one of the reason is they look good, no one sounds like them, the singer was iconic and chariusmatic as heck, does allot of musical acting and mimics that no one, the fewest, can replicate.. and they managed to grow and practise as a band and had likeminded acts comming from the same area, aand by that had enough gravitas to becoma a "seattle" the media just was the result of the existing marked not the other way around.

Agreed. Plus they had the funniest lyrics (thanks to Barnes), and they appeared on Ace Ventura. On the music department, they only have two iconic, God-tier albums: Tomb and The Bleeding. Their first couple of years are far from groundbraking (other than album covers), and they have being making the same old safe shite since George joined.

Chris Barnes gutturals are the best I’m a fan of gutturals which is why i today prefer slam over traditional dm. Cc is the only band I was into back then besides mortician and suffocation Gutturals is my favorite vocal preference.

Yes, this footage is really good aside from the lack of snare sounds . Makes me think the sound technician didn’t bother with giving the snare drum any presence .

turned it down so you don't hear how woefully slow he is. he couldnt blast with 2 hands on snare.

The drums weren’t tuned properly, they just sucked. They weren’t mixed properly, resulting in Alex overpowering the pedals and snare. This is speculated as the reason this never got an official release.

I don't think Paul was using his original drum kit ( Tama grandstar) he's using a Yamaha kit 👉

Osvaldo Yañez Salas he's not bad in the least and not even comparable to Lars in terms of skill, Paul is a way better drummer than Ulrich but both are beasts especially Lars in the 80s and Paul has always been consistent not slowing down or changing kit as they go on 30 years as a band next year, I like Paul's drumming a lot and I think that's what makes Cannibal corpse so successful, they have something other than just constant blast beats which makes there music a little more rhythmic and less "robotic" so to say but then again Pat O'Brien is a cyborg

With death metal, you're not actually singing in a deep voice, but distorting the sound by clenching your throat and pushing out the air with your diaphragm. Vocal cords actually barely play a role with death growls
