Can you beat Pokémon Blue using only the BUG TYPE?

Welcome to a new playlist of videos where I try to beat Pokemon Blue using a team built up of just one type.
Each type choice is decided by a randomiser wheel, then I choose one of the three spins to do the run with.
Rules
1. The wheel decides the choices
2. I can only use pokemon of that type for the run, but I am allowed HM Slaves
3. I can not heal in battle using items
4. I can utilise the badge boost glitch
5. I can use TM's & HM's
6. No double team

Mushi is a proper beast in a team battle! Im not sure how it would perform in a solo run yet haha. Spore is broken!

Pokemon Blue was my game growing up :D my siblings chose Pokemon Red, but Blue was mine :)

Oh yay thanks so honoured to be the rival, AND not sure if you are aware but my name Suzume means "Sparrow" in Japanese, so I am the PERFECT RIVAL for the bug team. Eat em up.

Helllll yeah! Dang, keeping seismic toss specifically for Agatha's Gengar, that is some good planning. And bahah, quite a typing to land on at the end - that's gonna be very interesting lol

Really enjoying this new series. Genuinely don't know how you'll be able to manage a dragon only gen one run :') especially when you couldnt beat Brock till later teen levels with a dratini

Good job on this run. Pinsir is my favorite pokemon. It was impressive you kept the seismic toss on it to hit the Generation 1 ghosts.

In all honesty, I learnt this from when I did my Pinsir solo run in the early days of my channel. It was the only way to make it possible. Big difference in levels though, to make it consistent, Pinsir had to be in the lvl 70s for two shotting. (I wouldnt recommend the video, the quality isnt the greatest compared to newer videos 😅)

I agree! In a solo run setting I found it very lacking, but in a team formation that allows it to set up, it was easily one of my strongest sweepers

Think I just saw someone comment slagging off the video :') guy needed to get a grip. Guessing RU-vid deletes them comments because of the profanity used?

There was one comment yes :') made me laugh with pity more than anything. And you're right RU-vid has already blocked the comment from being shown. To be honest, i'm chatting to them to show it because I couldn't care less if they didn't like it. Everyone's opinion on whether they like a video or not is subjective, so I don't agree that comment should be hidden.

Haha now now, we don't know if that person was having a bad day or not and just wanted to zone out and watch some Pokemon content. Obviously my video was just not for them. It happens.

Ice and normal runs are also rare to see. I think ice should get articuno since there is only like 5 possible encounters total

The ice type i've been mulling over in my head how to go about. Because which pokemon do I start with? Seel and Shellder aren't ice types to start with. They gain that typing from evolution. Only Jynx and Articuno are Ice types from base. So my first guess will be to start with Jynx... but it doesnt get great moves to start with. On my Jynx solo run I beat Brock at level 18 😅 4 levels over the level cap. Its a hard choice!

How did I forget about Lapras... 😅 Probably will be the best choice! Considering you get gifted one mid game. I wouldnt be adverse to starting with Lapras for that reason
