Stellar Crates and Cosmic Crates, perhaps? But what would be inside? Or would it just be a unique fish, like the Honeyfin from honey fishing? Hmm... I can't help but think that this line of thinking naturally leads to some big content addition where shimmer fishing will provide a renewable way to get new items. Perhaps defeating Moonlord will spawn a Lunar Palace or something in the space layer, with new loot and new enemies, and the shimmer crates will be an alternative way to get some of that loot.

I agree with @teleportedgourd9347 Potentially you could still keep someone spawning in with the same teleport shimmer tube replicated nearby to the original. Also depends on where you need to put them. Does the teleport after 20 seconds always send you to the nearest non shimmer location or is it fixed distance?

If you were to use mods in an older version of Terraria to stack voodoo dolls, would dropping them in lava work the same as it does in the current version? Killing more than one NPC?

Myth: If you throw multiple dolls (guide voodoo doll, clothier voodoo doll) into lava it will spawn both bosses.

The clothier voodoo doll doesn't burn in lava, it only allows you to hit the clothier.

Before I attempt to fight the Eye again, I'll dig a large hole in my world with the Drill Containment Unit and fish up an Enchanted Sundial, being sure to transform it into the Moondial using shimmer. Then, I'll summon the Eye, and once it hits 4:30 AM, I'll quickly teleport up from hell to space with it using my handy Rod of Harmony, which I got after killing the Moon Lord and transforming my Rod of Discord, along with the Witch's Broom mount I got from killing some Mourning Wood. Lifesaver! I'll be able to get my Shield of Cthulhu so I can do better against Skeletron.

I've seen a few comments about maximum range on the shimmer failsafe teleport; if it is a fixed range, could you abuse that by forcing a player into another "pool" of shimmer that reconnects to the original teleporter trap and forcibly reset the shimmer failsafe?

Doesn't work. Game won't spawn dungeon guardian unless the walls are naturally generated, e.g not placed by players. Does work if you TEdit the walls in though because the game thinks they are natural walls.

Their spawn is actually a specific point in the world like the player's and it doesn't really factor in the biome as long as they have room to appear, so while it would still be cool to see an out of bounds dungeon (could check for mechanic spawning or something) they can actually just check the out of bounds cultist spawn by moving the spawn point anywhere out there.

They're really fun, I'd recommend doing some yourself if you haven't already. I've done at least a dozen since discovering this channel through that playthrough and they're not getting old yet, I can understand why they wouldn't want to stick exclusively to them but mixing in a few more randomized runs in between the more creative challenge runs would be great.

Eh, you can get that with a device near full storage My Destroyer is short and missing a tail (a few are), Golem sometimes doesn’t spawn, and a few other bugs

There's one myth that was busted can be now confirmed; Thanks to the shimmer, you can make "Unsafe" versions of the Dungeon and Spider Walls, which means artificial dungeons and Spider minibiomes can be made!

you can make a world impossible to complete by flooding a get fixed boi spawn (if terrain is such that lava won't just leak out over the edge) with lava early in the game the 200 damage from lava ignores s from when you spawn

Hello Mr. Sparking. I would like to suggest a run for Stardew. A Caveman run. What rules you use are up to you, but some of them I like are; No farming of any kind allowed No using complex machines No making of things more complicated than a band of metal(rings) Only allowed to use clubs as weapons ever Cannot speak to people as you don't use English(very optional) No reading And perhaps any other ideas you might have.

Myth: Snake/Worm-type enemies do not spawn if you sit in front of player-placed blocks - Underground Desert worms - Wyverns - Corrupt Worms - Any other worm except the Stardust & Solar Pillar ones Since Pyramid-background walls count as player-placed blocks, that's why you never get attacked by worms if you just go down through a pyramid into the desert

Plantera is the worst part about speedruns, so we know a lot about her. First of all, the 1.4.4 instabulb has to spawn between 15% and 35% of the world’s width or 65% and 85%, so it couldn’t help you for this test. In addition, game ticks can only reach 24x of default, so even though time moves at 120x speed when sleeping in journey mode, it doesn’t help Plantera spawn any faster than if you didn’t sleep

