I pretty much followed all of the above my whole life...ate alot of meat when I was younger but pretty much cut down big time for the past 15 years or so. Im 48 and was diagnosed with rectal cancer in march...just finished chemo and starting radiation next week. I guess what I'm saying is I always ate healthy dont drink that much and never smoked and still got cancer...go figure...glad to see your doing well and you look good and strong

Cancer sucks. I hope that being healthy has helped with recovering from chemo and will continue to help you as you move through treatment.

Thank you Jelena for your videos! I am getting my ileostomy reversal 2 days after Christmas. It's been a year long journey. My last 2 Signatera tests came back clear and my last CT scan was clear. Woohoo!! I have been watching your videos along my journey and they have really helped me. :-)

Thanks Jelena for this video and these tips.. I discovered having stage 3-4 colon cancer last january at the age of 30, two months after losing my older brother, undergone 2 life threatening surgeries, chemo therapy for 6 months and now I'm cancer free according to my scan results, I only have the reversal sugery left (will have it in a month or so), and I've been following your channel for some months now and it's been of a great help.. thank you ! We actually have a long family history with colon cancer, but I'm the only girl who had it (usually it's the men in the family who get it) and I've been a smoker for over 6 years but I quit as soon as I found out I had cancer. Otherwise, I used to eat healthy food and never used to exercice regularly, but now I can't wait to get my reversal surgery done to be able to exercice again. Thanks again for the all the insights you are giving us through this channel.. stay strong my fellow warrior!

Good morning hope you are well. I had a scope on Monday to check my pouch, if it had looked good and healed up I would have had my reversal but the Dr said I have a small area that needs to heal more so I did not get the reversal 😏. The Dr said he will check again in about 2 months. Thanks so much for what you do. Have a wonderful Wednesday

Hi jelena, thank you for your encouraging videos, I have a question though. During your experience with surgery and radiotherapy, were there any side effects regarding menstrual cycle or affect on ovaries? And if yes, were they temporary? And how did you manage them?

I definitely did. I did an entire video on going into menopause here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cQAz-o4kuv8.html.

Hi Jelena, I recently heard an oncologist saying one colonoscopy in each 10 years is a 100% chance to avoid colorectal cancer, since it always develops from polyps which takes appr. 10 years to become malignant. What's your opinion?

Can't believe you skipped by what is probably the most important element in prevention, eating a high fiber diet. Whole grains, legumes, fruits and veggies. A minimum of 50 grams of fiber a day.

Hi Jelena!I hope all is blessed for you. Were you nervous to get intimate with your husband while on treatment?
@SurvivorJelena
@SurvivorJelena 2 года назад
The only part I was ever nervous about was if my body would just be really uncomfortable because of going through treatment.
