In China I saw some huge bamboo. Close to 100feet tall and a foot across. All I could think of was how big of a fish I could catch with that pole. They used it for everything!

I have recently moved here to the Philippines and I plan to do some fishing with a cane pole , your videos are very helpful thanks for posting and take care God Bless 👍

High! I like the way you cured your bamboo! I've been making walking sticks for about 4yrs. with bamboo! I have been using a propane torch and creating a beautiful look. I then put a coat of marine spar urithane!... Quick note.. I drill a pin hole just below each node I think they are called to prevent steam preasure!

I watched one guy do this and he stained his cane red , it came out nice but I like that firing method also.

Where do you get the metal parts for making it a take down style? Tip ends you tie thread on? We used to run bank lines using cane. Used to catch a lot of catfish.
