A great addition to the Thompson Tribute from the Bowling Alley. The sunshine really highlites the high rocky slopes at Lasha!

I love those close-ups of the rock sheds, then when you zoom out, we get a spectacularly awesome view of the mountains dwarfing the trains - as if we are watching an N-Scale train! Great catch Tyson and a perfect video!🤗 (I kinda liked it. lol) 🚂Lawrence

Hey Bud Those were some impressive tablets and grainers lineup. Loved the visuals. How's the water table at the Canyon this time of the year?

So how far would the hi-rail guys at the rock shed have to travel to get there? Still my favorite stretch of rail.
@TracksideTyson

Think about it for a second..the hi rail has small train wheels, that’s how! 😂

@@TracksideTyson I know all about hi-rail. Question was when I see a couple of pickups at one of the sheds how many mile of track did they run on to get there?
@TracksideTyson
@TracksideTyson 5 месяцев назад
Okay I misunderstood the question. They would most likely have traveled from Lytton to that location so most likely 5-10 miles.

Yes Canadian Pacific railroad is now CPKC which merged with KCS so you will now see KCS all over CPKC trains.

How did they get vehicular access down there?
@daveluehr8685
@daveluehr8685 5 месяцев назад
By rail only with a vehicle with Hy-Rail wheels and I think there is a bunch of ballast rail height to make a take-off spot - think road crossing with an 10 foot long road.
@johnmcgarvie4061
@johnmcgarvie4061 5 месяцев назад
@@daveluehr8685 the hi-rail trucks probably accessed the rails at Lytton then made a quick EB run to Lasha.

It’s named hi-rail which is a railroad employees truck with small metal wheels that comes down with hydraulics, these trucks can get on the tracks at a road crossing, and like someone had mentioned the railroad ballast (rocks) would be at track height for them to get off for trains to pass.
