Out of all the music in this world, the type of music I prefer is Hip-Hop. My favorite artist is Courtney Everald "Jamal" Dewar Jr., better known by his stage name Capital STEEZ, was an American rapper from Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. The reason Capital STEEZ is my favorite artist is because of the way he can create crazy intelligent lyrics, and rhymes that make you open your eyes to the corruption of America, and help try and find inner peace. Capital STEEZ is a legendary master of ceremonies, Capital STEEZ' beats will make you hop up out of your seat, while his lyrics will sit you right back down in awe. Capital STEEZ has been in two major hip-hop groups the first is : The 3rd Kind this was rap duo consisting of Jakk the Rhymer and Capital STEEZ . The group released one mixtape together entitled The Yellow Tape before parting ways, with Jakk going solo and STEEZ forming Pro Era, the hip-hop group which now contains many unique and skilled MCs . One of the founding members of the Pro Era crew, STEEZ (along with Pow Pe) actually came up with the name of the group and was one of the most prominent members. His real name was Jamal Dewar. STEEZ was also the one that introduced one of his partners in rhyme, Joey BADA$$, to MF Doom’s music in high school. STEEZ has been a huge inspiration in my life, ive now learned not to just keep kicking the can down the road but to find out who has created this can for people to kick, I'm positive Capital STEEZ has been a huge inspiration to many others lives just by them listening to the music that he creates, Capital STEEZ did not care about the mass negative appeal that the media has provided for hip-hop he still created his music because he created his music for other like minds to listen, he did not make music to money and sign for a major record label. Capital STEEZ made music because that is what he loved doing, it may have started as a joke but that joke soon turned into true passion for trying to educate the masses through his music. Capital STEEZ has proven time after time why he is my favorite artist and will continue to be. 47 Shit
Best Rappers of all time in order 1. Capital ㄣ⃒ STEEZ (R.I.P) 2. MF DOOM (Retired) 3. Nas (Semi-Retired) 4.Joey Bada$$ (Moving away from lyricism) 5.Prodigy (R.I.P)
With Steez's music, If I hear it I instantly get tuned into the song only. And only with Steez's music. I know he has put crown chakra meditations in his music such as, Apex. But all of his music is LITERALLY GENIUS on some 47 shit. Only Steez can make this kind of music.
@@killedinfluence This reply is way late but, he utilizes different healing frequencies that resonate with the chakras, in his music. Which not only allows you to feel and the music in no other way, but it literally and figuratively elevates the mind, vibe, and experience. B47ANCE
i had a dream last night where i met capital steez and i sat down with him and i asked him one question, "was there a certain reason you took your life?" and he replied "i didnt, dead prez is the clue" and then he left. this is the first time me hearing this song, and when he said "id rather die by homicide instead of going out without a pride" my heart sank! you dont have to believe me but this was an absolutely crazy experience
i believe you bro, this song always appealed to me. he left behind clues in his songs. i believe all of pro era can see those clues clear as day. i think something is fishy about them not releasing his hidden project, like it was already supposed to be out, is the label deleting his messages he left behind and watering it all down? shits not right.
Reading your comment made me think. Damn did steeze purposely kill himself to gain major attention "precedence" the lyric what do you belive in betrayal treason? Is him smartly saying like folks will believe someone from pro Era killed him betrayed him , or treason the Government killed him for spreading his 47 shit and the interview where he said he intended on taking over the government which is basically treason
RIP brother. I see your brilliance. I am 38 years old and had never heard of you until you passed. This is the first time I heard your poetry and music. Straight illmatic! Bless up!
WTF 2pac bro trippin 2pac made biggie and there was noone else like 2pac nigga was smart AF he woulda changed alot of shit in this world biggie wasnt even no gangster or nothin he was all talk. Nah well you see pac he put out a lot of albums and people have seen his full potential. People like L biggie and steez, We havnt seen Everything that they were capable of. Tupac is a legend no doubt about it but we have seen a lot from him. biggie big l and steez we havn't seen everything they had in them.
