What kind of styrofoam are you using? I suppose it's safe for fishes right? I'd like to put that under my big maple stones to prevent glass breakage or scratches.

@@CarcPazu i just got it at the hardware store and cut it to my desired shape. you can also use that plastic egg crate material for the same purpose. very safe.

Nice! Would this layout work with a HOB filter in the middle of the back?
@juscallmej
@juscallmej 2 года назад
if you have a hob filter i would put it where its not the "center of attention" like it would be if you put it in the middle open area.. either side of the back wall or the either side wall would work fine.

What’s the white thing you have added at the beginning?
@juscallmej
@juscallmej Месяц назад
styrofoam board. it helps protect the glass from the heavy rocks and helps a bit with providing elevation. doesn't affect the water quality.

What did you use for your substrate support? Any semi-hard plastic will do?
@juscallmej
@juscallmej Год назад
pretty much. i used a thin piece of wood here i got at a hobby store

Did you use foam boards to build the hills?
@juscallmej
@juscallmej 3 года назад
yes it helped to give it more height in the back as well as support the big rocks. thanks for watching!

Is that substrate support, corroborated plastic board? I can't find it by that name in USA amazon
@juscallmej
@juscallmej 2 года назад
its actually thin tiles of wood i got in a hobby store. i could split it by hand to size. you can use plastic if its sturdy enough to hold the soil back.

Nice scape but if u have Corydoras that sand will vanish under the soil.. make sure the soil is always on a higher level then the sand if u have corydoras fish
@juscallmej
@juscallmej 3 года назад
i have shrimp who do pick at the soil/sand. the rocks and plant roots help support the soil. check my update vids if you wanted to see. no cories though

@@juscallmej thanks a lot my friend. I will apply me too. However its no problem to gets dirt the aquarium over the years?
@juscallmej
@juscallmej 3 года назад
@@user-zc3td3hv6p the aquasoil usually will run out of nutrients after a couple years so you can use root tabs in the soil to help with plant growth if you want to keep it running that long.
