America’s Best Christian Mrs. Betty should do a video on how, just like that Conservatives went from Pro life to Pro choice over wearing a mask.. Hark!
I've never understood how they say that their god hates abortion, but was perfectly okay with murdering the firstborn children of Egypt because their political leader pissed him off. I bet if their god demanded America's firstborns' lives to punish Trump, they'd change their tunes mighty quick.
@@Domino365 I always ask Christians this question. What would you call me if I drowned 1 baby, would you say I was good? Then I say, yet your God drowned every baby on the planet and yet you call him GOOD. Do you see the problem here? I get 2 answers 1. Silence/no response 2. A poor attempt to justify their good God drowning every baby, usually goes along the lines of "he created them, he can destroy them. Or He knew they'd grow up wicked so he destroyed them. Which is kind of stupid for an omniscient, omnipotent God.
@Bernie Family What you are essentially saying here is that the worst white racists are no worse than the best white anti-racists. That doesn't give much of an incentive for white people to try to be better, does it? Let alone to check our privilege.
This was one of Betty's Worst. She usually shows much more wit. This was the dumbed-down atheist argument "Using the Bible as Proof that God is Wicked" without first proving that God exists. God is the God of the Living -- not the dead. Religion has evolved along with civilization. Men Cannot "hear". Over 93% of men and women are nearly deaf and blind spiritually. Don't take my word for that -- do your own survey. Or better yet, exercise your faith and ask thy God thyself.
@The 99% You realize this is character acting, right? The persona was invented/created to present comedic political and religious satire from a mostly liberal viewpoint. (Actually, I don't know if that's the main reason she was created, but it's certainly one of the reasons.)
@@humboldthammer I tend to not ask any gods anything, but I realize there is a vast array of religions and varying degrees of faith within and among them. I don't question or doubt your faith or anyone else's. That is a private, personal, matter and whatever works for you - great. Freedom of/from religion. That said, I think you missed the point of this segment. Not once did Betty say or infer that "God is wicked;" rather, she calls out the wickedness and hypocrisy of men (and women), as is the case in almost all of her clips. In fact, in one of the few times she referred to God specifically she used air quotes, subtly hinting at her underlying atheism: "...it sorta undercuts our marketing the Bible as, not a compendium of human thoughts from 2000+ years ago, but a book of "timeless moral truths" from an all-knowing God."
Religion is just the excuse. We will always find perceived flaws in others to discriminate. If it's not religion, it's race. If it's not race, then wealth. If it's not wealth, then it's your DPS. Discrimination is a defining characteristic of humans, but it also drives our progress. We just need to switch to something else before things get out of hand...
being religious and being spiritual are two different things i too became an atheist because of religious hypocrisy, but since i was a kid i had close to spiritual concepts like reincarnation, karma so i no longer consider myself an atheist
@@FruityHachi You know what karma is? You know that according to karma the child that is abused is paying karma for sins committed in a previous life? You may have been an atheist but you are immoral and lack critical thinking.
@@corydorastube you get karma for how you're living your current life too "You may have been an atheist but you are immoral and lack critical thinking." and this is why i'm not religious, because of hypocrisy and shaming from religious people shame is the lowest vibrational frequency and love is god's frequency, those religious people who shame others are disconnected from god yet call atheists immoral
I used to be a Christian. One of the things that made me an atheist was my deep study of the Bible. It is for the most part, godawful. As an atheist, I've probably read the Bible more than many Christians.
A Christian is someone who KNOWS God. If you didn't know God then you were never a Christian. And if you did know God then you could not be an atheist today. Pretty simple really. I believe that you were someone who truly thought you were a Christian but you were really the false convert that Jesus warned about all through His parables. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pYZw0dfLmLk.html
I actually had the opposite experience, I'm a philosophy major who was born in a non-religious family and was an ardent atheist until I read the Bible. Strange how things happen in opposite order for some of us.

I never understood how different things written by people over 2000 years ago and cherry picked by the Catholic chuch, than constructed into a Bible, ended up being the words of God.
