Canon MX922 not printing - I found the SOLUTION!! 

Thank you Nancy! I had the same problem, only mine was always on the "Letter" paper choice. But, apparently snugging the paper tray guides did the trick! Your video was very helpful! Thanks!

THANK YOU NANCY! Positioning my paper hard to the left side and firmly positioning the slider to the left allowed my printer to print. Until I watched your video I was ready to add my printer to the landfill.

I had the same problem, the two grey rollers in the back weren't loading the paper. It would spin but the paper would not catch. I removed the rubber wills and scuffed the rubber up with some sand paper so that they weren't smooth and this did the trick for me.

Thank you so much! I was involved with 5 different people from Asurion tech support yesterday. Not one was able to help and then they refused my claim for a bogus reason (not worth explaining) even though I bought their insurance policy with the purchase of the printer on Amazon. I gave up in frustration but gave it one more shot today and was lucky to find your video. Again, thanks.

Thanks for the video! I've been trying everything to get it to print. From restarting it, to removing the print head and cleaning it, to replacing cartridges.. who woulda thought, aligning the paper tray would fix it...

had this same problem.. was trying to figure out if there was any additional paper tray.. LOL, the problem was the DOCUMENT, not the printer for me.. the document printer on my computer said 4x6 not LETTER so check size on your computer when you hit print. BUT this video made me feel better and not such a Dummy about operating this machine. So THANK YOU Nancy =D

Oh my god I cannot thank you enough for this. The solution is something as simple as it is easy to overlook. Searched through tech support logs for a long while but no one suggested this one simple thing.

This totally worked. I was trying to print a 4 x 6 picture so I changed the settings to a 4 x 6 photo and it finally printed. No other you tube video helped, but this one did. Thank you for doing this. I will now change the settings on the printer back to letter size. Wahoo!

I'm very glad I found this video!! TO THE POINT!!! I was getting very frustrated with this printer regarding the upper and lower cassettes. It was just given to me and they never used it but the manual was not included nor is it user friendly online. You would think this simple fix would be in the manual online for such an expensive printer. My HP printer was not this difficult to set up or figure out (the ink disc went out). That's the only reason I'm not using it. THANK YOU!!! For saving this printer...lol

So this didn't work for me about 15 times, and I was ready to give up, and then I jammed the paper in kind of badly, where like 3 sheets were sticking up at the back about half an inch. WELL, IT WORKED. It grabbed 3 sheets and only printed on one of them, and it missed the first page for some reason? But, it did work! Your video gave me the patience to mess around with this for so long. It's important, because it's a Christmas letter to my mother, who is dying. So, huge thanks to you for helping us get this sorted. Now I just need to print the first page. XD Wish me luck!

A year ago (see below) your suggestion of firmly positioning the adjusters worked for me … again, thank you so much. However, for the past number of hours I've been trying to get my printer to print but to no avail. Then, another person overlooking the situation suggested I may have put too much paper in the tray although it was just about half full. Nonetheless, I did remove half the paper and … guess what … it worked!!! What a circus! This is my last Canon product… never again.

I know this is an old video, but I just came across it and just like you said, my settings were not on Letter. I changed that and I'm printing again. Thank you so much Nance!

The fix you suggested does work. I also make sure the paper in the bottom tray is pushed to the back of the tray with the top of the stack as the leading edge. And I make sure the printer is on a level flat surface..

This is embarrassing, but I did not even know about that lower tray for paper. I just bought this used off of Facebook because I can use all the ink I bought for my printer that just died. You are a GEM! Everyone suggested solutions that were complicated and ineffective. How did you think about paper alignment? What a score for those who are unclear about possible remedies. I finally solved the No Paper error 1008. The problem was the gray slider in the bottom paper tray (at the end of the tray close to where your hand was when you pulled out the tray, not at the side) was all of the way back on the A4 position. Before you put the paper in, move the slider to the next position (the Letter position). That fixed the problem for me.

My issue was the letter setting. I'd magnified something earlier and forgotten to put it back to the standard letter setting. For those who are still having issues after adjusting the settings and tray, apparently one of the recent Microsoft Updates has affected many computers link to printers. Some people have achieved success in restoring the print function by going back to settings before those updates. That's beyond my scope, but I have first hand knowledge of people who've succeeded.

This was helpful to me too. Another commenter stated you have to check the paper size on the computer. On my Mac after I hit print, there’s a more options setting that allows you to check paper size. It was set to 4 by 5. This was my first print out of the box. Very helpful. Thank you.

My MX922 kept telling me to load paper when there was clearly paper in it. I found another video that says to clean the rollers (the option to clean rollers on the printer settings did not work for me) Take out both trays. Turn the printer on it's side. Rollers are right there and easy to get to! Use an alcohol wipe and while turning one side wheel, wipe the alcohol wipe on wheels to clean. My printer now works again and will print fantastic 4X6/5X7 borderless photo sheets which is the main reason I bought it :) Try it!

I've done all this but there are still lots of times that I have to repeatedly take the paper out and reinsert. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Argh 😡😡😡

it actually helped. The printer really has issues with pulling paper from the tray.

In the bottom tray in the back right side bottom, you see a gray slider with the paper definition printed on the tray, you need to move that slider up a notch

Nancy, I had to update my Firmware, which is easy to do. I put my small envelopes in the upper tray and it printed.

