Yes, pulleys definitely make it a lot easier to pull out multiple redirects! The final option shown in this video, when used with a pulley carabiner (such as a Roll Clip Z by Petzl or Revolver Rig by DMM) instead of a normal carabiner, alongside the DMM Pinto pulley, is the absolute best option for any tree or job that will require a lot of redirects! I personally use this system, with the Dyneema sling, on my rec climbs because redirects are part of what making climbing fun and exciting! =-D
Bro, pines are the worst. You have my utmost sympathy. Toothpick limbs and sap galore. Probably won't need any of these techniques for those. Hard to isolate a limb with pines sometimes. I bet you just spur up those bad boys.
@Knot-orious only for removals. When I'm deadwooding or wind-bracing, I'm climbing rope, not tree. I often end up isolating the trunk, rather than the branches. SRT up to my tie in, reset for DRT back down. All that said, Ponderosa are named for their large, heavy branches, so they are fairly easy to deal with most of the time.

I've asked elsewhere... but... heres my question. Imagine climbing on a bit of a leaner... getting above your comfort zone... fearing a branch breaking. Technique for safety pls? I intended spurs, Buckingham squeeze with climbing line and flip line... i wonder if my question is clear. Ive seen a video, but cant find it... Thanks for suggestions
My best suggest is that, for me, as someone who will climb with one or two primary systems (SRS &/or MRS system) and one secondary system (lanyard), you're best off by trying to work hard to triangulate your work positioning by utilizing a long lanyard as a as second line in either SRS or MRS configuration. If you feel like you're exposed on your left side, for example, then use your lanyard to secure a second TIP off to your right. It's ideal to use two separate bridges to keep your systems apart, but you can also clip into the same bridge ring with two separate systems. I hope I've answered your question. Each exact method for addressing each situation is unique to each situation, so I can only speak in generalities.
