This is the recording of our 'In conversation with Niamh O'Donnell, head of the Irish Theatre Institute, and Theatre Critic and Scholar Karen Fricker' that happened on February 1st.
Niamh is the Director of the Irish Theatre Institute and has 29 years of professional experience in the arts sector. She has worked with many leading organizations in Ireland, including Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre as Director, Project Arts Centre as Executive Producer, The Gallery of Photography, Black Church Print Studio (an artists’ resource organization for Fine Art Print), and Arthouse Multimedia Centre.
Karen Fricker writes about theatre for the Toronto Star, is an editorial advisor at Intermission magazine, and is an adjunct professor of Dramatic Arts at Brock University. She has a PhD in theatre studies from the Samuel Beckett Centre at Trinity College, Dublin, and since 2004 has been co-facilitator of the Young Critics Programme at Youth Theatre Ireland. She is co-director of the Circus and its Others research project, holding its fourth international conference in Bogotá in February-March this year, and is involved in numerous projects around equitable theatre criticism practice and training.
