"The beer store" www.thebeerstore.ca/ownership-governance/open-ownership and "Liquor Store (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) www.lcbo.com are actually govt owned trademarked brands. Most supermarkets / corner stores can't sell alcohol. We still have normal thing where restaurants / bars serve drinks but there are no "liquor store on the corner" type places. The govt has been planning for the opening of "Ontario Cannabis Store" ocscannabisupdates.com for awhile now - finding locations / branding etc.

It's still pretty much decriminalization. I'm dealing with the same shit here in Massachusetts. Retail shops open up in July and if I went in and tried to buy a lb they'd say no because it's against the law to have more than 10ozs. This isn't even a problem my broke ass will ever encounter, it's just the principle. If it's truly legal you should be able to possess as much as you please, just like alcohol.
