Can you DYE LEATHER with INSTANT COFFEE?? 

I use coffee when making lather wallets too, I drink it while I dye my leather using Fiebings pro Dye, so much faster !

Coffee seems to "enhance" the natural color of the leather. It would be interesting to try a tie-dye sort of technique with that coffee. For this, type of thing, though... buy the cheap, store-brand instant coffee. For coloring purposes, I doubt there would be a difference.

I use Arabic coffee... Drink it then use the rest to strain veg. 🙌🏽

Is this dye not removed after wiping it with a wet cloth? I also have an experience. I dyed vegetable leather with the natural dye of beetroot, but it is not stable, and when I wipe it with a wet cloth, it comes off. Is there a way to install the natural dye? Thank you

I wonder if I used overdone blueberries or raspberries if this would give a similar vibe? I would have to consider the yellow tone of the leather tho. So raspberries may turn the leather an orangish shade & blueberries may give a muddy purplish finish. Hey!!! What about beets!!! They will surely work! Going to have to try beets!!!

Does the leather smell like coffee? That would be heavenly - Mmmmmm! Have you tried this with percolated coffee?

Even 8 hours the color was a little lack luster man. Try some stronger conditioner maybe.

I hope you can get some food and pet stuff and your state will help you with the things you need. Let me know if theres anything i can do to help you. As far as organization of your channel, i have a few suggestions. Check out some of these top notch leathercrafters i follow on RU-vid. They are diverse but offer a lot of potential information. ▪ Western - Weaver, SLC ▪ Asian - Hahns Atelier, Studio Hael ▪ Minimalist - Corter ▪ Eastern Europe - NiteKore, Serzh, Salty Dog They provide different perspectives but they follow basic rules all leather workers learn. I lean more towards the asian method which is more detail. But no matter the region, certain rules need to be followed or tools will get damaged and that can be expensive. Stone is NEVER used for - sewing chisels/prongs, hole punching, etc. Stone is used for - stamping and tooling. I also learned from "Fisher Workshop" that if you put clear packing tape on back of wet leather, before tooling/stamping, it won't be able to stretch out when you pound it. The color that the coffee has dyed the leather is soluble because it’s still water based. Do a lil research and find a binding liquid to add to it that will make it permanent. I personally like to use castor oil. I’ve had great success at making custom colored dyes with it.

What’s the point? Coffee is acidic. Far better dyes out there that are natural.
