A little about us, we’re Rachael a (36) palliative care nurse, Tom (43) a train guard, yes you knew you knew that voice from a tannoy somewhere! Alice (11) and Ernest (9)
We love going on holiday and especially cruising so thought we would start documenting and sharing all our top tips with you for travelling at sea as a family.
We will show you ship tours, room tours, amusing vlogs and just general family life on a cruise (even the moody days), so if this sounds good come and subscribe.
Oo, we are fancying Brittania next, so this is great - although unless Wills is seriously annoying it won't be a single. It looks a really good size both inside and balcony. It looks great. Wow those aft balcony cabins are amazing, would be perfect for Norway!! Cheers for a great review 🍻
@@PostcardAndAPint hey both! Yes I think you would like Britannia and if you can get one of those Aft balconies amazing! Thanks for watching and looking forward to the Costa videos!! 🍻 cheers
Do not expect to step on board and feel a sense of luxury , pampering, warmth and the cares of the world melting away. This ship is commercial with the heart being the pub. The head waiters etc need to be sent for training on the Elizabeth Mary or Victoria. I felt so sorry for the fine staff who had been transferred from the Mary. I would not recommend the ship.
Would love to see more Carnival ships in the UK, but I'm not sold that their product would translate too well over here. I absolutely adore their big deck parties in the Caribbean, but that would be a bit different in the European cold...!!
@@FraserAtSea hey buddy. You make some good points, still love to see them try it even for just one summer, us brits can dance in our jumpers! As always thanks for watching
@@JayneGadsby not at all, it just depends if certain companies are doing blue light discount at the time, princess currently are doing 10% off. When booking if through an agent you can tell Them you have blue light and they can let you know if there are any discounts 🙂 thanks for watching
@@wendydee3007 hi thanks for watching Wendy. I am unsure on this hope others can help. My experience of talking with others that require gluten free, ships are excellent now including Cunard I am sure this can be accommodated speak to them when you get on and let us know.
So I can take aboard unlimited fever tree tonics and buy a bottle of Bombay Gin, when required, from the room service menu for £26, which is cheaper than UK supermarkets (when not on offer)! Sounds good to me ...
@@sailawaymag hey, as always thanks for watching. If you do one we would love to join you. Maybe a more modern one, in a suite so you can escape the madness 😁
I’d definitely be up for a sailing on Carnival again, they’re a little in your face and can get rowdy at times but that’s all part of the experience. Those prices are a little on the high side. However, I’d rather not get on one of these older ships and for long durations so hopefully the Celebration does come here in 2027 🤞🏻
@@ALifeintheParks hey, as always thanks for watching and commenting. Yes agreed I think these type of ships are your one week max type ships! Would love a newer carnival ship from Southampton in the next five years!

I am going on Sky Princess in August and am considering having a princess premier for me and my wife. question is what does my son who is 19 and my daughter is 10 do .can my son have Princess Plus and my daughter have a soda package and if so does this include gratuities
@@warrioreatscheese8389 hi thanks for watching, only the first two guests are required to have the plus if one guests has decided to purchase this. The 3rd and 4th guests are not required to get it, if want to add just a drinks package then you need to contact Princess. This how I understand it. Plus and premier includes gratuities, not sure on purchasing drinks package alone I imagine not.
@@cruisingwiththe4bs my next cruise is on the Legend and I was just wondering about it. I love that area of the ship. Thank you for your video and all your info about the ship.
This is a silly “best list”. Cruising is very subjective based on personal preference. For example, my idea of a Disney cruise is hell on Earth. Larger newer mega cruise ships with coasters & go carts with 5,000 passenger capacity…..no thanks. My ideal cruise is Silversea, Seaborn, Atlas, Azamara, with 500 passenger capacity, port intensity, and all inclusive.
Hey Douglas. If one person in cabin has it, the first two guests need to get it. After that if you have 3/4 in the cabin it’s optional. Obviously the kids will have zero package for drinks if you purchase it.
Love the water slides. Wish all ships had them to be honest. Also the tequila bar would 100% be a feature for us, the margarita menu looked delicious 😁😎
@@GetLostWithBenAndGareth hey both! Tequila and waterslides now that’s a combination. It was enjoyable day hopefully can get on proper carnival cruise at some point!
This was a really interesting watch, not sure we've ever seen an interior design quite like it!! The outer decks look really appealing, but the interior looks ghastly. Apparently there are more than 1 million different colours, we reckon they've used every one on this ship. Even though the interior isn't to our taste, we would give it a try :)
@@sailawaymag 🤣🤣. I know what you mean some real interesting contrast of colours…very dark in places and bright in others. I actually had a good feel about the ship while onboard, would love to go on the newer carnival ships to compare. As always thanks for watching supporting the channel!
Great video & packed full of information and the principles can be applied to most cruise lines although P&Os bar prices are the cheapest we have seen and was a nice surprise when we sailed at Christmas. We definitely saved money paying as we went but only one of us really drinks (John 👀). We have been so used to always having a drinks package as part of the booking incentive or in Yacht Club that Arvia was the first time we had to really think about it. We decided to pay as we went and didn’t regret it. We did alter our behaviour a bit, only picked the drinks we knew we liked rather than experimenting and trying out every cocktail (usually wasting a lot). We also got a bottle of wine with dinner, and would fill our glasses and take to the next venue. I would then have a coffee and John pints but we had enough to drink and had as much as we wanted. I feel if we had the drinks package we may be more annoyed with how slow it was to get a drink sometimes, especially in the Club House but on pay as you go you save money and sometimes skip that last drink you didn’t really need 😂
@@cruisefraterpoultons hey both thanks for watching and your excellent detailed reply. I totally agree on the waste we do that a lot in my view when on the package. Having the drinks package in yacht club is such a plus! I think at some point in future will get the package just to compare, still think pay as you go will be the way forward!
Thanks for the heads up, we were just about to book a cruise on Arvia but didn't want the extra cost of 'select price' and would of been happy for a P&O allocated standard balcony, but suspect that deck 8 is allocated to those not wishing to pay the extra £hundreds. So we are holding off for now/may chose a different ship/cruise line.
@@G718T hey thanks for watching. Yes unfortunately deck 8 is the risk of booking a saver. We have plenty of different cruise lines on our channel if looking for ideas.
