Seriously. Even in "Duelist of the Roses", rituals are a nightmare. And you can run away from attacks in that game! Doesn't help that it's always three monsters with attacks rarely breaching 3000 when you could give an Unhappy Maiden 3000 attack in two turns in both games.
Endgame on this would be a nightmare, you'd have to topdeck swords of revealing light & get lucky with gate guardian components probably.. but it might be possible actually..

43:32 Just putting this out for future runs, Nightmare has only monster cards in his deck. He'll never play spell or trap cards. So once you can run over Blue Eyes Ultimate, you're in the clear. Huh, and here I thought Fiends were the only archtype to have a fusion contained entirely within their own archtype (Job-Change Mirror + Fiend = Summon Skull). Good to know Insects have the same.
Dragons have one as well. I don't recall the exact combination, but I believe a Tyhone is involved. I digress, Atenza once created Red Eyes Black Dragon
Tyhone and Blackland Fire Deagon, Darkfire Deagon, or Black Dragon Jungle King. This series has me replaying and forgoing Twin Head to see what the other types can offer. Oh, and Dark Witch is a fairy exclusive, Dancing Elf + Dancing Elf, amongst other options.

Strongest generic fusion, which is the speedrunning meta, is Twin-headed thunder dragon, which its Thunder dragon base can be used in an all-out thunder deck like Kuwagata α in this run and Job-change mirror which can surprisingly be obtained from Duel Master K with the A-S POW
@@Zorãoi.2297 since he made a Zombie run, we get to see those aforementioned in-type fusions, on top of him displaying the 10 zombie fusion chain that spits out zombies, and 3 extra fuses resulting in non-zombies. Winged-Beast has Mavelus which has the Pyro Sub-type, enabling a Crimson Sunbird for that future run
I got to be 100% honest. There is a WEIRD satisfaction to watch you sweep the final 6 with super powered insect cards. I am really thankful to see that
Another trivia of Giant Scorpion of the Tundra based on its Japanese reading is that in the Tag Force series, a few of the characters who are tsundere run it as a random one-off in their decks, even if it makes zero sense for them to run. And often it's marked as one of their "Favorite" cards, which means when you unlock the ability to edit their decks you can't take it out.
This series is so fun! The amount of work you put into this is incredible. Would it be possible to try a zombie run? That's the type I always play in any game. Great work, take care! :)
6:47 Yeah all of the Guardian Stars are assigned to a certain Element (Saturn is wind btw), with the 4 "inner" Stars being the weird one that was based from the 1st Yugi vs Pegasus duel weakness system (Sun is light/white magic, Moon is dark/evil, Mercury is shadow/black magic, and Venus is illusion). 38:20 judging from the glasses and hairstyle from the portrait, I think Duel Master K would look like Digimon World's Analogman 😅 Great content as always, I'm looking forward for the Fiend and Beast-Warriors, or the very hard mode Reptile lol.
I love the edits and comedic spins you throw on these videos. I know editing stuff in can be time consuming, but I really appreciate the effort you put into this. Also loved the little trivia stuff, did not know that there was that spider as a trap card.
Fairies are actually very strong in this game since there are many Equip cards for them and many for female monsters, which many of the Fairy-type monsters are. And they are the easiest type for farming S-Tech drops
@@420mralucard I ran with the same issue with Mystical Sand, which lacked female rock card with less attack than said sand for an all-out girl powered deck (which some fusions can actually spit out men or E-whip incompatible genderless if players aren't careful with fusion priorities... ew XD)

I totally understand, but at the same time I don’t think it’s unrealistic to use it to make the game more fun when you could literally grind for Meteor B. Dragon with no issues by that point anyways

I assure you, no one will call you out on it, but Launcher Spider is a Machine. Not an Insect. No big deal though, really. It was cool seeing Metalmorph get used! A fantastic run, all the way through.
I loved this game back in the days and to see you play it with this amount of min-maxing in terms how specified your deck can possibly is blowing my mind xD in a good way! Zombies only for next rund sounds like a good relaxed thing to do before you work on Rituals only xD
Oh boy, I've basically been waiting for this video since your last one dropped! As the end of the video makes it sound like you'd already be ready for a ritual run, that's definitely where my vote goes! And concerning Raigeki - I personally never found it problematic, as in 80% of the cases, Raigeki changed nothing about the duel. If you want to limit yourself, I'd vary the amount of Raigekis between card types - for example, if you compare the insect run to the sea serpent run, it's only natural to include Raigeki more frequently if 75% of your deck are Magic and Trap cards.

