I recently made my first board and after applying heat i got a raised bumpy area on the board that wasn't there before. It was completely flat when I started. Any idea why this would happen?

How do u clean it after to use for food ?

I wash mine with warm water a dish soap. Every so often, when the wood is looking a little dull, I re-apply my food safe finishing oil. This helps prolong the life of the board.
