So as a goalie I will go and say that loss for Germany does not sit on Wolf's shoulders that was one of the most atrocious games by a hockey team I've seen in my life
Whoever is the head coach for Germany should be fired. You almost never leave a goalie in for more than five goals against, especially in a blowout. Wolf was visibly upset after the 6th goal, absolutely awful that the coach didn’t pull him to preserve his confidence. Pulling him after 9 is far too late.
@@samuelsheldon7829 it’s kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation, the back up goalie doesn’t want to go in there either and have his confidence ruined
I'm a born a raised Nova Scotian, and earlier this year I moved to Alberta. I can't believe as soon as I leave, the world juniors come to Halifax with Heave Away as the goal song.. Maybe the energy of this crowd will show people that a Halifax NHL team would be amazing.
I would love that myself but Quebec City should get one ahead of Halifax and btw I am from NS. Lets get rid of the Seattle Kraken, Arizona Coyotes and Florida Panthers and move those franchises to Canada where they belong! Halifax, Quebec and Regina. One team in each province with the Halifax team representing Atlantic Canada. The Halifax Lobsters - We'll crush the hell out of the opposition.
@@Firearcher4 are you retarded quebec already has a nhl team… halifax BREEDS ELITE NHL/ hockey players there’s mad talent on this province for hockey we need a team before quebec city tf lmao y’all are a joke
@@my3dviews yeah but my theory is if places like Columbus and Phoenix florida and other teams who are always losing money bc they never sell out. But I get it the nhl is about making money and Halifax just doesnt cut it. Sucks
@@brentsenior7830 Ya, before the outrageous player salaries, I would agree that smaller Canadian cities would be good places for NHL teams. I recall in the 80s, there was talk of moving the St. Louis Blues to Saskatoon. But even then the NHL didn't want teams in small cities.
Bedard is a generational talent he is absolutely dominant cant wait too see what team drafts him they are going to be so lucky cant wait too see what he does in the nhl!
@@xTymezz I just meant more his speed is more comparable too MacKinnon that is who he reminds me of in that aspect he is a pretty fast skater. He has Matthew's shot and McDavids hands yes I agree with that.
Oh man, I feel so bad for Germany. Imagine, you finish the second period, loosing 9:1...what did they think about in the break? It was such a hit for their minds, I hope these guys won't loose other games in such a cruel way :( Edited: "Cruel" I meant such a big difference in score. Guys, calm down please. I've watched hockey since I was 10, I am 21 now. I understand this game and how world hierarchy works. No doubt, that it will be a lesson for Germany, but the excellence of Canada is TOO overwhelming and the level of german u20 team is too low in compare with Canada
It used to be teams could let up on other teams if the score was lopsided, nowadays teams are taught to push petal to the metal until the final buzzer, no mercy. Germany knows that. They would do the same to Canada if it ever came to that.
Unfortunately, it's still under a .800 save percentage. He was really hung out to dry on this one. Who really wants to face Canada after they had a 5-2 loss? You know Canada will bounce back and hard.
As a German I'm always cheering for Canada after Germany... and yeah... I mean it's Icehockey. It's in the Canadian DNA. I still think Icehockey gets more popular here and there are some great German talents waiting to play in the NHL at some point.
its about the game itself if it qas canada US in the final it isnt a game misconduct but in a blown out game where the only goal of the check is to injure a player it becomes a misconduct for player safety
How the f**k was that a penalty at all? They both ran into each other's heads! If anything, it was the Canadian player spinning around and running into the Germany player! How did they REVIEW that and uphold a penalty call???
@@nostrum6410 it's like when you get a high sticking penalty, sometimes you're not even the one who lifted your stick but you're still responsible for it. The same applies here, he didn't intent to hit Fantilli in the face but it still happened, it sucks for the german kid but refs are gonna call it everytime
Funny how all the scouts, analysts and what-have-yous were saying Bedard was too small and not skilled enough to crack the top 5 in the Draft... now he's proving to be a better player than Wright and will likely go first overall!! And he is becoming a Canadian hockey hero even before he gets drafted!!
What impresses me about Wolf here is how calm and collected he is considering how many goals were made on him, I've never played hockey but knowing my temper and confidence I would have wacked so many sticks against the post lmao
....and playing Canada when the Powerplays were at one point 10--1 including a soft 5 minute major......Yes, you could almost safely bet on Canada after losing to Chechia.
