Fun fact: it is possible to solo the holy grail with only joker as if joker is the only one in the battle, the holy grail will stop using will of the people after he’s used it three times.
Time do try it again. I did a Satanael Only run a while back in Merciless, so doing a Arsene Only is going to be tougher now. I have yet to fully 100% complete this game and got side-tracked by Strikers, so imma do that lol
I have been told by multiple homosapions that I look similar in appearance to a man named Ren Amamiya or more well known as Joker from the spin-off of video game series shin magami tensei called persona in which ren (more well known as joker) is the main protagonist of the 6th game in the series called persona 5
Ren (Or as he is better known, Joker.) also appears as the Protagonist of the sequel to Persona 5, a spin off of the video game series known as Shin Megami Tensei, Persona 5 Strikers. Or as it is known in Japan, the country of origin for the series known as Shin Megami Tensei, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers
Oh you mean joker from persona 5, the sequel to persona 4, the sequel to persona 3, the sequel to persona 2 eternal punishment, the sequel to persona 2 innocent sin, the sequel to revelations: persona which is a spin off of shin megami tensei which is a spin off of the megami tensei franchise?
This gives me an idea for a challenge run I want to do. Can you beat Persona 5 without Joker. Just set the party members to act on their own and have joker do nothing. Can the AI win the entire game for you?
Technically Hard is more difficult than Merciless for all non boss fights, the 3x multiplier is broken as hell. This was really enjoyable anyway, tho. After watching this I want to do a run opposite of this, so basically a "Joker gets carried" run.
@@512TheWolf512 I mean, the game is easy🤣 especially when you've beaten it 10+ times. Having essentially a dead team member, one that actually can't die or its game over, "limits" what you can do. I got through the game rather quickly but it was still a fun twist
I disagree, honestly. Sure, 3x multiplier, but in a game where you can easily get a fusion accident which gives you a free SP persona, have a DLC persona that fully refills your SP, and a lot of ways to get SP items, SP doesn't matter that much. And you don't always want a shadow to be instantly dead. Finally, considering how hard mode is so non-challenging that you don't even have to care about which element the enemy attacks with, a mode where that is punished with death makes fights at the very least require some sort of thought. And mind you, I completed P5 Hard Mode _without buying protectors for the first 5 palaces._ Because I did not realise you could do that. If Merciless killed me more often than Hard without protectors did, I think it's fair to say that both modes are easy as pie, it's just that one actually is able to punish you.
I thought of legitimately tackling the Solo, Merciless part a few days ago, and the _very next day_ I found this! Since you had to use a skill slot for Rakukaja in order to defeat the true final boss, I feel like you could _possibly_ have made it at least a little easier by learning Heat Riser instead; I'm sure you can figure out how that would've been helpful. ;)
Oh Heat Riser was definitely a much better choice to get, it was partially cuz I was lazy in doing demon negotiation while also thinking it’d be funny if my final arsene had a skill like Rakukaja for the final boss lmao
@@TatsuHaven In fairness, believe you could easily have fused Magatsu-Izanagi Picaro and itemized him for a Heat Riser card, rather than trying to negotiate with enemies in the true final palace. That aside, I've been putting in some thought for how I might tackle my own version of this run; I'm honestly not sure which/how many of these points you may or may not have figured out in your own run, so don't be surprised if I cover something you already knew. For starters, I *think* it might be possible to redeem DLC before Ryuji's awakening; if so, then I'm wondering: were you able to try the ARM PC in this fight? I'm curious as to whether the stat boosts would make a great enough difference (but don't quite recall if DLC can be redeemed this early). As for Kamoshida's Palace proper, did you happen to find and use the Breeze Ring in your run? Because there are quite a few Wind-weak enemies that are easy to defeat until the Archangel+Angel encounters near the throne room (I wouldn't be surprised if these were your choice enemies for level grinding, since they have easily exploitable weaknesses in Curse and Gun). Berith might be best saved until later. For Kamoshida, I might use the ARM PC again just to speed up the fight. Madarame's Palace: since the Atom Ring is handed out here, capturing Regent is a breeze and defeating