A Gamechanger Shimmer Myth: If you will make a box out of shimmer ima make an image using letters: O=Shimmer, X=air: OOOOOOOO OXXXXXXXO OXXXXXXXO OXXXXXXXO OOOOOOOO then shooting Jester Arrows inside the box makes them infinitely bounce + infinitely pierce, so if you shoot enough arrows in enough small box you can almost insta-kill any boss. PLZ SEE THAT :D May be useful in future playthroughs

Yes! Mythbusters! Myth: If you take an eligible pre-hardmode weapon from a normal world to a Remix or GFB world, will it turn into the weapon that replaced it, or gain its hardmode stats? (Wand of Sparking or Frosting, for instance, or the Aqua Scepter.) Second myth: I'll eventually get the Meowmere. (Six Master Mode ML bags, and I've gotten three Star Wraths, a couple of Terrarians, and a few Last Prisms, and even a dev set, but no Meowmere. Dude!)

All this talk of shimmer reminds me that it was added because there was one "slot" left for liquid, so we probably won't be seeing any new liquids. That means we'll need to wait until Terraria 2 to get things like oil, blood, acid, poison, and such. More esoteric liquids like mercury/quicksilver, or fantasy fluids like liquid shadows would be pretty cool, too. It's probably too much for Terraria's physics system, but liquids that can mix and form layers (like how oil floats on water) would be interesting. Gasses would be tricky to do, but modeling heavier-than-air gasses as faux liquids would probably work. Liquids that flow up instead of down would also be interesting, and/or having methods of altering gravity in a given area.

Hows this for a myth? "It's possible to avoid being hit by every boss in the game by building the right shaped rails, and using the appropriate minecart for that point in progression." (To be clear, i'd say that means default minecart for slime king and eye of cthulu, and iron for the rest, excluding the ones unlocked by the mechanical bosses, those could use the upgraded 102mph minecarts. Also, im only considering bosses who present themselves as an individual occurrence, not as part of an invasion, so this doesnt include pumpking, or the pirate ship / martian ufo, for example.)

I remember reading the patch notes warning that something bad might happen you tossed a stack of voodoo dolls into lava, then being supremely disappointed that doing so merely killed a bunch of my NPCs instead of summoning multiple Walls of Flesh like I had been hoping for. Myth: you can actually enter the dungeon pre skeletron by capping out the spawn soft cap (which stops at 15) by summoning the eoc, to summon servants and prevent the dungeon guardians from spawning.

boy, it be interesting to see someone make a legitimately good arena for hordes of mobs to fight using bouncing bullets + shimmer. The kind that you just quite literally shoot and forget, mobs die, you get loot, you win. I do miss seeing mythbusters for terraria, its always a fun and "educational" viewing experience.

Myth: (warning this is a long one) everything that the sniper rifle, golf ball and club, and every other camera trick, the new drone can do. The answer will probably be confirmed, but I want to see it. Start with meteors, we haven't had one-a those in a while

okay BUT with the shimmer softlock, what if you just copied that same teleport contraption over? It looked like you were teleported to the same block both times you moved, so possibly, theoretically, you could keep the player trapped in a bunch of shimmer teleporter tubes??

PS. You are wrong about the softlock not working. You can do it by just lining the ground the 20 second timer puts you on or all the nearby ground with tellaporters activated bt observer obove logic sensors to just put you back into the loop. Lol

12:20 Imagine your fighting a boss in your friend’s world and you die. Not only do you have to wait 30 seconds but now you have to wait an extra 20. At that point might aswell go make yourself some food and get a drink.

Myth/Idea: you could make a true soft lock by creating either a platform surrounded by a shimmer soft lock, or make it so the nearest place to teleport too is another shimmer soft lock, having you bounce between them every 20 seconds

The nano bullet bounce makes for an interesting style of map mechanic. Essentially making puzzles where you bounce the bullet between shimmer pools before it kills something, and the thing it kills could trigger something else.

So, the "Failsafe" they put in that lets you teleport out of the shimmer. Does it check for a free space? Will it always place you at the same distance away from the shimmer? If it consistently put the player at the same spot, a 2nd (and 3rd for the other direction) shimmer trap that teleports you back into the first one would surely work.
