Thanks! I'm sending my Headshok in for servicing and I needed the confidence to whack it to remove...it was pretty snug so I wasn't sure that was the way to go...there was that big nut on top just begging to be addressed, but I was told somewhere, unless I know what I'm doing (internally, I don't) don't touch that!
@@robertrodriguez8082 www.mendoncyclesmith.com, Craig was quick to respond to emails and quick turnaround with shock refurbish. There are A LOT of gaskets in there (he send old ones back). Replaced the rubber boot too. SO nice to have a fully functioning front shock!
@@tomgill6916 Nice!! I thought about taking it apart myself but dont feel comfortable..If you dont mind me asking. Jow much did he charge you? One of my worries is that he'll poke my eyes out then il be forced to pay him since I need my shock and fork back. I saw a brand new p bone on my local craigslist for $250 still in the original plastic bag. And I thought that's what I paid for the whole bike a month ago.. Is Mendon cycles reasonable??
@@robertrodriguez8082 $102 plus what I paid to ship it to him (less than $20 I think). I had my rear shock rebuilt somewhere else 2 years ago, and that was $150, so I thought this was very worth it. I love the bike, and I originally bought it for $300 used, so even with the upgrades, it's still a great (old school I guess) bike for under $600. I'm not pushing it, or myself, to the limits of what's possible on a trail. AND, got a fat bike recently and it is such a blast! Trail, road too, or (now, recently) snow. It's the most fun I've had on a bike, ever!
If you have a regular style shock, just go to any bike shop. If you have a Headshok or Lefty, look up Mendon Cyclesmith on the Internet. It's a shop in Ilonia New York. Craig rebuilds old Headshoks and Leftys, and is the only place in the US that I know of who still does it.
You have 4 options: 1) Have www.mendoncyclesmith.com/ rebuild your HeadShok Super Fatty DL80. 2) Use a 1 1/8" Straight Steerer Fork (rigid or an aftermarket suspension fork) and IF you have a Cannondale "SI" Integrated headset (it has "SI System Integrated on the top cup), then you need to buy a Cannondale KP058 reducer headset. 3) Use a 1.5" to 1 1/8" tapered steerer fork (and buy Cannondale KP205 reducer headset). 4) Use a 1.5" straight steerer fork & buy a Cannondale KP119 headset. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1O0fmCF3f2FqdnvQPcBDJaCRUd6qS80RBYhDbB3ZWEkg/pub?single=true&gid=0&output=html

Hi, many thanks for your videos, i have a question for you, if you can answer me it would be helpful. The cannondale f3000sl with Head Shok fatty which center movement measurement uses original, is it 68 x 113 octalink for you? if not, what size does it use at the factory? Thank you
