I remember borrowing this from the video library in the late 80s. It was called Cannonball fever and it had the Shiek (Jamie Farr) on the cover with a Chihuahua and l think Peter Boyle then behind them was most of the cast.
Make that an *obvious REPLICA countach* and you'd be right. Looks like one of those Pontiac Fiero based ones. The wheelbase is all wrong as are the proportions. If you look up the IMDB look up the Trivia section: This can be read there:"The Lamborghini Countach used in this movie was a replica." (no sh*t Sherlock)
@@McLarenMercedes From what I remember reading on this movie a real countach was used but only at the start when it's being chased. at the moment it enters the dirt road it gets switched out to several kit cars. you can tell by the rear bumper and even the windshield wipers. But there's a site where it's revealed the company 'Armstrong Motor Works' built 3 prova kits for the movie. One had no engine and was made for close ups, one was built for it's speed and the other for the stunts. The same company also built the BMW that drives backwards and crosses the train tracks. the driver was in the trunk where they had placed the steering while and the pedals. the show myth busters tested out the whole skipping thing, was is possible? Well they proved it is possible.
Jamie Farr played Sheik in Cannonball Run 1 and Cannonball Run 2 movies. This 3rd part only connected with the actor cameos his role from both parts in beginning. That's why.
Not the best in the series BUT you should buy a Countach Just because of this intro. Doesn't matter if the car barely can run in a straight line for more then a 100 miles without a breakage. Just look at it in the garage and watch the intro .
Technically it's not Cannonball 3 they just slapped it on as an 'alternate title'. This has much to do to the Cannonball movies as Jaws 5 did to the Jaws franchise. Edit: That is a bad anolgy because Jaws 5 was a rip off. The only connection it has to Cannonball Run is the producer. More in the vein of how Return of the Living Dead is to Romero's Dead series. I think originally it was intended to but someone stepped in and stopped it.
@@darthnecrosis1705 When the countach drives into the hotel parking lot, It says "Welcome Cannonballers." I knew it wasn't Cannonball Run 3 anyway, because of the music.
From what I read they used a replica Countach. a real countach is used but when it turns down the dirt road they switch to the fake one. you can spot this change because of the rear bumper. they used a fake outer shell which was wrapped around another smaller car. I can't remember what it was. but there was no way in hell they were going to allow a Lambo Countach skipping across a section of water in that pond. the car was too expensive to do that so they had to use afake Countach exterior wrapped around it. this was also used in some of the other shots where the car is shown doing spins and such. the show myth busters proved that the car skipping the water can be done.
Close, but nope. It's Speed Zone, a Canadian knockoff with John Candy and Eugene Levy. No quite as good as the first two, but it had John Candy. And Dan Akroyd's gorgeous wife Donna Dixon.
