My mate and his partner have got a narrow boat and its moored in a Marina , and he sold his house and since getting the boat his health has improved ( they wanted him to take insulin for his diabetes since getting the boat , his diabetes has subsided.) He's walking more and he is happy. Hope your friend is as happy as my mate and enjoys his new adventure xx

Hi Kerry - that was so so interesting - so pleased for Jordan, what a life change. I have spent a couple of weeks on a narrowboat. Years ago had a free holiday to deliver a boat from Shropshire to Oxford. I’ll never forget how we got the boat stuck on a roof of a submerged car in Birmingham 😂 great memories. Thanks for this quick informative no messing about video. I have been looking at life on a canal boat recently. I live near the Grand Union Canal. I had my money card stolen from me which had the funds to start looking for a small boat so unfortunately this left me gutted and I had to stop my tracks toward the boat life. However this time next year, I believe with all the help of the different boaters out there I will be able to make a choice on which boat I am suited to. Thank you for your videos. Thanks Karen, yeah for sure when I’m a little more settled it’s definitely something I might consider, but too many trips abroad planned for the next few years to warrant it right now x

Defo does 🐈⬛ wow how many do you have? There’s quite a few cats in the marina and some who have house cats that just enjoy pottering around the boat x
You should look into composting toilets! As I am aware, these are a game changer for van life. I’m very jealous of this life style, I love fishing and of course nature. I do have a family but toy with the idea, maybe when I retire with my partner we would travel the rivers of England. Great in-sight, enjoy 👍🏼

Never been on one before but my parents went on a weeks holiday with another couple years ago, they went away best of friends and came back not speaking lol. It does sound an idyllic way of like but I was surprised to see so many of them them. Not that keen on the portopotty emptying every day but I suppose it is not totally perfect but dam near! Yeah for sure! I’m going to head back to the marina this autumn and do a 1 year catch up to see how he is getting on and find all the pros vs cons of narrow boat life after a full year Finding the right mooring is such an important decision too x
Yeah, something where you don't need to have a licence, though my mate's dad was a fisherman so I've driven boats before. I'd love to retire in one of these boats

Yes I can imagine it does! But in my opinion the freedom and flexibility would make it totally worth it! Maybe when I’m more settled in this country after my travels I may try it for a few years x thanks so much for watching
I live on my 34 ft aquastar (13 ft wide) in a French coastal marina. €1,300 per year with unlimited electricity. It strikes me that uk waterways are a distinctly expensive option for living aboard.

I’m seriously considering buying a narrow boat since I have a job that doesn’t inspire me and now the prospect of being tied to a mortgage in the current economic climate seems bleak. Would love to live close to nature and teach music online.

If I was a millionaire I'd have a modern state of the art custom canal boat made sure it would cost a packet but with modern materials insulation heating energy tech you'd save in long run

I really like being on narrow boats either in winter or summer.. I love the countryside and I will save a fortune compared to renting in West London.
