It’s an awesome camera. Best thing about it (apart from the awesome big finder) is the hard power switch that you can switch to no flash, rather than scrolling through the flash modes like. The mju’s yashicas etc

Thank you for the video. I found this camera in my grandmother's drawers when she passed. I was born in 94, this camera is as old as I am but it looks brand new. I have the original package and everything.

yup that's a huge viewfinder.. in my opinion there are a lot of unknown point and shoot cameras that perform just as good as the overpriced yashica and olympus cameras

Dear Ade, Canny video as always:) A slightly cheaper alternative to Portra 400 is Kodak Ultramax 400. I have shot a couple of rolls in Emily(Canon Sure Shot Tele/Max) and they came out great! Lush colours all round:) Regards,

I have really been enjoying your videos and reviews for the last few months . I got back into film about 6 months ago after being given a Olympus OM 1 . Since then I’ve got myself a bargain SP35 . ( I love them both ) . I just so happened to pick one of these canons at the weekend at a car boot sale for £4. I was going pass it on but after seeing your video this morning I’m going to pop in a film and see why I get . Keep up these wonderful videos . You have a great style and delivery that photographers just enjoy .

I'm sitting here gazing at an old Canon sure shot EX ( a very cheap charity shop find ). This features a similar 35mm f4.5 lens. Sadly I need one of those chunky 2CR5 batteries to power it but once I get one I'd like to pop a roll in and see what comes out of this unassuming black plastic point and shoot 😊

You know, the differences between these camera models are often something that simple - battery type. I bet they're pretty much the same.

@@OldCameras Yeah it's kind of odd why they chose a 6V battery for such a basic automatic camera. Fortunately my old Konica Airborg takes the same size battery ( and that has a relatively long zoom and lots of flashy led's to power so it kind of makes sense lol ). Prefer cameras that take standard AA's, so much easier 😉

One word: MASSIVE VF. I just bought this camera but the previous version without the dials infront for 10AUD (around 6 pounds i think) and just loaded up a fresh roll of fp4+. Since its a 125iso film, you reckon it would detect it as a 100iso film? Btw i’ve been watching your videos now for some time and I love each and every video you make. Keep it up!

I have the same canon point shoot except with Crystal date (which i dont use). Ive put aleast four roles through it even a roll of tmax 100 and got some really good results overall good cheap camera.

I'm a new viewer, and also happens to be a newbie when it comes to film cameras. I found that very same camera from my grandparent's cabinet, and I have little to no idea of how film processing is done, and so I am confused how you showed the results digitally. Meaning to say, did you have the film processed first then took the results with another camera? I'm willing to learn!

Hey you can get your photos developed online from many services online where you can mail in your film to be developed or even somewhere local to you . They scan the images digitally and email to you and can also print them out. That camera you found is very simple to load film into . You should try it !

Thanks for an excellent video! I also really enjoy using compact cameras because of fun factor. Also, you have very limited influence on camera settings which may result either whole bunch of useless snaps or really good picures because finding the composition and light is only setting one can change :)

You can see from the sample shots that the lens is not very good on this one. But, sometimes it's the moment that's been captured that is important, not the absolute quality of the photos you get.

She’s an Albino so her pupils are translucent. Basically red eye reduction never works with her no matter what. She predicted it at the time and I laughed when I saw the photos because she was spot on! :)

Had one and it was my least favourite of the Sureshot range. Very nice fast and sharp lens, but let down by horrible numb shutter button and very problem prone, especially motor drive failure.

Stateside here, they are called the 'Owl'. I don't know why Canon named them here as such perhaps because the viewfinder is reminiscent of huge owl eyes. Anyway, I have a Minolta and Olympus version of this camera as well. Great cheap little camera that punches well above its price point.

I also had a yashica t4.. 1.50 thrift find.. and gave it away to my brother.. didn't like the camera, I am a mechanical SLR camera guy by default. But still need to test the weather proof Olympus af-1 brick

I have 3 of the AF-1's. They are just as good optically as the MJUii/Epic Stylus and I feel it is more durable too. Don't let the secret out on that camera. I don't want too many people to know about it for fear prices will escalate. Let me build up stock piles on them before the word is out.

@@@AdriRtg The AF-1/Infinity has the SAME lens as the hyped up Stylus Epic/Mju ii...f2.8 lens. The AF10 has a slower lens f3.5. The AF10 was marketed as a lower model below the AF-1/Infinity and AF-1 Super.
