Paul and Anthony you should definitely think about wrinting and illustrating a childreans book.about narrowboats and all the friends (furry, feathered, mutilegged insects, etc ) you have met along the way. Or at the very least put together some coloring pages.

Fabulous! The wonderful thing about being on a narrowboat is seeing places from a different perspective; that’s one of many things I loved about our holidays on one. The best one for me was coming into Stratford-upon-Avon basin from the canal and the way the vista opened up. That was a cliff hanger ending - hope all is well now. 🤞💜

Thanks for the trip into Liverpool docks i was born here in 1941 i left in 1950 i remember going to New Brighton on the Ferry with my mother to the amusement park then my dad came back from WW2 in 1945 and we moved to Leicester then went back to Grand parents a few times. Moved to USA 1972 been back and Narrow boated with my cousin out of Barrow on Soar a couple of times but never went to Liverpool so it was great to see the Liver building but the rest has changed a little bit i think i would get lost now. I follow you guys plus many Narrow boat vlogs Stay safe and well. Ed 40 S of Vegas

Wow amazing to see this trip again we did this on our boat many years ago now and loved it also so much to see and do in Liverpool ❤,hope the eye is improving.😊

It was incredible Philip. One of the best things we have done. Glad you have experienced it too. Not free anymore but well worth the mooring fee. It has loads to offer and everyone was so friendly. Lads, that has to be one of the best videos you've ever uploaded. I loved your enthusiasm describing the approach as you slowly got closer and closer to Salthouse dock. I'm ashamed to admit I have never been to Liverpool. I'm a Geordie, and traditionary we he have always got on with Scousers. You've invoked memories of the Beatles, the Liver Birds and even the youngest brother of the Osmonds (Jimmy - I'll be your long hair lover from Liverpool) I am definitely going to have a long weekend break there. We absolutely loved arriving by boat into Liverpool. One of the best things we have done. We looked at the price of the apartments, they start at £350k! It is a beautiful building though. Hope you have a great weekend ❤️

Hello Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog. I’m in my element this week as you are on my home turf. All the places you passed thru I knew. I liked the way you showed us the route you were heading on up to Liverpool. Your Easter Sunday brekky looked amazing. Shops close on Easter Sunday. You passed thru a lot of locks as you got closer to the city center, Its only to be expected as you had to get down to sea level (River Mersey). That was nice of the CRT acting as your pilot. To be fair there is a lot going on before you get to your final berth. Good to see Dexter The approach to the Pier Head and the Liver Building is amazing. As you left fresh water and sailed into salt water, was there any noticeable difference in the handling of your boat. Less than a minute walk away from the Liver and Cunard buildings is the former White Star Line Headquarters. When the Titanic was lost, everything was done from this building to deal with the situation. Liverpool is an amazing place. There is nowhere like it. Love the new tunnels you went thru. Glad you found your mooring OK. Are they numbered, so you know which one was yours? Really sorry you had an eye injury Paul. I’m hoping you are fully recovered now. You were moored in deep water being a former dock. Were you aware of this, and did the boat feel different? It was interesting seeing the choppy water whilst at your berth. A brilliant Vlog again this week. I enjoyed being with you virtually. All the best. Spoolbox.

Glad you enjoyed. We had a blast into Liverpool. The journey in was one of the best things we have done one our boat. We completely forgot shops closed Easter Sunday. Loads of swing bridges on the route to Liverpool and then all those locks. The volunteers were amazing. Great to have someone showing us the way. Going under the museum was brilliant and then to emerge to see the fabulous Liver building. We know Liverpool is steeped in maritime history. A lot of my old work colleagues were unaware of the third Liver bird though. No difference in handling of the boat, but we do know that the anodes would fizz in salt water after time. There are special anodes for salt water. The boat only felt different during the storms. Probably due to the depth. Paul still can’t see, but we hope this is normal for the stage of healing. Glad you enjoyed. Have a wonderful weekend ❤️

It was incredible Colin. One of the best things we have done on our boat. I used to live in Wallasey and drank at the Pier Head in Birkenhead many moons ago. No, didn’t see the Paul O’Grady tribute but the sweet shop in Albert Dock had a picture of him made of Jelly Beans. It really is an incredible city. Paul is back on Monday but currently still can’t see out of his eye. Have a lovely weekend ❤️

My husband also Paul has been recovering from major surgery for two months poor guy ended up with sepsis has to go to hospital every day for antibiotics infusion but on the home stretch finally so definitely sympathize with hospital stays. Yes, as someone else said, the new intro is lovely. I enjoyed seeing you cruise into Liverpool, having watched Landscape Artist this year one of the spots was Albert Dock and the Three Graces so it was nice to see them from a different perspective. Oh my, Paul I hope your eye is okay, as an artist your eyes are so important. 🤞. I’ll be looking forward to next video. Not much new here this week, I don’t know if I’ve told you a very beautiful Pheasant comes by pretty much everyday to see if there is anything good at the feeding station. You’d love him Paul, he’s so vibrant and sometimes his dowdy mate comes round but she is very skittish and I can’t get a photo of her. Also a pair of Wood Doves come in early evening to see if anything is left after the Blue Jays goggle up the corn , bigger seeds and suet block. They are so pretty and they’ve been here for at least 5 years, they nest in a huge old fir tree at the end of the drive by the woods. Take care and hope you had a good visit in Liverpool . 🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

Yet another sublime video and as usual, so professionally edited. This must have been a first for many of your viewers, as they were able to come along for a stunning trip into the heart of Liverpool. It was interesting to hear you mention the fact that the Liver Building was one of the very first to be constructed using the new technique of reinforced concrete. My wife's grandfather (Walter Howard) was the founder of the Helical Bar and Engineering Company, which he began in the early 1900's to make and sell the specialist reinforcing steel for the construction industry. This was a very new technique at the time and it was his company that was one of the main contractors involved in the construction of this stunningly unique and globally recognisable building. Thank you for posting such interesting, educational and historical content. Your videos just get better and better, I never want them to end!

I used to live in Haskayne (near the Ship Inn) and work at the Port of Liverpool building (back in the late 1970's) It's certainly changed. Have a great stay. (See if you can find Ye Hole in Ye Wall pub while your there)

Hi Guys, love Liverpool, visited there 3 times between 2007 and 2011. Did a transit to IOM on the ferry one trip. Love the docks area and all the museums and history. We went to the cavern one time. I think my drink got spiked cause an hour after leaving there I was hallucinating and being sick in the hotel. Pity that spoilt that particular trip. But I’d still go back if I went over again.
