You can get a diamond blade with the right size arbor from China. They cost $5 and some are decent (mesh diamond). You do not need a 7” blade. A 4-5” blade will do. Remove the splinter guard strip from the rail. Wet the tile a bit. Run the saw backwards so the blade cuts top to bottom. Play with the depth. Some tile are so hard it’s best to score them 1/16”. I typically use an angle grinder with a diamond blade to do this; however, if there are new employees who do not yet possess the skill to cut free-hand, would the track saw work the same? It’s the same concept, right, so I’m thinking why not? Not sure if there’s any difference in power, stability, etc? Just need the tracks to make sure it’s straight haha, but theoretically there’s no difference between the angle grinder and the track saw, correct? As long as the same blade and RPM’s are utilized? I might be able to cut it on YOUR Festool track saw, but I'd say "NO WAY" if the track saw in question was mine. "Nope, no way; ain't gonna happen -- not today, not tomorrow, and not ever."
I cut 2ftx4ft tiles on my tracksaw with incredible success. What exactly do you think is going to happen to your track saw? Use it, pull the batteries out, spray it off, dry it off, good as new. Is a Festool product really worth your money if it suffers harm from a fairly common construction use? I'd think not...
@@thetrinqucy4897 hi I’m after a bit of advice. I’m a bathroom and kitchen fitter. I have the Bosch plunge saw and rails etc. I have found a supplier in the uk that make the diamond blades to suite. Have you cut porcelain and if so did you get any rip out. Thanks