[Verse 1] I'm green and inexperienced, dreamin' 'bout that chariots Stay sparked and trade cards, he know that they be cheering it On, I'm feeling grown when I spray my cologne Got a mind of my own, but time's ticking too long And I got a plan to restore the game This shit was looking quite critical right before we came Co and cane flow in that novacane for your open veins All we need is something medicinal, torch the flame Third rail skippin' over missin' track Soundin' like the kicks and claps that filled the gaps for missing tracks The third kind been real, we just missin' Jack Food for thought, but I tossed the scraps in a doggy bag Rehearsin' verses in my head, no iPod Gave my life to Ja and still can't find a job So what I'm grindin' for, to put these new Nikes on Or to hide the scars from the eyes of God [Hook] Is there heaven for us hip-hop heathens Big Pop and Pac, even Eazy had 'em leanin' We all children lookin' for a reason What do you believe in, betrayal, treason? Is there heaven for us hip-hop heathens Big Pop and Pac, even Eazy had 'em leanin' We all children lookin' for a reason What do you believe in, betrayal, treason? [Bridge] I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents that represent me I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents that represent me [Verse 2] "Hey yo, STEEZ, lemme send you a track I've been a fan for a while and I appreciate you hittin' me back Cause me and you, we like similar cats, just tryin' to get on the map And I would love to work with you and Jakk" But I'm afraid it's not as simple as that Cause the symphonies and melodies Haven't been havin' the same chemistry The distance fact is only addin' on stress And it's hard for me to live up to what you expect from me The yellow tape was a warnin' sign It's hard to cut straight to the chase without a dotted line And if I made that the bottom line Then I guess the Khan hit rock bottom about a thousand times Some people like to compromise for the dollar sign, but I had my mind aside I told Jakk from the get that I'mma ride or die And I'd rather die by homicide Instead of goin' out without a pride [Hook & Bridge] Is there heaven for us hip-hop heathens Big Pop and Pac, even Eazy had 'em leanin' We all children lookin' for a reason What do you believe in, betrayal, treason? I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents that represent me [Verse 3] Presidents that represent me up on some G shit Tryin' to stay afloat so long they got me seasick It's been a good minute since we kicked it And I'm still hopin' that you come home for a weekend So I could kick it like a kid again I was all constructive like criticism and Timbaland But I remember back in the days When we was goin' through that Torch and Excalibur phase [Hook & Bridge] Is there heaven for us hip-hop heathens Big Pop and Pac, even Eazy had 'em leanin' We all children lookin' for a reason What do you believe in, betrayal, treason? I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead presidency I'm out for dead fuckin' presidents that represent me
ppl argue if he passed on the 23rd, or 24th, but they never mention that 24+23 = 47. everything was 47. if u wanna look at it 23+12+12, or 24+12+12 - 1 ( minus steez), or 24+23. steez thinkin deep
the beeping to me is the best part. It adds to the musical element of the track. Its noisy and obnoxious but standouts out with the chemistry of the instruments and their melodies. Its also an awkward rhythm like John Coltrane. I think its beautiful. AND it reminds me of the West Coast Gangster Rap sound really popular in California. The production is very Classical
Actually, the original track is Galt MacDermot...a soundtrack composer and piano player from the 60's. It's called 'Come Away Death'. A darkly apt. tune. Frightening.
Look up The Yellow Tape and listen to the whole thing. Then come back to this song and really listen to the lyrics in mainly the second verse. "The yellow tape was a warning sign, its hard to cut straight to the chase without a guided line" Basically saying he made it without a plan or purpose than simply trying to start a rap career. Which is fine, everyone starts off different ways. But what that means is he had a very strong vision about what he wanted Amerikkkan Kkkorruption to be. This was in fact his last peice of art besides KING CAPITAL. I think during the making of the mixtape he might have known he was going to kill himself. A lot of people don't really know what it means when we say he is still alive. If you are intended to find out, you will.
Explain the still alive part. You may have been following him before he died. I wasn't, so I didn't get to follow him all the way up to his death so fill me in
''dreaming bout that chariots stay sparked and trade cards'' he was born in July and his astrology sign is cancer and he used to be super in to tarot cards and the tarot card for cancer is the chariot haha part of the card means "The laurel and star crown indicate the highest attainment of man in spiritual evolution."
Man i'm only 14 and i already acknowledged that steez is one of the best. I know when im 40-50 I'll still remember this guy. i bet everyone will. I am a freshman at murrow tho... it it doesn't matter i only saw him once. saw joey mad times doe :)
Everyone claims to know his beliefs/ thoughts . When in actuality even the closest people to him didn't truly understand what was going on . Smh You all look ignorant when you tell other people on the INTERNET what steez thought . people are so selfish , do you want to be known as the closest to steez? Actually it's far more selfish . your ego gets boosted when you act like you know all about this man who you never met. Stop spreading false information that you think is 100% correct . What you speak of is nothing greater than "hypothesizes " . Just shut up and listen to the Beautiful music .
yes his impact on hip hop was so short lived but it was also extremely promising and powerful. he was a troubled individual but now he can rest. RIP Steelo. bumpin AmeriKKKan Korruption forever...