No one knows who wrote the Bible. In fact, no one thought the life of Jesus was worthy of writing about until 30-110 years after he died. During those years the stories were passed on using oral history. That’s the telephone game. One person tells a story and the next person changes the story to the point where after 3 tellings the story could be completely different. But we’re not talking about just 3 retellings of the story. We’re talking about up to 50 years of the telling and retelling of the stories. And to make matters worse all of those men who retold the stories were anonymous illiterates. If they had the ability to write they would have. But the people in that era were very illiterate. When the NT was finally written it was entirely written by anonymous men. The gospel of Luke was written between 80-110AD. The gospel of mark was written between 65-75AD. The gospel of Matthew was written between 80-90AD. And the gospel of John was written between 80-100AD. All four books of the gospels were written by ANONYMOUS men. Then later they were rewritten by more anonymous men. Then even later it was edited and rewritten by more anonymous men. One political party in the US claim to be Christians but they tried to throw out entire elections if one vote lost its CHAIN OF CUSTODY. But they eagerly believe without question the entire Bible when there was NO CHAIN OF CUSTODY. No one ever claimed that the Republican Party was consistent on anything, but to believe in a book that was entirely written by anonymous primitive men defies all logic, reason, facts and honesty. What kind of ‘god’ would put his precious word in the hands of anonymous illiterate men and then later anonymous men who began writing unverified stories passed down by those illiterate storytellers? How can anyone believe an ‘all knowing’ god would do that? And because of all the contradictions, omissions, and outright fabrications don’t you think a real god would reappear to set the record straight instead of leaving everyone believing countless interpretations of the same lines in the Bible? There are over 40,000 Christian denominations because they can’t agree on the contents of the Bible. There are 7 billion people on this planet. If each read the same line in the Bible they would come up with at least 7 billion different interpretations of that line. What ‘god’ would allow his word to be so misinterpreted? If simplicity is genius the writers of the Bible were the exact opposite of genius. If anyone tries to rebut a singe word I’ve written I’d appreciate reasoned responses with proof to rebut my statements but please don’t respond with quotes from the Bible to try to prove the Bible. First you have to prove the Bible is real. But you can’t do that because you can’t even tell me who the authors were, there is no documentation and no one knows when the Bible was written. And that CHAIN OF CUSTODY part really shoots the Bible’s oars out of the water. Would anyone rely on 50-120 years of hearsay to build an aircraft? No. If your bosses learned you were doing that you’d be instantly fired because they know to build something based on total unknowns or hearsays would lead to countless airplanes crashing every day. I don’t know anyone who could do their job using hearsay. If you can’t do your job using hearsay why would people wrap their lives in the Bible and worship a god in a book that is 100% hearsay? No one has been able to prove anything in the New Testament because no one even knows who wrote it. Supposedly Moses wrote genesis in the Old Testament but there is zero proof of that. Genesis is an extremely poorly written book that was obviously the work of unimaginative men who had a tendency to repeat identical stories at nauseam especially when they bring up sketchy family history. Btw, why would a god choose Moses to be a central character when he was the son of incest? His father married his own sister. The god of the Bible used incest a lot in the Bible. The most heinous incestuous liaison was when the Lot girls got their daddy passed out drunk on successive nights and then copulated with him to produce two sons. But why couldn’t an all-knowing god foresee that if he killed Mrs Lot then Mr Lot couldn’t carry on his bloodline? You’d think that instead of a god resorting to incest he would simply have given Mr Lot a son instead of his daughters prior to his murdering of Mrs Lot. But wait. The fact that god thought that he needed a male to carry on a bloodline was false. DNA shows that both male and females pass on bloodlines equally. But the writers of this story were primitive, barbaric men who had no knowledge of DNA, but god did. After all, if god created man he would certainly know about DNA and know that current customs of that era were wrong. Why would a real god adhere to a primitive man’s customs and not use this as an opportunity to reveal DNA to the world? It did not take a male to carry on a bloodline. God knew this but instead of letting his daughters pass on his bloodline god