You guys ARE the most famous physical therapists on the internet. I had all the symptoms of torn Rotator cuffs. I did not follow my brother's advice who has had physical therapy for torn Rotator cuffs. He told me to see a doctor. Instead, I watched your videos and followed your advice. I would never have thought of the pillow thing for sleeping. It's been two months and my shoulders are slowly returning to near normal. Thanks.

I'm foregoing the doctor, too. Surgery is extremely rare these days, and it is a tear. I'm not sure what they can do for me 🤷🏾‍♀️

+Bob & Brad Thanks for the Video clip! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you tried - Vaniam Tonatthew Formula (search on google)? It is a smashing one off guide for getting rid of your rotator cuff pain minus the hard work. I've heard some interesting things about it and my coo-worker got cool results with it.

@@mackenzydan9279 Hi Dan, I checked the website and what struck me was how ellusive they were. Unless I am mistaken, it sounds like they are attempting to sell a collection of exercises. However, I could not find a clue as to what they are. It leads me to question whether they are attempting to profit from exercises that are freely available on the Internet I am receiving PT now for the very same problem addressed on multiple B&B videos, as well as other PT sites. Currently, my exercises include int and ext rotation exercises, "rows," and "lat pulldowns." Between PT appts, I requested a home program that I complete twice daily with B&B's resistance bands. Also, just started "hanging" at home, which is fantastic. For those of us trying to find relief without surgery (and a months of recovery and rehab), strengthening the muscles of the shoulder does require effort and compliance. I am glad your friend benefited from the product you mentioned and would be interested in learning how s/he is doing.

This video gives me hope too. Just 3-4 weeks ago I believe I had a rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. Though I can't pinpoint the exact time or motion that led to it as the final straw, I do recall something after benchpressing and one day doing dips without warming up and on a wobbly make-shift apparatus. In the weeks after I kept working out and range of motion and would decrease and pain increase. Eventually it got like the lady mentioned in the video and bad pain at night in shoulder and running down to almost the elbow. The Doc took some X-rays and concluded it to be frozen shoulder but then later said there is a possibility it is a rotator cuff. Though I haven't visited a physical rehab clinic (as recommend by the Doc) the home exersizes learned off RU-vid have already increased mobility and range of motion. Really hoping I won't need surgery to be able to swim again one day.

+Bryan Fredrick Also, does anyone know if it is not harmful to engage and work out one side of the body (chest, back, shoulder, bicep, tricep) while totally neglecting the opposite to allow the injured side to heal? Will doing so create an imbalance of structure in the body? Thanks

@@armacino89 Much better, thanks for asking. Did end up going to re-hab after all and the stuff works for a reason. Though she had me doing quite a few other exercises also over a period of a few months. So great to be able to swim again though have to work out and swim with care as there's always a sensitivity and still weaker than before the tear. I see it as kind of a life-long maintenance thing.

I like your "can-do" attitude towards healing. What would you tell somebody--me--who tore his rotator cuff twice, once falling off a plastic crate while hanging a door, and a week later sliding down a hill and landing on the same elbow. The firs time was bad enough but the second time kind of did me in. I couldn't lift my arm etc. I went to a VA hospital, had an MRI, and the surgeon told me he could operate on me but the prognosis in my case, for somebody my age (I was 70 at the time) was so poor that there was very little likelihood that a surgical repair was even possible, much less likely to be successful, and the recuperation would take months, plus a lot of post-operative care etc., so I didn't do it. Today, seven years later, my shoulder is pretty OK--I can function, I can even swim, and for some reason I can still throw a left hook (I used to bow.) fairly well, and that particular movement doesn't hurt. What hurts is moving the arm upwards laterally. And the muscle itself has visibly shrunk, along with the bicep. It also just generally hurts when I move it the wrong way. I still exercise, do pushups, dips and curls, and the left arm is noticeably weaker than my good arm, or good shoulder. The surgeon told me that eventually, without surgery, the torn tendon was going to pull the muscle--I guess the bicep--down further and further, which seems to be the case. OK, sorry to go on so long. I'm wondering about the pain. The more I use it, such as doing curls or pushups, the more it seems to hurt. But is that necessarily bad? I heard one of you say a couple times, "Don't do it if it hurts>"--but I've heard other people say, "No pain, no gain."--and I'm not necessarily looking for a pain-free existence. It's almost impossible for me to do presses with my left arm, don't have the strength for it, but should I keep trying to do them anyway?--or am I just being stubborn. Thanks a lot. I appreciate your comments.

