Hi mate , the one you reviewed is the IS Mark I version as the closest focus distance is 1.4m. The MarkII version should be 1.2m. But still a good review. Cheers
It is the mark ii the mark i doesn’t have image stability, I know cause I just upgraded from a mark i to a mark ii. Also listed at the top thread is mark as II
@@coach_yo Hey Man! There were 4 versions of this f2.8 lens made in total: 70-200 1:2.8L USM, 70-200 1:2.8L IS USM, 70-200 1:2.8L IS USM II, 70-200 1:2.8L IS USM III. You are in part correct, with V1, there is both an IS and non-IS version, (IS version being slightly newer, however that is still a ‘version 1’ lens.) The version 2 lens was released around 2010 and the design is significantly different to both V1. In the above video, the unit the reviewer has is an older V1 lens. However, it is very confusing I agree! as the reviewer is showing screenshots of the version 2 lens in some parts of the video. If you are a little confused, there is a photo on this website where you can see the visual differences between version 1 and 2. www.lenstip.com/270.3-Lens_review-Canon_EF_70-200_mm_f_2.8L_IS_II_USM_Build_quality_and_image_stabilization.html. Yeah, totally correct! If it is a V2, (or V3) there is an II or III on the top thread. With V1 there is no version marking on the lens as seen in the video. Keep in mind there is also a version 3 now which is almost identical design to the V2. - also very optically similar apart from slight changes in the lens coatings. I hope that helps! :)
Thank you for the review. I love this lens! Months ago I traded in for the version III and decided I didn't need to spend the extra cash, so I came back to the version II. The ASC on the rear element of the version III really does improve ghosting and flaring but for my needs it wasn't an issue, so it came down to 'do I like the brighter white paint better?' :-) Great video!
BOOM 🎉 literally arrived trough my door this morning & I’ll be pairing it with my 5D Mark IV, but the 1:4 L version, not the 2:8 L version. Off to Iceland in 3 weeks, to Northern Light & StarGAZE💫✨. Choose this over the 100mm-400mm as my telephoto LENS, & I have an ultra-WIDE to mid-RANGE 24mm-70mm L-series LENS also on the way. Truly enjoying the fruits of my CANON labour.🔜 3:55
Might get one after the 150-600 so i can ease the weight of carrying the 600 in my bag the camera with my current equipment the body 18-55 55-250 50mm prime 75-300 and my sigma 135-400 all in bag is really heavy if i am doing alot of walking i would use the 70-200 mark II i would keep an eye 2nd hand
Thank you, I have done a bunch more Canon reviews on my channel. If you’re ever wanting to buy a lens find out what I think on my RU-vid channel. Hopefully that will help you out in the future 😊
Yes it would be. Keep in mind that this is a full frame lene. And as the 90d is a APSC camera this lens on the 90d would be approx 105-300mm equivalent. If you don’t understand here is more info: prophotosupply.com/blogs/resources/full-frame-vs-aps-c-and-mft-crop-factor-explained
Hey there I just bought my R5! I was looking at buying the holy Trinity of lenses but I wanted to save money where I can! I just ordered the 24-70mm and I wanted to get a 70-200 so to save money I was just going to buy the adapter and buy the is the ef 70-200mm f/2.8l is iii. Is the is ii much different do you think it is worth saving another few hundred dolors just to go with the ii?
Hi sir. I just bought Canon EF 70 200mm f2.8 III from Best Buy. But it only has 2 mode of image stabilizer, and when I turn on the stabilization, I feel vibration on my hand due to the motor. Is that normal? I feel like they use mark ii lens and put mark III on the lens name.