decided he wanted to watch Lot’s girls screw their daddy. By the way, Mr Lot’s daughters used wine to get their victim drunk so they could copulate with him on successive nights. It is the first recorded instance of ‘date rape’. It’s mysterious how Mr Lot was so easily duped into getting drunk so his daughters could copulate with their daddy two nights in a row. How in the world did a man get so drunk he passed out but was still able to get an erection? That was one divinely inspired boner. Logic and biology would dictate that Mr Lot wasn’t as drunk as recorded in this biblical story. I believe he was conscious when his girls were screwing him but that doesn’t fit the biblical narrative. And New Testament characters, including Jesus, called Mr Lot a ‘righteous man’. But how could Mr Lot and his daughters be allowed to live? In Leviticus 20:12 it says “And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surly be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.” So shouldn’t all the surviving Lot clan be put to death? Or is it okay for a man to screw his own daughters but not screw his son’s wife? And turning around to look at your home burning is a death sentence but screwing your father isn’t? Do any Christians even read the damned Bible??? And what about “For everyone that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.” So according to Leviticus it’s okay to rape your father but if you tell him a swear word you’re executed. Come on Christians. Stop this lunacy! Only delusional people could believe this insanity. I’ve always wondered if Bill Cosby was inspired to drug women with quaaludes after reading about how the Lot daughters used booze to have sex with their victim. Leave it to the Bible to be an instruction manual for date rapists.
The Ten Commandments are amazing - three commandments dedicated just to telling people how to worship God correctly, but he missed a commandment like "Thou shalt not own and exploit fellow human beings like cattle." Must've slipped His mind...

My favorite part of the Bible is when it explains the difference between the right and wrong way to beat your slaves to death. If you beat your slaves to death the wrong way, you have to pay a fine.
No one can put it better than Betty Bower's. I was only recently exposed to Biblical Literalists’ equivocating over slavery in the Bible. I honestly could not believe it when I heard people saying things like- “It was nothing like American slavery! It was voluntary... it was temporary... it was like an apprenticeship... it was a way for indebted people to get back on their feet again!” No one should ever ever have to listen to these people talk about “morality!”
These two people uplift my spirit every time I come across them on internet. Mrs. Bowers, and Mr. Deity, may you live long, healthy and happy lives. Love you both.
Why are these MAGA nuts only protesting the demand that they wear a mask in public. Why aren't they also protesting the rule that they must wear pants, bras, and g-strings in public?
For some reason, ever since I started watching Betty Bowers and Holy Koolaid, RU-vid suggests all kinds of stupid real religious videos that I have since had to block. Apparently, RU-vid has trouble telling the difference between satire and serious.🤨

@Nell Raven The following information has been removed from some bible versions - especially those of Protestant origin (e.g., The [Authorized] King James Version(aka: "KJV") ): "1 Listen then, kings, and understand; rulers of remotest lands, take warning; 2 hear this, you who govern great populations, taking pride in your hosts of subject nations! 3 For sovereignty is given to you by the Lord and power by the Most High, who will himself probe your acts and scrutinise your intentions. 4 If therefore, as servants of his kingdom, you have not ruled justly nor observed the law, nor followed the will of God, 5 he will fall on you swiftly and terribly. On the highly placed a ruthless judgement falls; 6 the lowly are pardoned, out of pity, but the mighty will be mightily tormented. 7 For the Lord of all does not cower before anyone, he does not stand in awe of greatness, since he himself has made small and great and provides for all alike; 8 but a searching trial awaits those who wield power. 9 So, monarchs, my words are meant for you, so that you may learn wisdom and not fall into error;" (Wisdom of Solomon, 6:1-9)
A nun at a religious outing from my Catholic school once asked me (because I wasn't participating "properly" with the chanting and the signing) what I think the Bible is. I told her "it's a book" and she reacted as if a ghost slapped her or something. She tried to "correct" me by saying it's "the word of God" and I replied saying "Yeah, but it's still a book right? Written by people a millenia or so ago?" And that was the end of that convo. 😂
Glory! Mrs. Betty Bowers (tastefully!) knocks it out of the park again! We're not worthy of your brilliance and sly wit, but this one voice in the audience is VERY thankful for both.
