I took my 12 year old Nephew Mason and 2 Boosted Boards to NYC to see if we could conquer the city that never sleeps! It had been a year to the day since the last time I took my nephew on a Boosted Board adventure when we met up with the Chicago E-Skate guys and Boosted Board Ambassadors (Joe and Sarah). This time we had our sights on the city that got me hooked on boosted boards to begin with, NYC.
The first thing we had to do was get our boards (my V2 Dual plus boosted board and my nephew's mini x) and batteries to the city. I decided to ship the batteries since they are larger than the FAA allows. It only cost $14 from SC to NYC, not too bad. Then we flew southwest and carried on the mini x and checked the longboard. I was able to cover the flights with points from signing up with a southwest credit card and my father in law got us a hotel room (huuuuuge thanks to Pop!!).
We were super lucky to find out that the first 3 saturdays in August feature the NYC Summer streets where Park Ave is closed to cars from the financial district all the way to central park, it was AMAZING! If you ever want to explore NYC on a bike or board the summer streets weekends are a blast!
During our summer streets ride we met up with the NYC Onewheel Riders group and RU-vidr Mario Contino. Mario was gracious enough to arrange for a meetup with us and help us learn the ropes of the city (even though I didn't bring my onewheel Pint or Plus...just boosted boards lol).

After we got a little more confident in our NYC abilities it was time to go on our own in a hunt for Casey Neistat. We found his old office and a bunch of familiar spots from past youtube videos. It was really cool to see. We even boosted over the williamsburg bridge in the spot that Casey got fined for going the wrong way :) I first found Casey Neistat on youtube looking for drone reviews, 300+ Vlogs binged later and I was hooked on the idea of getting a boosted board and one day flying through the NYC streets just like Casey. We had a blast!
