Excellent Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you researched - Chireetler Earning Maker Rule (google it)? It is a smashing one off guide for learning how to make candles for fund or profit without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin got excellent results with it.

I find that making soda and dawn breaks down grease quick...amd i use rubbing alcohol for cold process soaps than hot process... newspaper certainly prevents mess. And staying in a small area. No mess no fuss .. I'm sold.

@Small Town Global i too im getting started in the candle making bussines. I suggest buy one piece at a time using coupons from Michael or Joanne's, it will take some times but you will save a lot of money. I go every day back to Michael's ehen they have yhe 50% or 60% discount. Also look for second hand equipment or visit the thrift store. Im doing this to find out if i will like it and to see if candle making will work for me. Good luck

I like to use the oven and eco friendly paper towels to wipe it out. I like to dip in alcohol and let it air dry.

I just reheat any hardened wax in the pitcher over my double burner and pour it into whatever I want to put it in. Then I wipe them out with a paper towel. Less fuss that way and I don’t need any racks or metal pans. 😊

hello Tim! I would like to ask, how about cleaning up the silicone molds used for making embeds? I tried using alcohol to clean it up good, but the scent still lingers on it.
@TimberRidgeGifts
@TimberRidgeGifts 6 лет назад
Those can be a little trickier because the silicone is semi-porous. Something I just recently found that I'm having good results with is the Wax Remover from American Soy Organics

Please help. I make ocean scene gel candles in wine glasses. I sell local but I'd like to branch out and sell online. How would I mail them? I'm worried about the summer heat and the wine glass breaking. Do you have any ideas or tips?
@TimberRidgeGifts
@TimberRidgeGifts 6 лет назад
+Jen's Life shipping isn’t as scary as it sounds. Check out my shipping tutorial for some great (and free!) shipping ideas. Gel has a higher melting point, so I wouldn’t worry much about the heat. I pack my candles with cornstarch packing peanuts, which provide great cushion and have the added benefit of acting as insulation. You’ll be shipping to Arizona in August with no worries!
@Meredith471
@Meredith471 6 лет назад
Jen's Life as long as you are using at least medium density gel wax, you will have no problems with the wax melting in the summer heat during shipment. Follow Tim's other shipping suggestions and all will be fine.

I have not used gel wax, but had read due to it not being solid there could be issues with shipping due to movement or it not being stored vertically. I also read some amazon reviews of gel candles reporting receiving a large mess. Has anyone sent these with success, and do you have any tips?

Hi Tim, I stumbled across your video and I love them. I am planning on opening my own Etsy account in a couple months. Do you know how to take a regular picture and print that picture on a label for your candle so essentially you're personalizing the candle. I don't mean the rub off or soak your picture a piece of packing tape and then you'll have your label or personalized stickers or whatever. I mean actually printing a picture of a little boy getting a birthday gift and his mom shot a picture of that and then send it to me and I print it out on my printer do I have to scan it or I don't know. I had a stroke in June 2014. I Used to Know how to take a picture and printed on the label and stick it on the candle but my memory was affected during stroke so I can't remember for the life of me how but if you can figure out anything it would be greatly appreciated. I should have took notes the candle label thing but I didn't at the time. The stroke affected the right side of my body and so essentially I'm left-handed now do you think I should put that as my back story because it was a very important time in my life? So I can only poor with my left hand but fortunately I have most of them my equipment left. I have the Presto crackpot, about seven or 8 sense left and some molds and stuff like that. But what I'm really wanting to know if you know or if one of your viewers now how to print a picture on a label. I built a website on Facebook and it's "Michigan scented soy candles". Please go check it out and you'll see what I'm talking about I made a label or picture of my sister and brother-in-law the day they got married and I have the picture I printed and the jar of Wax soy wax sitting next to it with her picture on it but for the life of me I can't remember the email or the password😢. I want to personally thank you for being a police officer👮. And taking your time 2 make the videos for your audience and answer the questions that your viewers have. Please keep up the good work :-). Please forgive me 4 babbling but I don't know how to describe the labeling process and my words are still a little short because of the stroke :-(. But I think God everyday I'm alive because my two girls would have been motherless my youngest one was just 14 and my oldest one was 19 in college in Texas. And they wouldn't know what to do without me.

+Millie Campbell so I’m definitely not a computer expert lol, but if I were trying to walk someone through it.. first step would be to save the picture to your computer, I have a folder on my desktop just for dumping random pictures in to. Next, adding the picture to the label is really going to depend on which label program you use. I use Avery, which has an option for adding an image. If yours doesn’t have that, you might be able to right click and add an image that way.
@milliecampbell3035
@milliecampbell3035 6 лет назад
Timber Ridge Gifts Thank you so much for your reply. I think I remember because I use Avery also. And I remember the option of adding an image:-). It's all kind of coming back to me now thank you so much for your reply. Because once you said Avery and them offering the option 2 create your own image you just kick-started my brain LOL thank you

Can you tell me what kind of heat gun you are using? Is this something you can purchase at a crafts store, or big box hardware store? Tim, your videos are so informative and down to earth! I really appreciate them! Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Jean Younger-Brown the one I have is pretty basic, got it from Ace Hardware. It’s just the cheapo store brand that they sell. Not sure about craft stores but you can also find them at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, or Target.
