This is why India kept building the exact same Royal Enfield motobike for almost 40 years after the country gained independence from the British and became socialist, with no changes to the bike whatsoever until the early 90s when the country instituted market reforms.

All humans should have access to health care and education. That's as far as socialism should extend.

@HardikG121 It's not socialism if it's unconditional and funded through the FED or a VAT. In the FED case it's not redistribution, and in the VAT case it's a usage fee of the bare necessities that uphold the integrity of a nation. Both are cases of proper capitalism as they are both based on voluntary exchange. If you don't want to pay a VAT you don't use the services of national transactions, if you don't want a FED paycheck you don't accept it. Which makes both the antithesis of socialism.

Simple comparison: The Russian empire lost against Germany and Japan, the Soviet Union won against both. Yes all socialist countries haven’t had as strong economies as the US but that is a pretty high bar to set.

While the USSR was around, they went to space, invented the montage, got literacy rates up to 100%, doubled average life expectancy, provided everyone with power, pioneered modern medicine, invented the concept of the main battle tank, assault rifle, hovercraft, and MAD. It only fell because the whole world was against them. They fought an economic battle with the USA, France, Italy, the UK, South Korea, Japan, and countless other countries for a half a century, a feat that no capitalist country could do. Keep in mind that the Cold War wasn’t a war between capitalism and communism, it was a war between communism and everything else.
