The Canada Federal Government needs tp Investagate these buisnesess that claim the can't get canadian workers to do jobs they offer. Most of the time these Employers don't want to pay a decent wage. amost canadian workers can't make a living from the wage they offer and it is seasanal work, Not offering full time hours. So what these employers Do Exploit The Mirgrant Workers. These EMPLOYERS Pay These Workers Pennies On The Dollar An Hour To Work For Them. The Government NEEDS TO DO THERE JOB.

When i was just 18 years old (long time ago for me) i worked on a farm and my job was to supervise migrant workers. And I can confirm, these people were often mistreated. When they complained to me i was ordered to punish them by giving them the most difficult, messy, uncomfortable jobs and to billet them in the older pickers cabins which were basically dilapidated hovels, think of a garage sized house lacking insulation, badly wired with leaky faucets and no hot water. However we would not threaten, insult, yell or any of that at the workers. There was also no sexual exploitation, though one female migrant worker actually did grab my crotch and try to push herself on me... im still not sure what to think about that lol. So in conclusion this has been going on for decades, but it seems like its gotten a lot worse over time.
@bobthekobb

If you want locals to work on the farm, pay them well, treat them well and expect decent results. Otherwise work the migrant workers to the bone but extend that to all on work visa. And stop handing out pr except maybe to highly skilled workers only through employer similar to usa.

@@asadb1990 not these days. I don't know any farmer able to pay less then $25/hr. Demand is up, wages are up and the worker has the say in the wage. @@asadb1990 I would love to see. But so far their pictures are larger then student housing in Vancouver. Also it comes back to the fact that the workers call the shots right now. I can't imagine. My uncle had to build a whole new housing structure to get employees. I am just having a hard time swallowing the fact that the 2 months max these workers work (Sundays and bad weather days off) And they are told that when the weather is good, they are working. Food is brought out.... I'm not buying what the UN is selling.

What else is to be expected from Capitalism. The capitalist class keeps control by squeezing labour as much as possible. Given the opportunity they would revert back to slavery. Debt peonage and serfdom is what we have to contend with for now . ALL POWER TO THE WORKING CLASS.

Very depressing as always. But I would say this has been a reality known now for a long time, much more so than knowing what had happening and is still happening to the Indigenous populations that has recently reached mass consciousness in Canada. It is bad enough for poor citizens in Canada. Having been on the poor side of the equation but still happy despite that as I do have enough, I know a lot of people not as lucky as myself. I help support a few of them, now that I can. Many people live in a dystopian world and they are as bad off as being in a scifi/horror fiction movie. We are still failing Indigenous people in Canada. Keep talking about all of this. This probably speaks in part to the fact that probably farmers do not get enough of the slice of economic pie when it comes to food. Perhaps bad actors would not share any if that changed though, with foreign workers in farming ir other industries etc.

In Saskatoon, restaurant employers are asking $20,000 to 40,000 for SINP papers and some are forcing employees to work for 1 to 2 years. Legally they should give after 6 months of work. The main culprits are Indian restaurants owners and supervisors and managers. Canada is even far behind third world countries in terms of rules and regulations and its implementation. There is should be an immediate change and protect its workers from exploitation.

I mean, who put this policy together in the first place? Did the not see the giant loopholes? This program, and the entire immigration file, should be put in dry dock, rebuilt and relaunched.
