love that the game genuinely wants you to deduce who the killer is, rather than getting a dialogue that's basically "Do you want the bad ending, Y/N?" (Yes you get one literally immediately after that where if you maxed out the Jester you can choose to cover for him, but still.) That chance to stop, and reflect on all your interactions in a new light, and givng you just enough information to figure it out yourself, cemented P4G as my favorite video game, full stop.
This was a cool read :) I wish I could share in the enthusiasm and thought process but no joke, I got spoiled on the killer two in game days before the reveal 🥲
@@TatsuHaven Oof, I hate when that happens. I remember I had the ending of P3 spoiled for me, and that pretty much destroyed any impact that it had. Adachi getting spoiled is definitely worse though when you consider that P4 is literally a murder mystery.
I also had the P3 ending spoiled for me as well. I played it around the time the "change da world. my final message" meme was trending and just got unlucky with it lol, it didn't really ruin my experience thankfully though. But yea, knowing the culprit especially so close to the finish stung hard lol
Same. Got spoiled on Persona 3, 4, AND 5. Doesn't help when yt videos have the characters face in the thumbnail and "THE TRUE KILLER????" in the title!
I got caught up on "no one suspicious showed up to the house" (referring to the letter). Then i just figured hes been to my house and it led to adachi 1st try
"Can you hear them? The bonds you've shaped with your allies... and they're here to lend you their aid!" *Fox takes a shit on the floor and yips* I CAN DO THIIIIIIIIIS!!
P4 was my first Persona game and I thought that Izanagi was a unique summon that would evolve or unlock something later and I kept him the entire game leveling him up using him until the very end. I made the game a lot harder than I should’ve looking back.
Started P5G a week or so ago, and stumbled upon Izunagi by chance. I kept hearing the second palace boss is a huge difficulty spike. Defense down the enemy, attack up myself, and I practically killed the second form in 1 hit. Also I refuse to take all those freebees they give you from the start.
Geez, a lot of up and coming creators are making some banger Persona challenges. This is dope, I've seen solo runs with the protagonist and solo Persona challenges, but this is nutty.
I kinda can’t help but wonder how the investigation team probably saw Narukami here. He saves them, doesn’t let them help, and then kicks everyone off the team so he can go solo. ALSO barely even making an effort to hang out with them. Lmao
Considering that my first playthrough of Golden was just Izanagi. Getting good skills on Izanagi won't be issue. Just an annoying grind to get cards to drop and skills to Mutate. But the Solo part will probably throw some wrenches into this plan.
It’s kind of interesting hearing of so many people who’ve only used the protagonist persona their first time playing P4G/P5R(got similar comments on my Joker/Arsene vid). Reminds me of how in Pokemon sometimes people played the whole game with just their starter.
@@dream6562 It would be a step up in challenge, imo. In base P4 Shuffle time doesn't have any SP or HP refilling cards, and iirc skill cards don't show up at all in base P4
@@sigsig1638 the do the chance time does have an hp and sp card you come across but rare to come across and the magican arcana card levels up your skill by 1 tier or lowers it by 1 one if you get a reverse, or changes it if there is no tier above or below
@@TatsuHaven I only did Solo Izanagi cause I played Vanilla 3 times and wanted to make my Golden playthrough a little different since in Golden using 1 persona is MUCH more viable.
I’m currently doing an Izanagi only on the original Vita version and at the end of Kanji’s dungeon, I’ve become an immortal god with almost all of the fucker’s stats being at 45-50.
this guy did a run like that in P5R, *though spoilers for his run* ,he can't finish it and it is VERY mentally draining ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-guC_xW0NcWU.html
Heh. I did this for fun sometime last year myself. Mine had God's Hand (Got too sick of Primal Force farming, still beat Izanami), Firm Stance, Apt Pupil, Power Charge, Regenerate 3, Mediarahan, Enduring Soul, Sharp Student and Absorb Wind. Instead of evasion stacking like most do against Izanami, I had decided to make my Izanagi an absolute wall. It was an absolute blast. Even a bit overkill. Enduring Soul never got to trigger. If I remember right, I only used shuffle time skill cards for it to be a true solo though, thus an odd pick like Sharp Student. (Perhaps not so with how much you died to crits!) You can't get Debilitate nor Heat Riser from those.
I ended up doing an Izanagi only run for my first play though even though I didn’t plan on it. I somehow ended up with the null wind skill card. Not to mention I got tempest slash by Kanji’s dungeon. By the end of the game he was practically unstoppable. Even having better stats than MAGATSU-IZANAGI when I fused him. God those were good times.
ok look between u and me...i actually did die here cuz i was no braining it but didnt know how to fit it into the vid when it was already this long but this stays between us :]
My problem with Izanagi is the crotch shield and the weird boots with axeheads. Remove those and yeah, he looks good. Same problem with Arsene and his hat.
Not in a solo setting ofc, but in golden Izanagi actually does incredibly well because of shuffle time shenanigans. Because Izanagi has good bases and growths for that point the game he often is the default persona you’ll be using especially with an actual defensive profile which is wild. Anyways because you’ll be using Izzy a lot, he ends up getting a lot of the cards, levels, and stats based on it being simply more worth to invest in the most used persona you have. His only real downside is that awful level up skill list but skill cards are thrown at you in golden, especially if you can navigate sweep bonuses regularly.
Underrated channel, great vids. I think the only thing holding you back is the upload consistency. Anyways what do you rate from worst to best between persona 3, 4 and 5. Personally i think Persona 5 is hands down the best, just the visuals and extra content is amazing. Second would be persona 3 and last persona 4. Only because actually idk thats just what i rate them. Amazing video btw
Thanks for the compliment(and agreed, time management is a big problem for me lol)! Of those games I'd probably say 4>3>5 I don't dislike 5 at all, I've done more playthroughs of it than the rest. I just love the others more that's all.
Yes, 100% yes. No question about it. I dont even need to see the video to know why. My izanagi has megidoloan, god hand, matarukaja, marakunda, 88 strength, arms master with mazoinga and mabufula. all because of the games mechanics. You can solo with theoretically any persona strictly cause of rng
Accidentally clicked on the persona 5 video just before you introduced yosuke and got taken to the point where you meat yusuke. Thought you made a minute long joke about their names being aimilar before i realised
I started this just before marie’s dungeon was about to start, so I had to pause it and save the rest for later, I finished the game yesterday and am ready to finish this video
I loved reading Marie's poetry so, I'll just stick to watching the video. It was very cool to hear "The Lazy Detective Agency" at first before it got kind of unfitting. On another note, I get implying Kanji was being useless. Yosuke, though? He was the smartest one on the team until my girl Naoto joined.
I find way easier to have a strong Izanagi in P4 throughout the game than Arsene in P5. Due to the card pulls after each battle in Persona 4, I stick with Izanagi and I get stats raises almost every time. By the end of the game I easily have all my stats at 99. Skill cards will do the rest. Arsene on the other hand, is completely useless unless you know how to fuse it with good skills
For the namatame boss instead of guarding and healing use the repel magic item and you repel the skill he sends at ya. It deals a good 700-500 damage per reflect its alot better then spam guarding and using healing items
I cleared it using Izanagi only too just cuz I couldn’t be bothered to build a better Persona. Plus, I always got stat boosts from the card shuffles so I consistently made Izanagi powerful enough to keep up with the dungeons