For those of who want to know why King Capital is taking so long to release is because its NOT a tape they're making it an album so Steelo's fam can benefit from it and they had to clear a lot of samples that STEEZ use on the project but it will be here we just gotta be patient
damn. steez was the one. steez was gonna save hip hop from the corruptive loud trap trash that we hear on the radio. steez was never close with the kids he was around in pro era, he wasn't raping for the money like obviously Joey was. smh only the lord knows why steez took his life. and here I thought hip hop was saved with Kendrick but then I heard that song with t swift. so much for pac telling him to "keep my music alive" . damn shame
bro, you need to chill. RIP to Steez, and he deserves all the respect he earns and maybe even more, but he wasn't going to "revive" hip hop... hell, hip hop isn't even fucking dead. you're just looking in the wrong places.
Best Rappers of all time in order 1. Capital ㄣ⃒ STEEZ (R.I.P) - “Doggybag” 2. MF DOOM (Retired) - “Accordian” 3. Nas (Semi-Retired) - “Nas is Like” 4.Joey Bada$$ (Moving away from lyricism) - “Big Dusty” 5.Prodigy (R.I.P) - “Shook Ones Pt.II” And yes they are all better than 2pac and Biggie
I think he knew like he was done dealing with the frustration. So when he say "out for dead presidents to represent me". I think he might have known he wud be more popular when he was dead (r.i.p),like dead presidents (money), everbody loves money. But I think it's true cuz a lot more people listen to steez now more than when he was alive. And i think when he says "what do you believe in betrayal or treason" I think he was talkin bout how if he took his own life would it be betrayal ( going against his friends and leaving them, leaving them disappointed). Or treason ( going against his religion and beliefs by takin his own life). That's just my opinion so don't get all mad and catch a temper tantrum
I know, I might be overthinking it but I feel he was using the line in his own way, he wasn't happy with how his rap shit was turning out and he was on the verge of being done with everything . It's just a thought...I may be wrong
at the very start when he says "im greening in experience, dreaming bout that chariots" that is what is said on rap genius but i think he is saying "dreaming about arcturians" (arcturians are an alien race, worth looking into this) capital steez was asked during an interview if there was a song he wanted his fans to listen to and look into it would be dead prez maybe this has something to do with his death or journey in life? this could go very deep
for real I saw that interview..I've been getting pieces to why he committed suicide from other songs..I haven't really looked into this song though but I'm going to for sure and I'll do some research on what you just said...stay open bro
What do you believe in, betrayal, treason?", makes me think of Joey off the bat. In one of the interviews joey was asked about the project 1999, in the background you can hear and see steez say "Cos it was mine... or not". i don't know but I believe that could have been Steez project. joey took it as his own work and didn't really acknowledge Steez. Gotta say that would be a huge betrayal. what do you believe in tho?
I love him so much I wish so much he was still here I love his rapping hes lyrics in this song is so meaningful "we all children looking for a reason" I wish he was still here he would be my favorite rapper ever
i feel you. im at his high school he hasnt gone for a while but... its still crazy. i cant beleave how big hes gonne be.people been sleeping on his music, but thats over. hes gonne blow up. too bad hes not here to see it. R.I.B.
don't observe the world like that bruh negativity is bad eye would view it like as a rebirth or like some shit he fulfilled his destiiiny idk I'm high but you get the point
son this shit is sooo true steez know what was about to happen to us all he saww from his third eye and never strayed from his beliefs till the last day, a real soldier fighting for a cause in our hopeless world. i only wish to somday to be half as influencial as him, word is bond, peace yall
There's nothing that hits home like a bright , young, intelligent human being taking his life because he feels misunderstood and targeted . STEEZ you are the image of PRO ERA no matter how many shit tracks Joey makes. I love PRO ERA but hate what it did to you. RIP
lyrics, dope beats, messege to the youth, display of emotion, and this was over looked!!!!!! chief keef, lil derk, migos, trinidad james could make it, but not someone this genius??? smfh #LONGLIVESTELLO
Clayman Clutcher Joey Badass is dope also, you bugging. Remember the cat is only 18 and I think he's pretty good. As for the rest of the group that isn't kirk knight or chuck strangers, ehh…I agree there not to great
It was this time 2 years ago the news came in on the grapevine that we had lost you. I was playing this track the time I found out the news, it felt like time has frozen and I didn't even know you. You made me think deeply about negatives/positives in my life. I know you was going through shit byt whatever happened I hope you finally found peace with your inner spirit. Bumping AK front to back in memory of you and I am sure many of others will be too. RIP brother.
