Great video Neuro. I also think that people are too hard on themselves when they lose to something "cheesy" like a cannon rush or proxy or something similar. these are strategies which even professional players playing in tournaments lose games against. If you win against a cannon rush or a cheese that is great, if you lose it doesn't make you a terrible player so don't feel bad or get discouraged by it.
Easiest way to win against a human in video games, deceive them. Do a cheesy play once in a while. There is a name for playing normally , it's called a cheesecake play. Anyways cheers bud.
started watching this video up to the point where you said expand early and target low health pylons. my 1v1 tourney started and low and behold i went up against protoss. I play random but i got zerg. I early expo'd. ling + queen to stop tower rush and the match went on for maybe another 5 minutes but eventually i overpowered him. i went roaches speedlings and banelings. and eventually he just gave up. roaches with upgraded speed made it easy to rush into his base after the lings and target pylons. i disabled all of his cannons and he had no more zealots to defend. he left and I won. first time successfully defending a tower rush from protoss using any race. thank you!

Can't wait to try it now. Played 5-6 games in a row last night against this cannon rush start and it really had me frustrated. Never thought to use my drones to attack, I was just d'ing up my base and setup for roach z-ling nydus, only worked once. Thank you.

I just 1h ago encountered this pylon wall tactic. It is very nice to see that my response was correct. But there was 2 cannons instead of 1 in the low ground. So cannot attack that with drones anymore as in this video which was barely held. No idea what to do in that scenario.
I'm gold 2 and I got sick of being cannon rushed half the time I played against protoss. So I started sending a drone at about 30 seconds to scout for a forge since I believe the forge is usually up at 1:10. Is this a valid counter or is it not worth the lost mining time?
Sorry but this doesn't help, in my games the opponent doesn't let his probe die so easily, it runs around and builds another cannon or two which makes it impossible to hold (and that is in silver elo). Any tips/video on defending a properly executed cannon rush?
There are several mistakes here. The hatchery is your production facility, how can you quantify the lack of production? True, the protoss loses more minerals than you, if you just cancel and move, but you are losing production that at the end will be worst . Another thing, the value of mining time of 8 drones, for a couple of minutes, is higher
He does! Search "Keep calm and nydus", it's the 3rd video of his Samurai Neuro series. It's an amazing game in my opinion, not that I'm even close to his level or anything, but it literally sticked me to the screen from minute 2 or so.
That wasnt a "crisp cannon defense," that was a, "wtf was that dude doing" defense. He dropped the ball so hard. If those pylons were cannons, he was in a good spot. He coulda left and came back a bit later and did so much damage. Just lock you to your base then cannon his base up for when you nydus if you don't leave. Honestly, if this gets out, they might need to add a destrucable on the top area too. Thats why they added the lower one, cuz the pylon natural block. The dude just put it on top, what a rebel. Lol Kinda wanna try this vs everyone now. And so it begins.
