Hearing you guys talk about Lutri filled me with joy. That little guy is born to go into a Bloomburrow otter deck, just put a restriction on him that he can't be your Companion in Commander and we're good.
My son has built an otters deck. We got him custom Lutri sleeves from a certain Danish company who do not sponsor Hijinks, simply so the good elemental boy was there in spirit.
@@arjunheart5859Wish effects should work solely because the official reasoning they don't is exceptionally goofy. "We don't have a sideboard so Wishes have nothing to get" doesn't make sense when the core rules state Wishes only care about the sideboard in sanctioned events, and use "anything you own" in all other situations.
Botany Bay not sure the name of the episode but I do know it was brought back for the Wrath of Khan and I always love the moment that Checov is recalling the name "Botany Bay? ...Botany Bay?.... Botany Bay!"
Or telling goose stories, like the time I was caught flatfooted by a goose while profoundly hungover (yet still on my way to my morning class)... they let you get good and close, then it's all "HONK!" so loud you almost shit yourself.
Not done yet, but already a favorite for mention of Little Bunny Fufu, the Big Rock Candy Mountain video was a huge favorite of mine when I was a little kid, so rare people actually seem to know about it it seems!
Khan's first episode: Space Seed! I saw it on our 19" Zenith B&W TV. I didn't get the redshirt jokes until I went to college and finally watched a Star Trek episode in color.
Olivia is into Star Trek? 😱😱. That’s awesome!! The Botany Bay was the ship that khan and his crew were discovered on in the original series Also fun format. Pick a set, buy a box, build a deck. Sweet
I am incredibly late to the party here, but yay for Olivia liking Star Trek! And I'm nerdy enough to know that the Botany Bay appeared in the TOS episode Space Seed.
woot! I'm not the only one who sometimes uses Gunpla as a token. Also, I'm a believer in Lutri in the 99 being ok. One day, he'll be set free, but til then I allow it with house rules cuz it's really no different from playing a deck with Dualcaster Mage, Twinflame, etc. Great game, I had a great time. Thanks for playing! For Olivia: Space Seed, homie. I would have given 100 extra points if there was the short clip of Chekov in Wrath saying, "Botany Bay... Oh NO!" (whispers) even though he wasn't in that episode. XD
No offense to TK, but Higher is such an underappreciated content creator, such a joy to see him on here, even if he's not on Kinnan! Not going to lie, I just said 'I would be the try-hard that chooses OG Eldraine, both for the insane cards and Kenrith'. Then Olivia picks him! lol!
Whoohoo new hijinks! Gonna catch this after work but now I’m even more excited to get home and enjoy. Super excited to see the guests and love the deck theme based off the set!
@camoyuki using the enchantment double down and protecting Laighing Jasper Flint was the main goal. It was kind of a secret commander deck but I could use counterspells and the double down enchantment
Love this episode so much. It had Light-Paws ❤, it had birds (Kastral is my new commander I'm building around so I'm excited), it has Vehicles(ISSA GUNDAM!!)and just complete chaos lol Couldn't ask for better
My friends and I did this one night, but we just did the, "open a box" route! I ended up doing Ikoria, and ran Nethroi, Apex of Death. It's a very cool thing, and I might try to rebuild that deck, but open to the whole set.
Half of my commander decks are single block decks. My favorite being a Isao Kamigawa block deck. I even wrote a short story about Isao that uses cards from the deck to tell the story.
I have LOVED the idea of building commander decks from only individual sets, but they would be pretty weak for most tables and it's hard to organize a group like this
I love how much Olivia loves vehicles! I'm the only one who plays vehicles in my play group and currently have 2 dedicated vehicle decks. Olivia please talk to the wizards and convince them to make a wuborg vehicle dedicated commander 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Olivia confirming once again that she really represents me in the committee. Loved the game! Quick question (out of the blue): can we have a time estimation on when the silver border legally review will be done? (big eyes puppy face).
First off, as a known player of hate auras, I love seeing someone else play one of my personal favorite magic cards: Frogify. I refuse to take it out of my Talrand deck. Second, while I do not recall the original episode name (never watched TOS) I think any fan of Star Trek recognizes and fears the words Botany Bay and the terror that is Khan Nunian Singh. Also Garak is the best character in all Star Trek. Come at me all.
A note that may or may not have influenced the game: Kingfisher makes 1/1 Fish, not 1/1 Bird. So while Kingfisher is a Bird the tokens it makes aren't and don't full synergize. Seemed like a missed wording note.
Just got this idea that would make for a lot of shenanigans and fun times: Everyone builds the absolute worst deck that they can come up with and then pass it onto their opponents.
I built a 4 color deck that each card type was only a single color. I would love to see your take on it. I used Elmar/Wernog as my commander pair and then all creatures were green, all enchantments were black, all instants were white, all sorceries were red, artifacts were colorless, and the mana base was a normal mana base. No multitype cards so no enchantment creatures, artifact lands, etc. I did allow abilities to have different colors like Skyshroud Elf but the mana cost had to be monocolored according to it's type. But I would love to see what you guys come up with if you were to be stuck with those restrictions.
"They grow up so fast" says Olivia. Yeah. Tell me about it... I swear my son was like 6 a few months ago. Eilidh and Olivia may remember him from Amsterdam... Game notes - Warren Warleader should, at the request of the artist, be referred to as "Edward", after the bunny the art is based on. TK reminds me a whole lot of the wrestler Big E for some reason.
Whenever you all get some time, is it possible to make a video on how to use cardsphere, please? I've watched their tutorials, but I still feel a bit lost. For example, I don't have anything linked yet with paypal. Do I have to have that linked first before I send any cards? I would assume so because how else would I receive payment? I have emailed cardsphere, but haven't heard back yet. This was 2 days ago.
Regarding Lutri: Just ban the Companion mechanic in Commander. The Companion mechanic was set up to allow other formats to have their own pseudo-Commander. EDH/Commander doesn't need Companions. We don't need decks with cards that are 'outside the game' in a faux sideboard.
