Colleague of mine often uses a monopod with his heavier lenses. Especially as he also does event photography he can thereby be mobile but also have less strain on his arms and wrists.
With that gorgeous background, its a waste to blur it out, other than the headshot. I would stop down a lot to get everything in sharp detail especially with the amazing compression of the long lens.
I personally definitely could tell a difference, but again I'm not used to holding this large of a lens so not sure how much the IBIS did the heavy lifting.
For longer range portraiture, how would you compare this to just using a 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x tc to get really close for 10 cents on the dollar? 280mm f4 seems like compression and bokeh would be similar to 300 f2.8 offhand, though the loss of a stop hurts with not sunny days.
I would certainly have to test it. Not sure how different the bokeh would be. I thin kits less about losing the light, but more about how it actually 'looks'. would be a super interesting test!
The Manhattan skyline is so vertical. I was hoping to see shots that would include that in the background. Too bad that didn't fit the pictures Lindsay was shooting.
@@lindsayadlerphoto If you want to make a commercial of something, let the viewer decide. My question was, what was this commercial about, selling or renting the equipment. It was dissapointing to watch the whole amazing video then you not encouraging the viewer to buy it. That's my opinion. Sorry, I didn't meant to be rude. I like Pye too. Haven't seen him in a while.
Who can afford it? Less than one percent of photographers, I think. Those who have rich customers. These are units from professionals, not to mention amateurs.
Why? I guess because you can. I am a Canon lover but a Nikon 105mm DC F2 and a 300mm F2.8 would make so much better images but the client would never know. I lost all respect after I watched you hang that big lens off your mount obviously you don't don't have any respect for the gear.
It does not make sense to use this lens and then move close to the subject....85 will do a better job.....135 will do a better job...50 will do a better job.....