Shiki-Ouji and Arahabaki may be possible before unlocking the Electric Chair. I'm also considering fusing a new Arsene earlier, and I think it's possible as early as level 16; one possible chain might be as follows: Regent + Agathion = Slime (inherit Mighty Gaze trait and Maragi, Mabufu, Mazio, and either Magaru, Mafrei, or Mapsi as the fourth skill) --> Hua Po + Slime = High Pixie (inherit same trait and skills) --> High Pixie + Obariyon = *Arsene* (ditto). If level 16 is reached in the first part of this infiltration, future fights should become easier after this once Arsene is caught up on EXP. For the Madarame fight, I might have my single-target spells be either Agilao+Zionga *or* Bufula+Garula. I feel like it might be worth trying to see if it's any faster than having Agilao+Bufula or Zionga+Garula. Also, I might consider adding Rakunda to speed up the fight, if I have enough blank cards for all of this. Kaneshiro's Palace: I don't think I have much to say until the first Fusion Alarm, aside from slotting Mapsi and Makajama for Take-Minakata and Bufula for Cerberus. Here, I might fuse and itemize Shiki-Ouji for Triple Down and Orpheus Picaro for Maragidyne, and also Kaguya Picaro for Diarahan at some point beforehand. By this point, I think I should also have enough money to buy a Crimson Necklace from the one shop in Kichijoji. This is because Maragidyne boosted by Mighty Gaze and Fire Amp is a heck of a lot stronger than Agidyne boosted by neither, while Diarahan makes it possible to heal less often and not have to worry about running out of beads/bead chains. Also, it may be worth washing the Sooty Ghastly Gear from Kamoshida's palace to get the Old Pajamas or especially the Succubus Pajamas, since resisting or nulling Sleep via body armor frees up the accessory slot for the aforementioned Crimson Necklace. I might also try to shock both the bodyguard and hitman with the Riot Police E, then follow up with a Stun Gun on Kaneshiro if I down the former. Next turn, I should most certainly be able to cast Mafrei twice or even thrice, then follow up with Maragidyne and see if that kills both goons. Futaba's Palace: I might get Magarula for the Mot fights, while keeping Makajama to deny the coffins the opportunity to rattle me. Alilat might be easy with the above Maragidyne combo as long as I don't get downed by Bufudyne in return. For Cogntive Wakaba, I might slot Null Phys from Izanagi Picaro instead of Repel Phys from Kaguya Picaro, plus the aforementioned Triple Down if I didn't slot it already. This should make the fight less of a joke, ideally. Okumura's Palace: I think I might try the palace without any additional -dyne spells (Maragidyne only goes so far here), although I might equip the Crystal of Greed and finally slot Repel Phys. Other than that, not much to say. Niijima's Palace: Also not much to say for most of the palace; not even for the Will Seed guardian. For the big boss fight, I might take advantage of the Special Treatment this one time to fuse Atavaka for a Brave Blade card, then fuse Rangda and trigger a Fusion Alarm at some point for Eigaon. Besides that, all other skills will be passive just so I can mimic the version of Arsene that appears in the introductory version of the escape scene. Shido's Palace: I might get (Ma-)Psiodyne, Maziodyne, (Ma-)Bufudyne, and Freidyne with specifically the midbosses in mind. For Kali and Dakini x2, I might try Marakunda, Repel Phys, and Maziodyne with Shock Boost. If I max the Tower by this point, I might shoot Kali directly for the lulz. For Shido, I think I will use Network Fusion to get Almighty Boost+Amp, then strengthen Arsene so he gets those in addition to Megidolaon. This might also be the point when I fuse Magatsu-zanagi Picaro for the aforementioned Heat Riser, and I might have my Physical attack be God's Hand if I even use it here. Depths: I might slot Magarudyne, Mafreidyne, Mamudoon, Marakunda, and Repel Ice, while keeping Megidolaon, Repel Phys, and Almighty Amp. Actually, I might pre-build Arsene for the final fight of this area, register, customize him with the aforementioned skills, dismiss him, then resummon him to immediately be ready. Royal Palace: I think I will be going for a lot of Technical damage here, with a different strategy for each fixed fight. For the final boss' first form, I think I will go for a more offensive approach, by melee-attacking the Phys-weak tentacle and using the follow-up turns for Heat Riser, Concentrate, and Megidolaon in order, with Diarahan as necessary. For the second form, I might try the Gauntlet as you did, the Fish God's Badge if it actually does anything, or even the Divine Pillar if I think t's possible to reliably tank two attacks in a row before healing that way. Plus, I might keep Almighty Boost instead of Enduring Soul if I'm feeling like a daredevil...