It doesn't hurt to install the new drivers that Canon has on its site for 920 series printers either. The newest date as of this writing is Sep 2021

I followed your directions - tabs corrected and checked to see if it is set for letter size. Still not printing. It feeds through printer and I can hear sounds like it’s printing. Indicator lights suggest it has plenty of ink. This is so frustrating! Nothing on the paper. Ugh! Thanks for your video. I’ll try it again later. Maybe when Iam not so frustrated

So how my printer was disconnected from my router/modem. Finally got that fixed and now it keeps telling me I have no paper in the upper cassette. I don't have an upper cassette.😕 I just did the steps you showed again, but this time I took all the paper out and slide the bar all the way in and all the way back out. Added the paper and then slide it in so it was up against the paper and it worked!!!! It fixed the issue. Thank you so much!!!! I very much appreciate your help. Thanks for posting this video.

This printer is awful! thank you for sharing that info, it was helpful. I also found on mine, I have to make sure the printer chosen is Canon MX 920 series, not Canon MX 920 series 2.

Mines not wanting to printer from the lower. For some reason is say i need to put paper in the upper cassette but I’m not trying to use that one 😭

How do you adjust the colors? Ive had this printer for a couple of years and have barely used it. My problem is; When I print, the colors or picture I am trying to print is tremendously faded. How can you adjust the print settings? Ive gone through alllll the settings, paper type, etc. Has anyone had similar issues? What are your setting set to Nancy?? I even bought new ink cartridges, so I know that is not the problem because this is my first time using the copier since I refilled the cartridges.

Hi all, just discovered that this issue may have to do with the format that you’re sending in the print job in. What I mean is, I was trying to print photos from my phone and the printer kept trying to print from the “upper cassette”. Then I saved these photos as pdf into my “pages” on my iphone, so the phone would send these images in document format and it worked! Mind you the prints were much smaller than the size of the paper, which kinda confirms that the format it is sent to the printer in is the issue.

Does anyone know how to fix the ink thingy! it says I need ink when I just put a new cartridge in, ive tried to take it out but it still wont work!

The solution in the video didn't work on my printer. However, one of the comments said to go to the Maintenance Menu and select the Clean The Roller option. I did that and now the printer is working/printing just fine.

On my screen I have an error B200 I want to check the printer head and clean the printer head and take a chance to get it to work but the carriage is jam to the left so I can’t get the ink cartridges out. MX922 Cannon printer. Any body any ideas?

To add on: Make sure you check the printing settingson your computer, laptop or the canon app on your phone match the print settings on your phone. What happen is that the print settings automatically or maybe by mistake change to a different paper size and it will give you this error because it's anticipating a different size and/or type of paper

It didn't work for me. I tried everything. Still researching how to make the printer sensor detect the paper that is in it. Same settings. Double checked. Same tray settings. Same paper. All I know is after I used the last paper in the tray, "The Printer Needs Paper" message came up. When I refilled the tray, checked all of the margins and settings, it hasn't worked. So dumbfounded.

If you tried everything, and nothing works, try unplugging your modem for a few minutes - then plug it back in. Because the printing process is Bluetooth (in my case), the modem has been the culprit on a few occasions. Unplugging the modem was the required fix....

This does this because the print heads are wearing out, I've had this issue for a few years, where it wouldn't always catch the paper, and I'd have to take the paper out and put it back in, or add extra sheets so it could grab the paper, I've had this printer for 5 plus years, It started doing this around year 3, I just assumed it was because it only did it when I had one sheet at a time it just wasn't grabbing the paper, But if I put more than one sheet or just take the tray out and push it back in, it would miraculously grab it and print . 2 days ago it did it again I've been working on (fighting with it) ever since, the rollers I am 99.9% sure are shot no matter how much paper or what type of paper I put in it, it will not catch and pull the paper through therefore seeing the tray as empty It has been doing it more often in the last 4 to 5 months beause I have been using it a lot more than I used to, used to print maybe 3 times a month and not even every month a ream of paper lasted me 2 to 4 years, because I didn't print much, and when I did it was mainly pictures from the upper casset I started my own business a year ago and over the fall added in Candles and wax melts - I print my own labels so I print 8-15 sheets every 2 days in the last few months. The printer is shot nothing works I cleaned the print heads, and they spin fine they just won't grab paper even when I put about 30 sheets in the feeder! Bought a new one off Amazon, waiting on it to be delivered now so I can get back to work. But I suggest just buying a new printer instead of fighting with it, it may work fine for a month or even 2 months then it'll start doing this again, that's if it doesn't do it after every other sheet! Also, you do not need to change the paper size on the printer itself, Leave it all as default, you only need to change the size of what you're printing on the device you are printing from /through the software you are printing from, and of course, if you're printing pictures that are only going to print from the top printer tray be sure to have the picture paper in there before printing. The printer will automatically print the right size and from the right cassette without manually changing anything on the printer itself.

These steps didn't work for me. It shows my paper is on letter size, but I'm still getting tiny font when printing.

Thank you but it didn't work for me Ugg... What worked for me was plugging it up to the computer and I found that it was the air printing that was giving me the 1007 code so I can troubleshoot the air print issue later
