I have NO complaints about this awesome camera! And people who have dslrs ALSO use photoshop. Post processing. Its what most serious photographers do. This sx70 is a gem. 💎
These superzoom cameras are misunderstood. They are for travel when you do not want to carry a selection of lenses. They take wide-angel shots of that beautiful beach, and they take that old clock on the church tower in full format. Try that with the phone cam, it will give you a slice of the beach, and the clock will be a dot on a tower. Or, they are for video taking of the son's football match. You can zoom in and out in a snap, without changing a lens, and without missing a good scene. Try that with a phone camera, and you will see a few coloured dots swirling around on a green field. With a superzoom you will get the happy face when he scored. It does not do that in DSLR quality. And yes, some high-end phones might even take better quality shots ... for standard situations/photos! But no other camera will give a versatility like these superzooms. The shot that I missed is my regret, not the shot which is not optimal! If it has to be 65 x zoom though is questionable, and if the video quality is not good like what Tommy said, then no, not for me.
I have the SX60 and always shoot in raw, dont knock it. I have seen another vid/review, and you can buy a stick-on cold shoe for mounting an external mic. if you use one, still a cost cutting measure to leave the shoe off and not the option to use more powerful flash. They have also use a smaller battery, another bad idea, cut down weight but means you have to but a spare. It is a good camera with many improvements though. The image quality only suffers when you up the iso above 400.
@@theenemyofthearrogant4784 Not really, but the FZ80/82 is good enough, specifically for the price, SX70 is slightly better but not enough to justify price!
Hi Thank you for the honest review, Your review was spot on . I was really disappoint when this camera came out. Canon took a step back with this camera. Im wating for the sucessor to the Panasonic Lumix FZ2500 / FZ2000 .
For under £40, I recently bought a selection of cheap and cheerful lens filters kit from Amazon, being pretty new to photography I thought good enough to learn on while saving money for a DSLR camera. They need a 67mm adaptor and extend the SX70 in numerous ways not possible with a phone camera. i.e. longer exposures full 15 seconds in bright sunlight on low ISO, macro filter, UV ect,
Hey John, this is a pretty old video and the camera landscape has changed since, so did the prices. I also kinda moved on from super-zoom cameras so I don't have any recommendations that I could stand behind. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
The first video review I see that I have to trust you without any single photo taken or video shooted with the camera neither compared to any other photos or videos you mention, including phones....
You don't have to trust me mate. These are my observations and I shared them. If you looking to buy the camera for sure I would encourage you to watch a few more reviews. Perhaps they will be more to your liking. All the best.
SCN MODE SCENERY ARE EXCELLENT WORTH THE MONEY 22.000 ITEMS CAPTURED EXCELLENT PANORAMA IN GOOD LIGHT, WOW GOOD FOR TRAVEL GREAT EVF BUILT IN FLASH UP TO 1/2000 S
Horrible video. You dont even show photo/video you made and forgot to mention all the functions an capabilities, wich are much more than a phone camera.
You just don't want to take time to learn how to use it. My cellphone takes better photos and videos? Come on. Did you plan on returning this camera and the Lumix as well all along? If your plan is to not keep it then you must find issues to justify your rejection. Do you think it is fair for a blogger vlogger type person to do this in the name of generating content and increased viewership? I don't think your reviews are fair. I have edited this comment because the original comment was a little harsh. So I try to be fair with you, but are you being fair to this equipment?
Listen mate, you are making some outlandish assumptions about the origin of the gear in the review and my motivations. Look, this is my opinion about this piece of gear. And it's on my channel. So I guess it's fair enough. If this provides any value for you - good. If not, move on.
No mate, you are wrong. They have a compact sensor 1/2.3" (6.17 x 4.55 mm) (about the second smallest you can find in cameras) so they are compact cameras. Compact sensor = compact camera. External size is mainly for the purpose of fitting big glass that gives you the reach.
Okay. You are the only one I have heard calling them a compact camera. It fits your criteria for being a compact camera so that's fine. But still, you did not give either of the cameras fair reviews because you didn't intend on keeping either one of them. So still, you show no pictures from either camera or your cellphone to compare the two. Sorry. We are getting all drawn out here, and you are probably a great guy who means well. But you are the one who should move along and not review cameras just because they are used outside. Especially if you don't like cameras.
I'm not sure what you mean? If it is in reference to taking the photos, then it is because it is a super zoom camera. Why else would you buy a super zoom camera if not to reach a dystans subject?
