I have just got a Canon 550D for shooting video and tested it out in my backyard, I need to read the manual a bit more so I can get the best out of this camera but am quite impressed with the results so far.
I used Final Cut Pro to edit and I converted the raw footage to HiRes 422HQ, in compressor, for editing.
I'm also testing Sonicfire Pro 5 for making soundtracks, I found it quite easy to use but still haven't made up my mind about it yet.