2/11/2023 UPDATE: agenericuser (Louis Enjoyer) pointed out in a comment that one of the guards before the 4/12 tutorial respawns, allowing for some grind time before the Ryuji awakening fight! Here's their vid showing it's possible without pure luck: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qik-n03S4Yk.html A couple of things to note that I didn't mention in the video because wow I did not want to make this video any longer than it already was: I used Fusion Alarms + The Gallows to quickly increase Arsene's stats to 99 across the board after the fight with Shido. To do any meaningful damage to Yaldabaoth, I had to fuse a new Arsene with Almighty Boost and Almighty Amp through Network Fusion, because without those skills I wasn't even doing over 490ish. Which means starting with a near Level 1 Arsene and having to get their stats maxed all over again, which took a LONG time. Not sure what my next run will be for Royal, but I do have one for Golden on the way soon(update, it's live on the channel!) edit: just got told I called Shido's Palace: Cruiser of "Wrath" when he's Pride gdi LOL
I know this is a video that was made a over half a year ago but for Adam Kadmon couldn't u have used Divine Pillar (half dmg) and firm stance to half damage which because Adam Kadmon does 1300 would do half 650 then then half again so 325 or would they not stack together also great video but it is worth noting that the holy grail from what I've heard stops healing after a couple of times with solo Joker (I think it's once but it could be more)
I think you could've simply fused a separate Persona with Almighty Boost+Amp, then given those to Arsene via gallows fusion. It's more reliable if the sacrificial Persona's skills are mostly ones the strengthened Persona can't inherit (i.e., duplicate skills and inheritance-type-restricted skills).
Ryuji's awakening fight is actually beatable, the second guard who appears before the gun tutorial on 4/12 respawns, providing an infinite exp source, you just have to grind up for awhile. recording of beating the fight on my potato pc: (ng, i used hard, but merciless works too) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qik-n03S4Yk.html
This is a great video! I'll show it to my boyfriend and family. Do you by any chance have a link to the Spongebob Ryuji call meme so I can have it? It was a hilarious meme.
Most recommend to use the best magic reducing armor and the reaper's drop which is an item that gives firm stance removing dodge chance but halfs all damage
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 Guarding only protects against one weakness hit, plus The Artist's Grace overrides Brush of Vanity's weakness-neutralizing effect (I think). Also, it's not possible to upgrade will seed accessories before their respective palaces are deleted, so no Bleeding Dry Brush (and even that would take a valuable turn to use and only drain one attack.
@@steam-powereddolphin5449 While Painter's Grace does bypass Crystal of Vanity's weakness removal, on the turns you are not hit with that, you don't have to pray to dodge Silent Snowscape
This video would be so much better if there was more time spent explaining the grind and strategies or making jokes instead of narrating the story which pretty much everyone who arrives here already know. Entertaining nonetheless.
I love that this game's balance is like dark souls'. Yeah if you don't try too hard to get every buff and exploit every mechanic the experience is very well paced and there's a sense of challenge throughout, but watch any challenge run of these two games and you'll figure out just how stupid fucking broken you can make your character if you really try to optimise what the game gives you
Fun fact: the music that is played in the yaldabaoth fight is also the same music played when u dance on the last level of persona 5 dancing in starlight
I actually tried this on my first playthrough because i came to it from smash and didn't want to deviate from him I got past kaneshiro and then stopped (yes, i was on merciless too)
There are 2 parts to Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal that, in my opinion, hold the game back from being truly amazing: Morgana's little temper tantrum and Okumura's Palace. Biggest reason behind the difficult of Okumura's Palace is trying to complete Okumura's Palace in 1 day is such a pain because of the constant SP drain due to Girimehkala and Arahabaki requiring magic to take 'em out for the first half.
By that point in the game SP becomes a non issue tbh. Even in this video, using only Joker he didn't have huge problems with SP, and if you consider that most players will have 6 more characters than that who can all hold SP recovery items it's pretty chill
I forgive Morgana because he has somewhat of an identity crisis and Ryuji is being a dumbshit like always, talking and then nobody says anything to reprimand him But yeah Okumura palace is hell, mostly navigation, SP is a non-issue once you get access to coffee and curry (and level up Sojiro)
My ranking of the hardest boss fights in persona 5 from easiest to hardest In my opinion 1.Kamoshida 2.Adam kadmon 3.wakaba 4.Madarame 5. Sae 6.okumura 7. Kanishiro 8.akechi 9. Shido 10.holy grail 11.yaldabaoth 12.azathoth
I tried it on both Hard and Merciless up to completing the 2nd palace on both ends, and had a surprisingly much easier time on Hard. The 0.65x damage dealt is a real blow. I know the 3x damage on technicals/weaknesses is a boon, but against most bosses it's not much of a factor(namely the end palace bosses). I thought Madarame would be more difficult on Hard compared to Merciless because his copies in the 2nd phase have weaknesses, but in reality, it was easier on Hard since I did a lot more damage to the paintings of the first phase(which was the main roadblock of the fight). The 2nd phase is simple on both difficulties. The average enemy is easier on Merciless for sure, but IMO the bosses are overall harder. And personally, boss difficulty is what matters more to me, especially when basic enemy encounters aren't much trouble anyways regardless of the difficulty.
before starting to watch the video i predict that starting 2nd palace it gets easier, 3rd even easier and at the 4th palace treassure reached, it becomes a joke until maybe final boss.
How did you max your health that early in the run? It’s been a while since I played, but if you’re not doing NG+ I don’t think it should be possible to reach max health that early.