@@zerofox7104 Hahahaha....Yes, that must be it. There is no room in today's modern game for collision's like we witnessed in the 2nd period...lmao. Well, we will see how this transpires vs stiffer competition. So far we have a loss to Czechia and a Powerplay drill vs Germany to go by.....and Wright calling out his team already. Stay tuned, this tournament could get interesting.
Round of applause for our German friends despite their heavy loss boys. We know they didn't have a good night at all and are usually a much more capable side.
What a game for Canada Bedard is incredible definitely a Generational player Phenom unequivocally.. Hope he stays in Canada maybe Montreal pics him up in 2023 draft..
@@jamiecrawford7220 Toronto cant pick him, they are not even close to have a chance at it (11th worst is the lowest) Currently montreal have 9 and 7th worst. I think hes better off there to considering how young everyone is that team will be good for so long. But yeah chances are still low
As a Habs fan… yeah we’ll take that kid #16 if the opportunity presents itself!! He is looking pretty darn good in his Team Canada jersey. A Habs jersey would look even better!! 😂
Yeah generational player to Montréal for a waste of a career 😆. I'm from Montreal and i hope he doesn't come here, hope he goes to Chicago play with toews or Kane.
Kudos for Germany to enter these tournaments for development. You can't get better if you don't play the top countries. This is similar to Canada and the World Cup of Football.
Dam I live in Canada and I can say Canada is one of the best teams in hockey especially because they have a advantage because there is more snow in Canada
gotta feel sorry for the German team, having to face angry Canada after losing to the Czeks. Canada has everything needed to win the tourney, IF the team can remain disciplined for a full 60 minutes/game. no need to dish out brutal checks, risk injuries, and take penalties. solid defence, 2-way skating, fore check with speed will win games for this squad.
I keep waiting for Germany to become the next great hockey nation, but it never seems to happen. I know soccer is the #1 sport there, but a country with that population can be good at two sports. Sweden, with a tiny population, manages to be one of the best countries in hockey and is still pretty good at soccer.
Tbf if they didn't go head to head his shoulder would have caught the Canadian guy in the chin. I don't like IIHF rules at all but this was definitely at LEAST as justifiable as the one that Canada took the other night vs Czechs
Apparently the Canadians first game was a big disaster. I watch the game against Germany and was pleasantly surprised to see team Canada was carrying the puck into the offensive zone instead of playing the dump and chase game that has been taught over the last few decades !
im sorry but 50 shots.... poor german goalie also cant believe they didnt pull the goalie at 5 or 6 for his mental performance for the rest of the tourney
Calm down. Its a small arena and small crowd. They didn't make a damn peep when the Czechs gave Canada a beating so they are easily silenced. Its one thing to pack a small rink and cheer for a blowout win its another to fill a large arena and cheer for your team if its losing. They do not deserve and NHL team ever. Even if they could afford one, but they are too broke. Not a lot of money catching cod. The cod are almost gone.
@@TheUnforgiven69 if you think All they do is catch fish out there your an idiot. I said the deserve a team and they could afford it but what they cant bring is ad revenue in the states. You think Phoenix Arizona is making money huh they dont make a god dam thing. Sooo why does Arizona get a team.....
@@brentsenior7830 No need to call names. But we all now if the cod aren't biting no one makes money in that poverty stricken province. Dreams of a NHL team are just that...dreams. You have to have more than few fans screaming over a blowout win in a 4 thousand seat arena. I am only trying to wake you up from your delusions. Dont hurl insults when someone points out how out of touch you are with reality lol
@@TheUnforgiven69 also a quick Google search would show shipping is nova Scotias best industry. Just bc they are an island doesn't mean all they do is fish. Your ignorance is strong
@@destroyerofkooda123 well we just beat the czhecs and if i remember correctly you guys lost to them😁Cant wait for the game against you guys it will certainly be a good one!
I was absolutely sure that when they showed the ref it would state it was overruled. Why not give Canada the gold straight away if they need help like that in a match they are easily winning...
at this point Canada is just padding the numbers in this game, players barely look happy getting goals, almost like its a natural thing to get them lol.
Man I fell bad when there is a blow out. I understand as a Canadian that they want to show their full potential and got a lot of points but it just sad
@@NCS06 I already noticed last year, that whenever a smaller hockey nation plays a favourite after already playing the night before, it often ends in a blow out. These nations are good enough to keep the game tight when being rested, but after a close game the night before, they struggle mightily. They are still junior players after all.
Damn this was an absolute blowout lol I don’t even think Germany could beat Canada this badly in football/soccer even if the talent disparity is similar in both opposite cases
