Worked on a 15 yr old bev air 2 door today. Suction was in a a negative. Replaced drier added factory charge. Still in a negative. Nitrogen flowed through cap tube no problem. Did i triple evac with nitrogen thinking there was moisture issues. Added factory charge. Had the same problem again. Found overload off to the side of compressor. I sold them a new cooler instead. Maybe i could have replaced that cap tube and it would have been fine. Just dont understand why nitro could flow through the system with no problem but compressor couldnt pump refrigerant into evap. Im gonna keep some cap tube on my truck from now on. (Cap tube was starting to frost 8 inches after drier)
Great video Dave, 0 degrees evaporator is good for a cold rail but a keg cooler, do they like to keep it at 40 degrees in the box, I know some beer likes it colder and some don't. Keep the awesome videos coming.
yeah, the oil turns waxy and gums up everything. there could also be contaminates from previous repairs of brazing without nitrogen, that left black oxide flakes, the filter dryer could be breaking up, other contaminates are possible.

Hi Dave, I have the exact unit that I'm doing the condenser unit and cap tube....True tells me that the cap tube is 0.046" id x 120 inches. Looks like your cap tube worked fine, where did you get your specs? (Cup of coffee on the way)

Hey Dave. Do you replace 134A with 134A? We always replace with Hot Shot. Thankfully I have about 5 tanks in the shop before it became unavailable to purchase
When the is system is 134A the pressures work better with the actual 134A refrigerant. Hot Shot will rise the pressures a little higher. But it will work though.
Hot shot is good for the old R-12 systems with mineral oil or alka Benzene in the compresors. The old Hot shot is good stuff. R-414B. I don’t like the new hot shot 2. R-134a is best with the poe oil. Keep it factory when possible.
