I literally just got done making this and holy mother lord love a duck it is AMAZING. Haven't even canned I and I'm not going to cuz I'm standing at the stove putting it on lunch meat ham with white cheddar shoveling it in my mouth as I type. Thank you so much! You are amazing, you are awesome, and you rock
This looks so good! I can imagine all kinds of great ways to use this onion jam. I know I say it over and over, but you do a truly great job with your videos!
Oh hey, Alicia! Oh, you’d soooo love this. It’s such a game changer for busy weeknights, desserts, breakfast omelettes, stews (and the list goes on). I can this by the quarts. I’m grinning ear to ear bc YOU are the true MVP in the kitchen. Thank you! Have a great week!
Howdy! I’ve been wanting to share this recipe with you for a while. Why? It's my #1 most reached for home-canned pantry ingredient. I mean, who doesn’t put onion and garlic in everything. From omelets to meats, to dips, this jam will become your favorite too! Exactly! And, you can even use frozen onions with this recipe. So, before any of your onions go bad and you don’t have enough to can this batch, no worries, just dice and freeze them until you have enough. Thanks for stopping by!
I agree with you that onions and garlic make a meal complete. It adds a depth of flavor. I love lacto fermented veggies so I'm going to look for that carrot video.
Yes ma’am! I’ll take garlic and onion in everything! So very true about depth of flavor. You’ll find it in my prepper grocery haul videos. I’ll be sharing exclusive fermenting videos soon. Quick meals are why I love all things canning and fermented! Thanks friend!
@@deannamartin6827 Yes ma’am! I sooo wish I could share more but I work outside of my home right now so I can only manage 1 video a week, Im hoping to do 2 a week this summer (1 garden, 1 food preservation). Your kindness has brightened my day!
I ran out of canned caramelized onions two weeks ago, and yesterday I actually went searching for some like they'd just magically appear.😄 I need to do some more!
I hear you on that!!! Keeping canned onions is a pantry staple and luckily they are cheap and available all year round so i can buy them in bulk and process. I can these by the quart bc they are sooooo good! So nice to “see” you again;)
You will love it and you’ll get so much use out if it!! I forgot to mention how you can fold it into eggs for breakfast omelettes and so much more. Hands down, my most versatile ingredient-I can it by the quarts!! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Karen! Thank you so much! Most of my meals are one por cast iron or crockpot meals so hopefully they are simple enough for others to replicate. This jam is amazing!!!!!
Hey Sis! Oh my word! I loveee onions. Looks amazing! I’ve often wondered what happens if a lid on one of the jars isn’t properly sealed. So it can be refrigerated for up to three months. Cool beans! Another amazing video! 👏
Thank you so much. YOU WILL LOVE THIS RECIPE. It's truly what I reach fror the most (and virtually every week) to add it into something. This way, you'll onions will never go bad on you, they are ready to be scooped and dump on whatever. Yes, it'll hold up excellent (like any other jam) in your fridge for 3 months, but it'll surely get eaten up by then. :)
Hi Kaye! Your kindness is so appreciated! Onion jam is such a game changer! Hope your onion harvest turns out and that you’ll be able to try this recipe!
Thank you! And yes, it truly is-which is why I actually can this by the quart ;). Sometimes I’m just don’t have time time (or creativity) to make a delicious meal and this saves me every time!!!! So good to see you!
Heya! So good to “see” you on the channel! Thanks so much. Hands down this is one of my go-to’s for sure. I need to catch up on my dehydrating, like you!
I love onions. I like them so much I can even eat them raw lol..😋😆. So happy I found your channel. I will definitely try this recipes. Your new subbie now. Thanks a million in advance my friend. 🎉🌹
Well, hello! I FEEL you on the love of onions! Me too. You will love and probably become addicted to this recipe. I’ll never be without it and because access to onions are pretty cheap all year round, it’s what I actually can the most off. Top them on your omelettes and throw them in stews. They come in handy in almost anything. I can tell I’m going to enjoy your content too! Thank you for saying hello!!!
Isn’t this such a staple canning recipe? It’s really one of my favorites because onions/garlic are an excellent meal starter! I’m so happy you love this too!
Hey House of S! Truly appreciate it! I’m starting to get the hang of editing. You’ve been with me for a while so you truly know! You’ll have to give this recipe a try, it’s such a weeknight, anytime game changer! Have a blessed week!
@@BecomingaFarmGirl I hope to! My husband would love it lol. Yes I have! I can tell you’ve improved by leaps and bounds! I feel like I’m stuck personally lol.
@@thecatwhosawstars FORGIVE ME! I just subbed but believe me I didn’t realize until just now you were also a content creator! You’ll see me on your channel from now on! Why didn’t you tell me sooner?!! I feel so bad!! Girl, give yourself grace! You’re putting yourself out there, giving your time and that’s hard! I can’t to “meet” you and hear your voice!!! Cya soon!
You'll truly love it! We love onions in any form: raw, grilled, cooked, but canning them allows me to always have them ready to go. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello, Dawn! Good to “see” you again. Oh, you’ll just LOVE it and come to put it in everything (in omelettes, stews). I actually can this by the quart but I wanted to put some in smaller jars to mail to my parents. Thanks for stopping by!
Love your video. You are an inspiration! I tried the recipe last night. I don't think that I twisted the tops on tight enough 🙄. I did hear one pop out of 4 jars. I wasn't watching over them as I was doing something in another room. I do notice a powdery film on the outside of the jars. I followed all the instructions on sterilizing the jars. Is this normal. Should I just wipe the jars down or discard? All jars are sealed. I'll send a picture.
I am interested in trying this. I know you have the recipe listed in the description but I would love to know where you got the recipe. I like to be cautious with canning recipes found on YT because I don’t want to do anything not recommended for preserving.
I hear you on this, and know that I will add this information in ALL of my canning videos after this. I’m not trying to mislead anyone and I want people to feel confident in the recipes I share. This is an adaption from the Small Batch book of Preserving the same book in a reply I just shared with you). I added the cooked garlic and mix s brown sugar and honey instead of granulated. Sorry for the delay, yesterday was a loooong day at work!
I can confirm that IT IS! In truth, I tell you you’ll find tons of ways to put this in or on almost everything! Once you make it you’ll never want to be without it! Thanks for stopping by!
You won’t regret it! Fair warning-it’s addictive. The full recipe is in the description box. It’s also great in omelettes, stews, casserole... I mean basically anything!!!!! Cant wait for you to enjoy it too!
I have those same yellow and white checked dish towels she uses, but mine look decidedly worse for the wear than hers do!! I guess I was too hard on them...
Hello Shamrock! I have lots of well worn items in my kitchen too, it’s a sign that our kitchens are productive, lived in and not just for show! Thanks for watching;)
Whaaaat??!! That sounds amazing! Anything with onion and I’m there! Balsamic? Yes, please!!!! I’ll definitely have to find a recipe and give it a try! I appreciate the suggestion!
You are too kind! Your words have made my day. I actually can this by the quart it’s so good. You’ll love it in omelettes, thrown in stews, I mean it’s so-so-so good on anything! Blessings on your week;)
@@BecomingaFarmGirl I was so excited to hear that you were part of Canuary! I can see us going through this recipe like wildfire. The hubby is already planning out the things he wants to try it on :-)
@@mommagator9899 Love this. And yes, this pairs excellent with everything...I mean, not on top of ice cream but anywhere where you need flavor, and that onion garlic taste. Done. And, AND, I love that onions are readily available, cheap or easily grown making this recipe something that becomes easy to can. Trust that I am canning this by the quarts this weekend! I just had to mail some to my parents in Florida because they love it!