This is good news. I stopped doing some of the exercises that caused my shoulder injury in the first place and I have noticed less pain and more range of motion, but I also find that I'm not getting the healing fully so that the shoulder is fine but then I try to exercise again or do some rapid motions above my head like jumping jacks and I will once again get some popping in the shoulder, and a bit of pain and tingling down that arm. Really wish I knew what exercises help and which ones to avoid. SO that I can strengthen without inadvertently damaging. I have watched most of your videos and some of the exercises suggested do seem to be helping. I'm just not very patient..

Yesterday the surgeon told me that I needed rotator surgery with a60% chance of success. He said without surgery the condition could worsen and I would need shoulder replacement. I decided to wait a month and will do your exercises and then revisit. The tingling in my hand is being tested for carpal tunnel. Doing that test in a month and then see the surgeon. I'll keep you posted.

Thank You for this! I'm in the over 40 category. Had an impingement on left shoulder. I attribute it mostly to not only age; but incorrect bench press and push ups my entire life. As well as neglecting upper back muscle development (imbalance) Now right side had a dislocation been a year still pain; then I tweaked it through a couple of minor accidents involving breaking a fall. (Getting old stinks!) Had an MRI today and awaiting results. I believe there is a partial tear. I just want to be mobile again! This gives me hope! I know there are several athletes who've returned to playing at professional level, but........I'm not a professional athlete and older!

+physicaltherapyvideo Well finally got results from Dr. and MRI. It's SLAP tear. Guess it happened when I fell and tried to break my fall by outstretching my arm. I was prescribed PT and then return to Dr. in 3 weeks. I went to PT immediately after Dr. and was able to get in a session! Hoping to avoid surgery. Surgery seems to be contraindicated for my age (48 yo) But I'm pretty active and athletic. Gonna be a tough call!

@justmyself1000 4 года назад
Believe it or not.....just about 100%!!! I can do pushups, bench, etc. Only thing I can't do is with my right arm/shoulder (slap tear side) is reach behind my back and grab my other arm when other arm is coming from the top. I owe my recovery to going to P.T.! My rear delts, traps, upper back have very good development as a result of learning proper exercises. I can do at least 15 proper (no cheating/kipping) pullups and I hang from the pull up bar for shoulder health. Your videos gave me good stretches which I do after training. Thank You! I can throw!

Hi Doctors, thank you so much for your great videos! Unfortunately my left shoulder was diagnosed by MRI as the "rotary cuff slightly teared", buy the range of motion is OK, the pain is also slightly. I am still doing daily work out including the boxing exercises, my only worry and question is : Will the rotary cuff tear expand and get worse with my daily work out even if I have those exercises of pain free ? Can I still practice the boxing ? I love the boxing so much. Thanks a lot for your help!

Hey guys! I´ve had a posterior shoulder pain since a year now, and i don`t think it will heal. I stopped going to the gym because of this injury ,and now I`m thinking about doing an MRI to see what is actually happening with my shoulder. I was told by a doctor that they need the MRI to see if its tear or not, and if its not i could get a cortisone shot. Will that heal my shoulder? this pain won`t stop m from doing my daily things but it definitely makes it uncomfortable. Also the pain extends to my romboids and my lats sometimes. I`m pretty desperate to put a stop to this pain.

are you able to tell what I have injured and how serious? I have shoulder related pain coming from my arm. when wearing a tshirt the pain is about half way from the shoulder joint to the end of the sleave. if i was standing on a giant clock on the floor and 12 oclock is directly in front of me, I would say its at 11 pm to pin point most pain. I can lift my arm up above my head fine and it makes no difference if i turn my thumb inwards or outwards. arms in front or side or behind, I can still lift hight above the shoulder okay. when I feel pain is with this test, I feel pain when putting my hand behind my back. I feel most pain when i have my arms in front of me. starting with my arms by my side relaxed. next i lift my hands at the elbow joints. now my forearms are level with the floor, as if im holding a tray. now, keeping my elbow be side and very still, I pivot at the elbow by moving my hands outwards, as if im reaching outwards to hold a much wider tray. going back to the clock face on the floor, I pivot only as far as 11pm (starting at 12) before I want to scream with pain. the pain/injury came on a day after excerise and has worsened with time (3 days).

I have suffered from shoulder subluxation for about six times, last three times were last year, first two being within one month. Every time it was due to either playing badminton or during warming up or cooling down exercises. Last week I was lying down hand behind my head and when I sneezed my injured shoulder suffered temporary one second subluxation. I am really worried I have to stop playing my favourite sports. What is your suggestion? (I am planning to do shrugs and internal-external rotation at 0 and 90 degrees. I think it will heal my shoulder, but not sure about returning to the game.)
