Well I can confidently say I and I'm sure many other fighting aged men would NEVER fight for this country in it's current state. Especially with this story being consider "military history" maybe Mercedes (the reporter) can dig the trenches?
before? bro, wake up. World War III is happening now and we're getting destroyed from within for the past 10 - 15 years.... The enemy has been allowed into our countries with open arms by these "woke women".
Women factually do not make good leaders. Their thought process is far different than men, they think and act with emotion and possibility, men use logic and probability.
Get over it! When was the last time you disarmed a bomb or a land mine in Afghanistan? 😮 it isn’t DEI, you weren’t listening and made that up in your head. You’re just insecure because she’s tougher than you. She had to be tough to do that job and get this job.
We found out through a 'Leak' there was a new CDS. By the Way Wayne Eyre is only 58 and couls have served more y ears , he was told to resign because of his comments on budget short fall ( self balancing) for the military
That’s what we are all about. Making history. Who cares if she may not have been the most qualified or competent, at least we made history and everyone gets a gold star.
Well just look at all the comments assuming (with no evidence) she isn't fit for the job. That kind of misogyny is why stories like this make the news. Sexism is still alive.
Another move designed to strike fear into the hearts of Canada's adversaries. Carignan just doesn't have the credentials for the position but she is a woman so I guess that will make up for the rest. She was Chief of Professional Conduct and Culture so the Canadian Armed Forces will be in good hands when in comes to diversity and inclusion.
I'm curious, what credentials is she lacking? I think if you took 1 minute out of your internet trolling to read her resume you'd she she's well qualified. A simple google search should suffice.
@@howardfrench3869 Not trolling. I couldn't care less what you snowflakes think. She is a political appointee who has no combat experience, 5CER was never in combat other units of 5CMB were. Officers with combat experience should always be given preference in promotion. But then that's just silly old common sense.
@@howardfrench3869 engineer, not from tanks or infantry or a fighter pilot .. russia and esp china both of whom respect strength above all, are hardly going to be intimidated and by a woman, esp one who tries to save rugs rather than her own troops in Iraq ,and one whose preceding command was on sexual misconduct not chief of staff of the army . its a very poor choice that Reeks of weakness and at hardly a worse time ,and Im pretty sure its set off cackles in the kremlin and in beijing
@@ye333 Couldn't have said it better myself and here we are on the cusp of all out war, with Canuck special forces operating in Ukraine laying mines on main routes out of Belarus and conducting engineering surveys in the Sumy region. The last thing we need is a change of command from experienced leaders to one that may or may not have the guts to make the snap decisions required in time of war
She abandoned her own troops in Iraq and tried to use space in vehicles to take her personal carpets with her. It was a US officer who stepped in and turned her around.
@@eXTreematorit will, someone just has to make it. A real war will probably do the trick. And with the virtue signaling from the government a real war is probably on the way. Why show strength to the world when you can show how inclusive you are?
@@cathycorrigan7106 Um, no, the majority of those young boys had extensive training prior to landing on the beaches, pilots and navy. Perhaps you should do some research. The men in my family served WW1, WW11 and Korea. They didn't just fly by the seat of their pants.
To be fair , this coming from the PMO,the Prime Ministers office ,where yes even now at this time in the world, thats ,still, apparently their priority for the military . God help us
@@ayomidebusari5881 A very small number were on assignment via NORAD commitments, but none flew sorties or were involved in active air campaigns. They flew training missions on their new C-17s. This woman was/is an engineer- no way she was dismantling IEDs in Iraq.
I would bet that you would cry about war crimes if you got in a conflict with Canada. Remember you people dont like to fight at 3am as per the Geneva convention.
War would be homegrown. Cant bomb your own towns. But there millions of Canadians IN the US right now that would sabotage from the inside if told to do so. It would make 9/11 look like nothing.
The average woman does not understand the physicality of war. I just read a novel by a woman author who had a character physically push another character, and to her, a basic fall was enough to split his head open and gush blood. Any man knows that wouldn't be enough force--but to most women, force of any kind is a frightening, unexplainable thing. I also saw a video of a woman who couldn't latch down the canopy of her propeller airplane, so it flew off in mid-flight. She gently tapped the canopy closed--and any man would know that is not enough force. There are just tens of thousands of little experiences that men accumulate in their lives that prepare them to understand the kinetic energy of war. Finally, a man is not naturally afraid of a woman, but a woman is naturally afraid of a man. This negatively plays into command dynamics where a woman is asked to lead men under her. This might work in a business, but when bombs start falling, that's another thing. No matter how many Hollywood movies show women as superheroes, I am confident that an army led by a completely female command would fail spectacularly, just as much as a nursery ran by an all-male group would end in disaster.
As a woman, I tend to agree with you. Strategically she may be sound, but physically definitely not. That being said, I see way too many women making decisions with their heart. I'm guilty of it too. There is nothing wrong with that, but in times of war, that's not a good thing.
@@sfrwriter Making decisions with your heart is the very strength of a woman. In fact, I once heard a woman say that a woman's greatest strength is her vulnerability--I was a little shocked at first, but realized she had a point. It's that openness and sensitivity that is harder (but not impossible) for men to show, yet it comes effortlessly for a woman.
No funding, no personnel, no equipment, but they checked all their d i e boxes, and they kicked anyone out that didn't take that thing that makes grown healthy physically fit adults drop dead of heart problems when they exert themselves, like during lost distance runs.....it's like they're specifically trying to handicap us
What do you expect from a government who told their citizens that taking away their guns would solve gun crime just to tell the citizens a few years later to leave their car keys by the door so the armed gunmen can get them easier…
We have the best trained as usual but without the best equipment or enough of it and not nearly enough soldiers. We keep riding on the back of the U.S. instead of standing up for ourselves. WAKE THE HELL UP CANADA.
The Global news Yaketeer is spinning the story as if Afghanistan combat was a women only role. @0:30 she says that this new appointee was disarming bombs and that was an incredibly important job done by her. FYI, In total, 158 Canadian military personnel, including 4 women, lost their lives in service in Afghanistan. Is this fair ? Only four women gave their lives. Where is the equality here ????
Perfectly fine with this appointment. I’m a retired service member, 1967-96. Hopefully she will address the real issues facing the 2024 Canadian military. As follows: 1) Neither traditional governing party since WW2 has kept our military equipment current 2) Both traditional governing parties have reduced the military size 3) both traditional governing parties failed to fix the broken procurement system 4) both traditional governing parties cut & clawed back military budgets 5) both parties failed to connect the dots of international trade with the EU & US to NATO & Free Trade 6) both parties failed veterans which impacts recruitment The Canadian voter has never made the status of Canada’s military a voting priority. The Canadian voter wants natural disaster relief, failed senior citizen care Center relief & search & rescue from its military. Nothing else. The Canadian military has been offered military uniform changes to reflect what their grandparents wore in WW2 along with gender neutral clothing choices when selecting their 2024 uniform attire. Neither of which will help them survive on a modern day battlefield.
