@@ballkicker931 I dunno, it just kinda feels timeless to me. I guess the idea of liberation from a corrupt system is kind of a timeless theme. Though I think the 90's may be one of those times that really took the idea to 11.

The entire song and video sound like its about dreaming. Orexin A is the nuerochemical for waking up and all, the two planets represent the two lobes of the brain, and the creative right brain ends up throwing a creative thought to the left brain. Exactly like a dream.
I'm late here, but combined with how the the left brain's world was, it could also be an analogy for how school and work (used to) stifle creativity and independent thought (Represented by how every kid is literally molded into the same rectangular headed person), in exchange for following a schedule and listening to superiors. Designed to work in Cubicles, Factories, and whatnot (Which just so happen to be the jobs shown). That's why visiting the right planet is forbidden. Acting out and not conforming to the system in place, being independent was highly frowned apon. That's not true nowdays though, at least outside of certain countries. So I guess in our world too, the right brain won out.
Somehow Andy is able to be so delightfully weird and abstract while still keeping a readable and really powerful story. Absolutely love it man, keep it up :)
@@icedrago6500 Mia (the protagonist) escaped the industrialized planet because she was sick of it (as seen in the flashback at 0:14) and was living on the new foreign planet. Her home planet is seen to be extremely boring and lifeless with everyone having advertisments of products they don't care about shoved in their face, and being forced to work long hours of boring jobs everyday. The antagonist found out where she was located and sent drones out to capture her and return her to their planet. The people got news of her being hunted and started to protest against it. Then she got all of her alien friends to get in her shuttle and get launched at the satellite that was producing the drones to capture her. All of the bright new life being introduced to their planet is assumed to show the people a new life for the better, with them realizing they were previously being wronged by the antagonist/their employers. There's probably deeper metaphorical meaning and symbolism behind certain things but this is what is literally shown.

and the line after it is 300% " I can't believe how hot he could be". It just fits with the overall theme of dreaming and longing for compaction from another person. It just works.
The whole satellite eclipse is such a cool idea tho, most people probably didn't even notice that that's what's happening but it's on a screen on 0:54 and you can see it happening in the ending, the amount of stupidly cool events that and details that you can completely miss in this short animation is ridiculous. Total serotonin blast X3
this might be one of the best videos i've ever seen. now, to generalize the mood, it started as a happy story, than it was about to be a bad story, than it give us hope about how we can save this story from being sad, than it became a very, very happy story. i dont know about what you guys think, or what the people who made this video thought while making it, but i see this as a inspirational story. it shows me how there is always hope, how we can change everything we want if we work with each other. for me, this is the best and happiest video andy land ever made.
I don't know if this was intentional but I relate to that little girl with my autism sometimes the world wants you to work or have a job do something but I'm just always free no matter how old I am I hate it when people say what do you do for a living like that's your only personality trait and u have to have a job all I really want to be it's me in the moment in my own beautiful world like this girl wants to be which is free im lucky i have a family that understands this rare and wonderful way of my life and supports me fully i dont think many people understand
This almost got me in tears. This is so beautiful and it was a mix of fantasy and reality. It made me think of what we could have gotten if we where really free and the robots got the reality showing the real world we are in....Its beautiful
The fact that Andy can create some of the best storytelling, wordbuilding, characters, etc, within two and a half minutes really shows how talented he is. Seriously, he should be way more famous, thank you for your hard work Andy!
It was a super nice touch to have the little red creature be reborn again. In tune with the 'rebirth of society' theme or just as a little fun, either way I loved it.
A neat little detail I like is how at 0:54 there is a screen in the background that says, “solar eclipse today!” Which foreshadows the 2 satellites being just close enough together at 2:20 to both get smashed with just a single rocket.

This Is my interpretation: the Yellow world rappresent the adult world, people live very miserabile lifes, working all day, Just to buy things they don't Need. When people grow up they think they Need to suppress emotions in order to survive. The protagonist knew about this trap and escaped in a colorful world. The lord of the Yellow world (a robot since he Lost his humanity) find out about the Kid and wanna get him back to the Yellow world since his rebellion could influence thè other people of the Yellow Planet. But it's too late and the people already started to take over the lord. In the end the Kid use the flowers to make the Yellow world into a beutiful garden. I think this video rappresent how when we grow up we Lost our Virtues and Kids actually could teach us more the we can since they're pure
