I've had excruciating shoulder/neck pain for a few days now that had brought this grown ass man to the edge of tears. Was waiting to call my doc on Monday with expectations of surgery in my future... did the first stretch you demonstrated and 90% of the pain was gone instantly.... now I just feel dumb. Will be doing these stretches daily, can't thank you enough.

Hey, don't be hard on yourself, we are taught to not give self care, to only use big phama. Be proud that you found them and have empowered yourself. This is my go to when any part of my body gets an issue. Stretching brings lubrication to the joints, so every little joint needs to be tugged on stretched, pulled and rotated, ESPECIALLY TOES AND FINGERS.

As an orthopedic massage therapist I find a lot of my construction working patients deal with this same trouble because of their body mechanics at work which of course is hard to manage. I try to encourage them to sit back every 15 minutes and roll their shoulders back and stretch out their arms to open the chest muscles to take tension out so the shoulders can go back into better alignment. I get so much out of watching your videos that help me in my practice! Thank you thank you thank you.

I have osteoarthritis in my shoulder, elbow, wrist and hips ... The shoulder arthritis makes my shoulder feel like it's dislocated and my partner has to do physio on it to click it in place.. when I'm in pain with it no meds help only clicking in place does .. and I'm on morphine, pregabalin, paracetamol and ibuprofen... I'm in a no win situation because I can't sleep on my back and due to my hips I have to alternate sides so end up sleeping on my bad shoulder

You’re not gonna believe this, I’ve been dealing with a lot of pain in my right shoulder for the last month due to overuse and probably a poor posture when sitting at my desk. I did the very first posture exercise by pulling your shoulders together you mentioned and the pain disappeared about 50% after doing just one set of those exercises. After doing the same exercise a second time the pain was completely gone!!! I just gave you a thumbs up and subscribed. Next I’d like to see some thing for the IT band. You’ve probably already done one so I’ll have to do a search. Thanks again you guys are incredible.

I’m 32 years old and have been having physiotherapy and osteopathy on my shoulder on and off since I was 17. I had an MRI scan around 3 years ago that just showed inflamed tendons and the surgeon wasn’t keen to open it up and take a closer look for fear of it being a fruitless endeavour. I’m very athletic and this evening had some pain in the usual place and discovered this video. I’ve gone to bed with no pain and will pray for a good workout tomorrow with no issues. I have been a miner for decades. I spent the first several years of my career on jacklegs and stoppers. The next several years I worked on more automated equipment. Then I went back to a jackleg. About 15 months ago I pull much too hard on a mudded steel. I didn’t really notice it at first but as the time went by it got quite sore. About ten hours or so ago I watched your video, and as the day went by I did as you guys suggested. This evening I put my arm up on the back of the couch and heard pop in my shoulder. A bloody miracle. Its feeling better and better, almost to the point of no discomfort at all. I will continue with your exercises and I’m sure it’s going to improve even more. Might want to also address the primary cause. Sleeping on your shoulder, putting 8 hours of pressure on the joint. If overweight you should be even more careful. If pain is constant and has been there for a long time, for immediate relief, sleep on your back on a flat place, even the floor, with something under you that does Not reach all the way to the outer edge of the shoulder. A narrow camp pad or the like will do. This gives the shoulder joint the chance to move anteriorly by gravity and relive the pressure. One night will bring relief and two nights of this will bring amazing results. As a side sleeper, take your usual position and "unfold" just enough to take the weight off that shoulder. It's a very small movement, not enough to unbalance you, but takes all the pressure off the joint and allows it to heal or not cause the problem in the first place.

I’m a 65 yr old who works out with weights 4 to 5 times a week with my 35 yr old son so I end up pushing myself more than I probably should. I developed horrible pain in my left shoulder and after watching your videos I realized it was caused by an impingement of the tendon as I was able to relieve the pain doing some of the stretches you demonstrated. The next time I did bench presses, the pain came back but this time it was in my right shoulder. My left felt great but now my right was in agony. I’m guessing I had been overcompensating for the pain in my left and now that I didn’t have to the right was out of balance? Anyway, I’m now much more conscious of keeping those joint as open as possible using the tips you provided. Thanks so much.

@mrjarsberry do yourself a favor and stop doing barbell bench press completely. You don’t need that exercise to build a strong good looking chest. Stick to dumbbell’s, machines, cables and dips. There’s no tool that has damaged more shoulders than the barbell bench press.

I Always enjoy your videos. Many time my elderly patients or clients with long term problems need a less painful place to start. It's helpful to start them by disengaging postural muscles so they can focus on phasic muscles when beginning rehab, especially in and around the shoulder capsule. Proprioception can work for us or against us. I will usually have a patient lay down to disengage the postural muscles and teach them their first exercises while laying on their back.

Pues dejé de hacer deporte sólo 2 semanas mientras hacía los ejercicios del video correctamente, después de esas semanas me dejó de doler, pero por precaución sigo ejercitando el hombro. Sin embargo las posturas son muy relajantes.

I’ve tried a number of typical exercises and stretches for an upper arm shoulder issue caused by tennis, particularly the service action. These have helped somewhat. The one that I haven’t been doing is at 10.36 here: external rotations, squeezing shoulder blades. My God this helped, immediate relief from the soreness!

I've got extreme pain from bursitis on my left shoulder whenever I raise my arm. I've been doing these for about a week just to the point if pain. Seems to be helping. I'll give an update in a month. Thank you Bob and Brad!

I've been dealing with this for more than a year. It got better and then jumped to the other shoulder! I felt a pop right before the first one started getting better.

Thanks Bob & Brad. Even just doing these stretches along with you, it seemed to help my upper arm and shoulder. Will definitely keep doing these as needed.

As a drummer all my ligaments and tendons hurt, I really need to be more diligent stretching prior to playing. Nice to see other methods to relieve pain

Thanks for the great exercises. On the Mulligan I'm not really sure which way I'm pushing. Perhaps Brad could show a vector heading as Bob does the walk back and describe a little as to where the pressure occurs (where you're feeling the tension etc.) as you do in other exercises.

Great video guys. I am doing a majority of these stretches for my frozen shoulder but love your take on some of the ones I was having difficulty doing. e.g. the belt versus a towel. Thanks for making these.

As a Sign Language Interpreter I appreciate this. Our repetitive motion injuries happen most commonly in the shoulder or the wrist.

Hoping this will help me, during a fall, I grabbed the freezer and my shoulder pops now. Love Bob and Brad, these 2 guys saved me so much misery after watching their video about leg cramps. Mine were so painful at night and I was afraid to go to bed and would sit up trying to sleep. Bob and Brad said a big percentage of people with the problem were dehydrated. I started drinking more water and even keep water on my nightstand and I have not had any more leg cramps. So thankful for these 2 men.

The past couple of weeks I have been struggling with shoulder pain as you both described. Yes, the one I always consider to be the good shoulder. Working out came to a halt along with interrupted sleep every night. So as the video is rolling I’m trying out the exercises and I first notice the pinch is subsiding and the beginning of some relief. I’ll will practice the various exercises, work on posture, and be creative in pillow management. Thanks for the info and the great presentation.