“Our leader’s gone through shit because of you! It’s on!” Ryuji’s a true friend to Joker, always having his back no matter what. I loved his character in Royal and Strikers, loved the challenge (sorry for being late)
You know, I don't want to say that there is something dishonest about this run. But its almost never addressed how is your health so high. You had 400 health during the Madarame boss fight which is already hard to believe. The only way it would be possible would be if you went to the gym everyday after securing the route. Which I severely doubt you did, since you had 222 health the on the 24th of May. Which then jumps to 400 on the 4th of June. Furthermore, your accessory grants "Life Boost" which is only +20 SP. The most likely answer would be that you simply leveled up but that wouldn't explain it either, since you say later in the video that you farmed to level 35 for Kaneshiro. Which implies that you are currently between level 20 and 35. This is all circumstantial, but it gets egregious as we go on. You still have around 400 health at the start of Kaneshiro's palace implying you haven't really leveled up since Madarame nor have you gone to the gym. But you do the palace in one day and wait 14 days until you send the calling card. Unless you expect me to believe that you went to the gym day and night for 14 days then this is either impossible, or you aren't the level you claim to b since you say "I farmed to level 35". You also, as far as I'm aware, never show your level, you simply say or elude to it which makes it hard to believe you. As a result I can only come to two conclusions, the first being that you aren't cheating but you are dishonest. There's no way you can be level you claim to be with the health you have. Meaning you are more than likely a higher level than you claim to be, which isn't cheating, unless you farmed the reaper in safe mode to do it. Or you'd have to go to the gym day and night with protein for these results. The second conclusion I'm coming to is that you outright cheated, outside of farming the reaper in safe mode, or some other exploit I don't know about something had to have happened for the situation to be so favorable for you. I don't want to accuse you of something you haven't done nor do I know if you will see or respond to this, I just find it strange and would like answer.
Oh no worries on being confused. It's been over 3 years since this run and I didn't take super descriptive notes nor do I have footage besides this video because of computer space problems back then, so I'll try to remember as best as I can I want to say that I used protein(including the imported protein when available) and worked out on most if not all of my free times, and then once I got access to the gym I used that as well. I think it's possible to hit max HP around Okumura's palace if you go to the gym as much as possible? Or at least that's what I've had in my head for awhile. I found old versions of the video script and it says that I grinded to Level 30 in Mementos + while doing Mementos Requests BEFORE entering Kaneshiro's Palace, and then I was 35 for the boss. Also found "I try to heal, get put to sleep, but instead of Kaneshiro dealing technical damage to me, the Bodyguard does instead, leaving me with just about 9 HP this time. If I didn’t go to the Gym all those times, along with training in my room the night after deciding to send the calling card, I would’ve lost right here." so yea, I see I mentioned the gym only once in the final product but in the previous versions I mentioned it a couple more times. Also before the Madarame Boss I also wrote "At Level 24, with a strong looking Arsene, I used the remainder of my days to go to the gym to raise my HP and SP, and tried[to beat Madarame] again on the last possible day." in a previous version I don't think there was much for me to prioritize besides going to the gym and the handful of confidants I spent time with. I don't have hard proof since I don't have the old footage anymore unless you really want like, pictures of the old script from March 2021. This seems to be a case of me just not saying enough for the sake of trying to cut down the runtime. This video def has mistakes(even today I get comments about the Shido incorrect palace name thing) but I didn't try to be dishonest, sorry about any of the confusion
@@TatsuHaven I’m actually really grateful that you responded to this. I wanted to try a version of this challenge myself and when I got to Madarame I had trouble. When I looked back at your video the health stuck out to me, without a proper explanation I felt that it had to be a relatively dishonest reason. Thank you.
Late, but wanted to say good vid. I probably won’t ever do a run like this though. Also fun fact I’m probably the only one who enjoys the Okumurs air lock puzzle
I actually really liked that puzzle...except for that moment near the end where I fucked up the green doors and had to spend 2 minutes fixing my mistake
I know this video is like two years old now but, Madarames will seed crystal removes all of weaknesses, meaning that madarame wouldn’t have been able to target any of joker’s weaknesses
It took me so long to realise you were using the arm pc for stat buffs against madarame. I was using wardens baton, kuzunoha tubes and looking at all equipment in the game to find one that buffs all stats 😭😭😭
I do know this video is old but I do love the content so I was rewatching it and noticed something in the final fight, you could have used Heat Riser (raises all stats aside from Critical) instead of just your defense (I can’t think of the skill name).
Back then I think it was that I was too lazy to get Heat Riser + it'd be funnier to have Rakukaja as my "saving grace skill". Which worked out pretty great in the long run cuz each one of these solo runs has me learning a "lower tier/useless skill" for the final boss lol
