To be honest there's absolutely no one on RU-vid who does explain things much more clearer and accurate than you. After watching a couple of your videos I feel that I have been using my Canon EOS better and I understand them more than before. Thumbs UP!

I picked this camera up a couple of days ago and found the manual did not explain the setting functions very well at all & was therefor little help. I was starting to wonder if i had purchased something a little out of my comfort zone. I have to say that after watching your tutorial i feel so much better. Wish there were more tutorials about the 7dMkII by you on the Tube ,this "focus"lesson has helped no end. Thanks so much for the great assistance and straight talk. I can get a brand new Canon 7D Mark II here for about 800 USD. I know it’s 4 years old. But still for Action / Wildlife / Sport it’s a great preforming camers, even in 2018. Especially for this price. What do you think?

I was getting frustrated. I am not new to photography by any means but the new 7d mark ii I was having a hard time expanding my zone and couldnt find anything showing me how to make my zone larger other than single point. This video just saved my photoshoots for bball games. Thank you so much

I've been shooting collegiate and high school sports with it now for several weeks and am really happy with the camera. Could still use some guidance with choosing the optimum Focus Cases (1-6) for the different sports.

Great video I just found... my kid started playing soccer a year ago and I've been using my old Rebel T2i with a basic lens trying to get decent shots, guess how that worked out. Then I found a deal on a very nice 70-200 2.8 L lens and started getting some really nice shots but the focus system was REALLY letting me down on the body. After some research I found out the 7D MK ii is the most practical solution to my problem and scored one on ebay. Really looking forward to next week's game and being able to put some of this advice to use and hope for more in focus pics especially when players cross in front of the focus point.

Knowing the menu and customizing it how i want is very critical for me, specially now i have to get used to it, and not knowing my menu will confuse the heck out of me with my Nikon usage (which i have been using for more than a decade). The terms and all that i can handle, its just the menu and buttons that confused me a little Thanks again

Thank you very much!!!! I have had the 7dm2 since release date and coming from a t2i I was overwhelmed and have yet to really grasp and enjoy the camera 100%. Going from 9 point to 65 point AF I have tried the AF settings that you have said you will never use!!!!! I just used them this weekend and I had the issue you stated that would happen. I didnt know those zone af sections would always focus on closest!!!! WOW!!!! so I mostly take pics of my u11 soccer team and indoor MMA... so I will be playing with some of the others and getting away from those 2 as you have.... thanks again and going to check out your other videos!!

I bought (yes, bought - purchased - legally) your 7D Training video and it really helped me get a lot out of my 7D. Now that I also have the 7D MKII I look forward to your training video for this camera.

Tamron 17-50 f2.8 Works well with Canon 7d. But when I transfer it to canon 7d mark ii it can't find the fucus sometimes.

hello Michael, i took a used 7dmii. the vertical meter does not appear very clear through my viewfinder. i can see the meter, and i can make out the slider position vaguely - any clue?

Hey Michael I have a 100-400 IS II and a Canon 7DmkII....why is the 65 point focal area, greyed out? it's not available...even in Auto Focus.... Now when I pop a 50mm Canon 1.8 on it...the 65 point focal area is available?

Maybe you can answer my question.. I'm trying to figure out how to get the light meter to show up at the bottom of the view finder like my 5dmkiii. It is down there if I have it in auto iso, but as soon as I set an iso, it moves to the right hand side where I can barely see it.

Got a quick question. I've noticed my action shots are getting blurry while shooting in the high speed cont mode. I always thought that the auto focus would be focusing continuously while shooting in this mode. Not true. It only focuses on the first shot or do I have a setting turned off? PS Most shooting is in the Auto mode and some in the Av mode with the Bracketing on. Thanks

Okay Michael. My 90D broke on me with the shutter curtain. It is being repaired, so I rented this camera. I was told this camera was great for sports and wildlife. I broke out laughing at your comments at the beginning, because I tried to shoot with this camera at the military aircraft at the airshow. Oh how I wish I had my 90D back. Really wish I had a R5(love that camera, no lenses for one). So to gather my wits at all the missed opportunities waiting on this camera to decide to focus, by then it was too late. My 90D would have been shooting away with the aircraft in the screen at least. SO I want to ask this, what is wrong with this camera that it cannot focus fast enough using a 70-300mm Canon EF lens? Or even with a Canon EF-S 18-135mm? Forget the Sigma 150-600mm lens I rented. The aircraft have already came and went and I am left there stunned, (highly frustrated) because it wouldn't focus fast enough. Even the tracking AF had trouble keeping up with the aircraft and focus. In Servo mode! The one thing I can say is that when I did get a clean shot, wow, the image was sharp. I got to hand it to this camera for that. So back to my question, is this a slow camera when it comes to focusing? edit. I had it in the 65 zone. so was it because of the 65 zone. Because you talk about uncheck large zone and 65 zone. I mean these are fast moving subjects!!! We are talking about Blue Angels doing the fast flybys.

Great video. I was wondering if I use back button focus, should I change the shutter button to metering only? Because when I holding on the AF-ON button (AI servo) then press the shutter button it seems doesn't interrupt the AI servo. Thanks!

Hi Michael here's a shocker i STILL shoot with the Canon 70D ; ) But i'm thinking about the Tamron 70-200 2.8 vc or the Canon 70-200 f4 L is for night captures with a tele lens . I shoot night Landscapes and Night street but i want a lens that has nice reach that's better then my OLD canon 55-250 kit lens what do you thank big guy ??