By the way, I have thought about another categorie, you should think about: No (monster)fusion run. You may throw out monsters, spells and traps as long as you don't fuse. You also may for example play a thunder dragon from your hand, but you must not fuse it or fuse it to anything else. This may potentially make 3k def cards viable and highlights some old cool cards we all know and love. Hope you get the idea and thank about it. Absolutly can't wait for the next run(s)
You should be allowed to use spells or equips, whatever you want. The tricky part will be early on to not randomly fuse. I think early and mid game should be fair, late game is gonna be a bit harder I think
But if that's too easy add up the "no equip cards" rule. Would really spice things up, but I cannot predict if that's more suffering than fun. Not quite sure
@@Jon_Oh True, I haven't looked too deep into it but from what I have seen, the machines available in the starting deck are abysmally terrible and the fusions they produce desperately need equips to put up with the likes of a Pumpking. I wish you best of luck when the time comes, my man, this early game is gonna suck.
Fun fact, Giant Ballpark Insects is a relatively common deck used in events in Master Duel since the parts are rarely banned. People are using it currently in the type restricted event (Beast-Warrior/Beast/Winged Beast/Insect/Reptile).
The most common insect decks I’ve seen in master duel now due to their recent new support is Beetrooper and traptrix, mix or insects and plants but use a lot of support that use both those types Inzectors got new support too
I was playing Beetrooper myself in the event, still saw way more Giant Ballpark stuff than Beetrooper on the other side, but that's just mostly a cost thing. Beetrooper's expensive if you weren't around to pull on the normal pack w/ it and are stuck pulling on the Secret.
Mako is more of a freaky fish guy so a fish deck would seal the deal more than the sea serpent deck. Would still love to see a bird/winged beast deck, fairy deck, and fiend deck (plus zombie deck for Halloween).
You madman, you're actually gonna try and do a ritual run at one point. I look forward to it! Also, this is only the third episode in your Forbidden Memories series, but the improvements over the first two episodes are insane. I like how you kinda gave the Egypt parts of the game their own little sorta story arc, about the bugs being fumigated, and you bringing them back (and feeding the man-eater bugs) and the "...tries to shove the millenium ant farm up his butt" made me burst out laughing. Also, teh fun facts between matches WERE indeed fun! You mentioned one card being worth a lot because it only had one printing, did you know the card "Bean Soldier" only had 1 printing and can go for roughly $17USD, despite having no effect or anything? I'm not sure if I said this whne I commented on the last video, but for some reason, I like it when you read out what cards you win from the fight. I mean, half of the time they're just potatos (cards of no real use to you or your runs), but for some reason, I just like it. No idea what the next run's gonna be, but looking forward to it!

I'd also be curious to see how far through a save like that could make it/if the whole game would be possible! (although I can imagine it'd take a while, if you have a spare memory card, you can keep a Ritual save on the side and do it in little bits, while working on another run, to maybe try and save sanity a bit?... or would that kinda mess up/confuse recordings?)
Unironically insect type has been one of my most favorites of all times, how i would love konami gave them more love, but well, hard to make decks that don't include "big titty waifu"
This game was my first experience ever of YuGiOh, followed shortly after by Dualist of the Roses. So it's fantastic seeing challenge runs like this. Love the trivia and your commentary! There's definitely going to be a major variance in the difficulty with this kind of run. I imagine that Pyro and Fairy will probably be the worst.
I'm a new sub but I have to say I really enjoy these trial runs. You have great presentation and knowledge about this game inside and out. Please don't stop these themed challenge runs anytime soon.
Dang, Insects have a lot more going for them than I thought lol. Maybe next up is Pyros or Rocks? Also looking forward to seeing the Dragons run, actually, given how many of the good Dragon fusions use non Dragon types as materials.

Anyway, you should either have the Fairy run next to get it out of the way, or last because it's going to be the worst. Pyro is going to be a problem, but you do at least have a strong topend in that run in Flame Cerberus and Vermillion Sparrow, and you might have one of the Pyro monsters able to fuse with stuff for Crimson Sunbird. Fairy... does not have that.

Thank you for mentioning what would happen if you try to maximize the attack/defense points, I wondered about this and I think I asked you 2 videos ago if you could try it, since you had megamorph and other equip cards. Can't wait for the Ritual only run :D
@@Jon_Oh I can't speak for others, but I wouldn't mind if you used millennium shield and other zero attack monsters while you gather the materials for rituals
Dungeon worm certainly has ties to labyrinth wall, as in duelist of the roses (the semi chess yugioh game) labyrinth wall is actually a field wich cannot be passed trough by normal cards except for a few including dungeon worm/labyrinth tank/ shadow ghoul who automatically fuses into shadow wall when entering.

Don't quote me on that, but I recall hearing in some speedrun of FM that Nitemare doesn't actually have any spell or trap cards, so you don't need to worry about raigeki there. I could be wrong tho.
