Our Sun Princess cruise cancelled with five days to go!
Sun Princess is the brand new Cruise ship for Princess cruises in 2024, it was due to have its Cruise ship Maiden on February 8th 2024. Sun Princess was not ready so this was cancelled. That meant that we were due to go Sun Princess Maiden the original second sailing but five days to go this was cancelled!!
In this video we take a look at the lead up to the cancellation of the first two sun princess cruises, the reason for the cruise cancellation and the chances of Sun Princess cruise on 28th February going ahead?
We also asks the question should Princess learn lessons from Royal Caribbean and the successful launch of biggest cruise ship in the world Icon of the seas!

It is unforgivable that the shipbuilder would put Princess and us in that position. You all are blaming the wrong company. No ship moves until delivery is taken. It was never going to move until Feb 14.

Sorry to hear your bad news, very disappointing but at least you're getting a decent chunk of future cruise credit. We're not on Sun Princess until later in the year thankfully.

I know a few people who were supposed to be on the maiden voyage! Sorry to hear this news, it's all a bit of a pain regardless of future cruise credit or compensation.

This is a big problem when people are expecting to go on inaugural cruises or after dry deok it shows how little they know about the cruise industry. So many warning ovwr the years but these amateurs still go for it.

So many vloggers, who’ve paid the grand sum of zero dollars, seem to be kicking up a hell of a fuss. These inaugural cruises all seem to have a touch of Whicker Island about them when you see the onboard footage, I couldn’t think of a worse place to be.

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. I was fully aware the risks and to be honest if it was just Family cruise like you said I would have booked for later. Although annoying with the compensation I can enjoy a cruise at a later date.

@@johng1943 hi thanks for watching. As you can imagine as small channel I was paying for my cruise and always do. A few others I know do as well, as far as big channels go I am not sure but if it’s free it should be stated. Agreed though if heading just to enjoy the cruise always best to wait.

Have Princess confirmed that specific value for the FCC, I thought that the FCC was 50% of the cruise fare (ie. before Port Fees, etc)?

Hi, I am hearing various things and Princess hasn’t actually confirmed. My travel agent has confirmed though that I got exactly half FCC of total I paid including the princess premier, but not tax.

So many people Blaming princess and not the shipbuilder. Can you not conceive the probability that this was only discovered the day before delivery on February 13? This is the only likely scenario. Obviously the ship builder is the one to blame for the delay and there is no rational reason to think Princess didn't let you know as soon as they did. This sucks for Princess more than you.

Hi Rob thanks for watching and commenting. You make some valid points. All I will say is yes it will suck for Princess but that’s nature of fixing dates for ship to be ready and it’s not, whatever the reason. We already knew a few venues wouldn’t be ready, it was just lack of communication that was poor and as it was a new type cruise ship why did they not give themselves a buffer few months like Royal did with Icon. First few months is always risky and that’s how it turned out. For me it’s fine I now have some fcc a refund and all had to do is pop case away, for others coming from USA that already arrived it’s going to suck a little more.
