@@juangutierrez5400 I mean that would mean Secret Rings wouldn’t exist and thats good since it’s fundamentally bad with the controls . But then we wouldn’t get Sonic and the Black Knight which was actually pretty good. But if 06 had more time in development it would probably be better than Black Knight since it would have basically been Sonic Adventure with better graphics.
You know, for Sonic 3d Blast being hated or loved, I liked how they managed to put a semi isometric platformer on a genesis and for Saturn to keep sonic fans waiting for Xtreme. Isometrical Platformers are the best kind of 2-3d games you can find and in my opinion, Sonic 3d blast was one of the greatest sonic games on the genesis (but the red bird tho)
Does anyone else think it's strange how Sega named their consoles after planets? Game Gear was code-named Project Mercury, 32X was code-named Project Mars, Saturn was... Saturn. Even cancelled Sega consoles were code-named after planets, in the forms of Project Jupiter, Project Neptune, & Project Pluto. Always something that I've found confusing, though also intriguing...
@Henry Ludwig I'm sure when it was being developed that it seemed impressive, but by the time it released, not too many people really cared a whole lot about it. What's tragically hilarious is that one of Atari's higher-ups claimed in an interview (I believe to be around 1995-1996) that Atari was working on a Jaguar 2 as they spoke.
I have to say, "They call me Sonic" was one of my favorite songs when i was like 8. I completly forgot about it and it was really nice to hear something so nostalgic.
I would actually like to see a sonic game based off of the sonic SatAm show or the sonic comics Imagine being captured by snibley as tails only for robotnic to show up waiting sonic to show up but his friends come instead. We already have the technology, fan support, and the knowledge to do it.
@@yoda908 There was an indoor one (sorta) in Sydney Australia at one point. It was technically just a Sega World Arcade but for older people who had the luxury of either living in Australia or visiting it prior to it’s closure around the 2000 Olympics it was amazing. I had a friend who was able to go prior to its closure. Actually I think there was a similar game to Sonic Ride at Sega World Sydney prior to it’s closure but I’m not positive.
Fun fact: There is a project called Sonic Z-Treme that is similar to X-Treme. It's even one of the games made for the Saturn, as it uses both CPUs on the console as opposed to one.
Fun fact...nvm just a fact: Sega said there probably gonna stop making sonic games permanently because of how Nintendo is winning everything leaving them in the dust
I believe Mars was the development name for the 32X. Later the Neptune (Sega Cd?) , then Saturn got called the Saturn publicly. I vaguely remember seeing the neptune name used a few times in media, not clear on the context, and possibly a pluto for the dreamcast.
I have a friend who's a big sonic fan, can't wait to get his reaction on this! (Will update) Update one: I sent it to him Update two: this is his response *I’ve seen it already I literally watch Conner the waffle I’m not a degenerate* That's what he said not even joking
The reason sonic X-treme never came out was because they switched around like 3 different game engines and the only good one couldn't run on the Saturn. Sega even considered making X-treme a PC game at one point.
@@shadowspider9 I know that... But dammit, we can always dream. So much went to waste on fucking paper, the reason I will never read the comics. It'll just be depressing.
How many redesigns before you reach your true form? Like Jeez dude Last year he was short and had legs, then he was tall with no legs, then he was the first one, and now he's the second one but slightly tweaked.
I didn't know about the Sonic Ride or They Call Me Sonic. So I just had to check out the song and it's as cheesy as I thought it would be in an oh so 90's way lol
If I could make my own sonic game and make it official, something like Nier Automata with a grander/richer/darker story, feel and tone aiming for a T Rating but not a full on M Rating.
You are wrong. Sonic X Treme did not get cancelled due to lack of interest in Saturn. The real reason why it was cancelled was that 2 members of the development team almost died from exhaustion due to stress of the development process.
